All this drama was caused by the way the Packers treated a Hall of Fame legendary QB who had just come off one of his greatest seasons and they let him go for a young unprobven QB. He wanted to retire a Packer and he was not allowed that well earned right and that set off all the drama these last 18 months or so. He certainly is no media whore as one poster put it. I am not saying I have no issues with him but on balance I respect the guy, enjoy how he plays the game and root for him to finish his career on a high note.
Leaving aside the question of whether someone has a "right" to retire on ones unilateral terms, Farve had the opportunity to retire a Packer, and took it. Then, after the team moved ahead with their continuation plans and drafted accordingly (they had drafted accordingly six years ago in anticipation of this eventual event), he changed his mind and expected the team to accomodate him. Perhaps you would prefer the more technical term narcissist to something like attention whore? It's pretty clear that the whole retirement drama is something orchestrated and encourage by Farve himiself, and not some media ploy to push out a prominent white quarterback as has been suggested on this site.
I'm sure Vikings fans also hope that he end his career on a high note, and not with a game-killing interception as has been his pattern.
