Darryl Strawberry has company atop the Mets’ all-time home run list.

Pete Alonso blasted career homer No. 252 in the second inning on Saturday to tie Strawberry as the franchise’s all-time leader.

Not to denigrate Alonso's accomplishment in any way, but I was surprised that 252 homers was the most hit by any Met, a team now in its 64th season of existence. That led me to find the leading home run hitter for each team. Turns out two teams' all-time HR leader has less than Alonso -- the Diamondbacks (Luis Gonzalez with 224) and the Padres (Manny Machado with 167).
