Having seen the bleak pictures of dead bodies lying were they were gunned down in hotel lobbies and railway stations in Mumbai india by suposedly "religious" fanatics I can make one prediction. Of the hundreds of innocent people killed I'll bet more muslims were killed than christian westerners. About 18% of Indias population is Muslim and I don't think these murderers were too choosy when they were spraying bullets around and throwing hand grenades. How these poeple can believe they are doing this as part of any kind of cause is beyond me.

By the way, on the topic of the muslim minority in India there was already unease In India about the rapid growth of the muslim poulation in India, see this article http://www.kashmirherald.com/featuredarticle/indiacensus.htm land this kind of stuff will not go down well with the Hindu population. There could be a lot of trouble ahead. This is probably what these terrorists are after. It's very depressing.

When this story broke, "Mumbai" kept being identified but no country, as if it was so well known that no further identification was needed. Apparently Bombay hada name change that I was unaware of.

I watched a little Fox News coverage today, and the entire thrust of it was that 3 Americans had been killed and more are still hostages. Meantime some 160 people have been killed; that shouldn't be a minor detail in the coverage. Concern for Americans killed abroad is understandable and proper, but not to the point that it completely overshadows the bigger picture; that's the type of "coverage" that breeds such ignorance among Americans when it comes to foreign policy.

Other MSM outlets are also emphasizing that some Israeli Jews have been killed. No one else seems to matter. As with all such events we'll never get straight answers from the system media as to who was responsible and what their grievances were.

Once again, it ends with "all the terroristsdead", so that we get no real investigation as to whom the prime movers of this operation are. Just another internet-proclaimed ad hoc 'moslem terrorist group"("people's islamic jihad in mumbaistrike force", or "whatever"). Is this another false flag operation launched toinduce the US (and Britain) into launchingan assault on yet another moslem country (Pakistan? Iran?).

Guys, here's an interesting story, which suggests a false flag and infiltration of the indian police force. *Notice the mention of the military precision of the terrorists. And the indian police did not fire back*--did their Chief command them to refrain from firing? Who is their chief and what are his connections?

sorry, i accidentally clipped off the headline title. you can also access it on www.rense.com.

From ANI

London/Mumbai, Nov.29: British daily --The Independent - has revealed how a newspaper photographer took an astonishing picture while hiding inside a train carriage as gunfire erupted all around him.

Sebastian D'Souza, a picture editor at the Mumbai Mirror, whose offices are just opposite the city's Chhatrapati Shivaji station, heard the gunfire erupt and ran towards the terminus.

"I ran into the first carriage of one of the trains on the platform to try and get a shot but couldn't get a good angle, so I moved to the second carriage and waited for the gunmen to walk by," he told The Independent.

"They were shooting from waist height and fired at anything that moved. I briefly had time to take a couple of frames using a telephoto lens. I think they saw me taking photographs but they didn't seem to care."

He said the gunmen were terrifyingly professional, making sure at least one of them was able to fire their rifle while the other reloaded.

By the time he managed to capture the killer on camera, D'Souza had already seen two gunmen calmly stroll across the station concourse shooting both civilians and policemen, many of whom, he said, were armed but did not fire back.

"I first saw the gunmen outside the station. With their rucksacks and Western clothes they looked like backpackers, not terrorists, but they were very heavily armed and clearly knew how to use their rifles," he said.

But what angered D'Souza were the masses of armed police hiding in the area who simply refused to shoot back.

"There were armed policemen hiding all around the station but none of them did anything," he said.

"At one point, I ran up to them and told them to use their weapons. I said, 'Shoot them, they're sitting ducks!' but they just didn't shoot back."

As the gunmen fired at policemen taking cover across the street, D'Souza realised a train was pulling into the station unaware of the horror within.

"I couldn't believe it. We rushed to the platform and told everyone to head towards the back of the station. Those who were older and couldn't run, we told them to stay put."

The militants returned inside the station and headed towards a rear exit towards Chowpatty Beach.

"I told some policemen the gunmen had moved towards the rear of the station but they refused to follow them. What is the point if having policemen with guns if they refuse to use them? I only wish I had a gun rather than a camera," he said.

The cowardice of the police is no surprise. If they shot at the terrorists, why the terrorists might have shot back! Better to stay in hiding and live to spend that hard earned pension.

No surprise either that the 'terrorists' are going to become better trained and more well-armed as things escalate.

The Commander in Chief of the Indian's Anti-Terrorism squad was killed in the gun battle. I'll have to search the link for the article, but apparently they have what is called 'extra-judicial' killings in India. This guy was reported to have at least 20 kills to his credit. He died storming the building, shot by one of the terrorists holed up inside.

Sad but true. I remember during the Va Tech shootings the cops stayed outside hiding behind trees while people were dying inside. Easier to go after a mother holding a baby than a gun toting madman I guess.

The first target of the terrorist was the police station. All of them attacked the staion, destroyed the communications and then split into smaller groups. One group took a police van and shot at bystanders as they drove past. It took awhile to get organized.
