MLB 2025 Season

Manfred continue to show his absolute disdain for the game with the torpedo bat issue. Anything to make up for the lacking product on the field and to try and push more home runs. It will be interesting to see how much this bat impacts numbers this year. Small ball, strategy and game management which make the make the game have character all disappear as the game becomes homogenized.

I haven't seen any analysis on the production of players with the new bats versus the old. Aaron Judge is leading the Yankees in home runs and he is still using a standard bat, not the torpedo.

Trout with 2 HRs today, 5 for the season. Angels are 8-4. Trout will DH and play RF significantly this season, hoping for good health. I expect him to have a monster season!

If anyone deserves a break, it's this guy. The injuries year after year have destroyed what could have been the best baseball player to ever lives legacy. I would love to see him have a few great years to at least recover some of the stats. Future Hall of Famer but we will always wonder just how great he could have been?

Trout HR number 6!
Trout now is top 50 all time in WAR. He's still young enough to put a few huge seasons together and could still end up top 10 all time if he does.... He just has to stay healthy and keep producing.

Rookie to keep an eye on - Jacob Wilson on the A's. He hit over .400 in his minor league career!!!!! .401 / .446 / .606 in the minors!!!

Currently hitting .377 for the A's !!!!

The A’s knew what they were getting when they took former All-Star Jack Wilson’s kid No. 6 overall in the 2023 Draft. He left Grand Canyon University after three years with an absurd strikeout rate of 4.6 percent. That came down because in his junior season, he struck out just five times in 217 plate appearances (2.3 percent).

Digging deeper into all of his numbers will leave you even more astounded at what he’s done this year at the upper levels of the A’s system. If Wilson saw a strike this year, he swung at it. And if he swung at it, he didn’t miss. According to Synergy, Wilson saw 256 pitches in the zone between Double-A and Triple-A. He swung at 194 of them, or 75.8 percent of them. He missed a grand total of seven. That’s a miss percentage of four percent, a number so small it’s hard to comprehend. By comparison, Steven Kwan is the only big leaguer with at least 75 plate appearances to have a lower in-zone miss rate, at 2.9 percent. Even the gold standard, Luis Arraez, is at 6.1 percent.

This is the type of player MLB needs more of instead of the current league of strikeout kings!

Nice find! Couldn't agree more that baseball needs professional hitters in the game, not guys who swing for the fend or strikeout.

Trout HR number 6!

My only complaint is his lack of hitting for a better batting average the last several years. He is hovering about a 200 Batting Average as we speak. I'm sure he will rebound and bring that average up soon. It does seem however though that he swinging for the fences more than swinging for average. What is your guys opinion?

Spencer Torkelson is now hitting .314 with 4 HR and 10 RBI for the red hot Tigers. They have a great staff with mostly lunch pail hurlers other then “Black” Jack Flaherty.

Yes, great find ks5000! Also, look out for Tyler Soderstrom, A's 1B is hitting .321 and a tied league leading 6 HR's. Wilson's hitting and Soderstrom's power could be special! Soderstrom's OBP. .397 is better than Wilson's .368.

My only critique of Jacob Wilson hasn’t drawn a single walk all season. It’s impressive what he’s able to do putting the ball in play but if he could be a little more selective he could easily have an elite OBP.
