MLB 2025 Season

Harper, who on April 28, 2012, at age 19 made his MLB debut with the Washington Nationals, became at age 32 the youngest player to reach the 350 home run plateau.
According to Major League Baseball’s Sarah Langs, Harper’s 14 extra-base hits are the most for a Phillies player in a ten-game stretch in the last 125 years. For a team as successful as Philadelphia is, the feat is an impressive one. Thomson’s offense has seen an uptick from Harper and his co-stars amid the team’s struggles.

He may not be as good of a defensive player as Mike Trout but I don't care. I want someone to take down Barry Bonds someday. Let's hope
that Bryce Harper continues to stay as healthy as possible. He is a physical specimen. Hoping he has at minimum another 350 home runs to go. Screw that I want the All Time Record. The 700 home run club is a very small group.

Just to clarify. Alex Rodriquez is the youngest player ever to reach 350 homeruns. He accomplished that feat at age 28 years and 282 days old.
Harper is the youngest active player to reach 350 homeruns. He'll have average over 35 homeruns a year for the next 11 years to pass Bonds. Probably won't happen. As much as I dislike it.
Mike Trout had the best chance of reaching Bonds, but too many injuries in his prime cost him that record. Harper has had some injuries as well.

Something must be incorrect. According to the stats I'm looking at, Mike Trout was 31 years and 59 days old when he hit homerun number 350? 15th alltime.
Harper is listed at 27th
JFYI Bonds was 32 and 333 days when he hit HR number 350. 30th all time.

I don’t think any of the current major leaguers can pass Bonds. Through the use of performance enhancing drugs, Bonds started putting up gaudy totals from his age 35-39 years. This is when guys naturally start to decline but Bonds did the opposite.

I think Trout and Harper will be in the 500 club but not likely the 600 club. Another dark horse for the 600 club is Kyle Schwarber. He’s same age as Harper but homering at a higher rate per season. Over the last 4 seasons, he’s averaging 41. If he adds say 10 more to his season total of 36, he’ll start next year at 330. 40 homers over the next 5 season puts him at 530. That gives him a few more season at age 38 and on to get there. Of course, health is the main factor.

To break the record, we need guys with huge natural power who can make the majors around 20-22 and hit 40+ per season. Keep an eye on Nick Kurtz, Jac Caglianone and Bryce Eldridge. All fit the “big hoss“ profile.

Per season, Pete Alonso is a natural homerun hitter and a big build guy. He’s interesting too as he’s averaged 42 homers a season in his 5 full years. Disadvantages. He came up at 24 and had the Covid season steal from his career totals. If he keeps the pace, he’d hit 500 around his age 36 season.

That's very sad to hear.. I was a big Ryne Sandberg fan. He was a Hall of Famer and definitely one of the best at his position ever. Sandberg defined the new age second baseman combining power hitting, defense and speed RIP.
Yes, a great all-around second baseman, had all the tools in abundance. RIP

Knew quite a few kids growing up with the name “Ryne”, being on the outskirts of Chicago.

RIP
