Horrible. Absolutely horrible. Are white superstars becoming the victim of racist cheap shots? First Trout hit, now Harper takes one in the face. Umpires warn both sides then throw out the Phillies manager instead of the black pitcher.

.....and Harper still hasn't returned from being hit in the face with that 97 mph fastball. Word is he, Harper reached out to the St. Louis pitcher, Cabrera who hit him in the face to see if he was ok? Weird, shouldn't it have been the other way around? Harper has a sore wrist now as well.

Mike Trout has hit HR number seven. He's leading the league in BA: .425, OBP: .523, OPS: 1.304, and OPS+: 265.

The Venezuelan National Team sometimes called the Detroit Tigers have provided some unexpected entertainment for me this season by being so horrible. The team is historically bad at this point. Worse start then the 1962 Mets.

Their lineup is filled with free swinging Hispanic (and black) players that miss at a record rate. Usually you get a few HR’s from that but not this crew. Their mostly white pitching staff is doing okay which must make the locker room a lot of fun.

The GM, Avila is supposed to be a specialist at judging and acquiring Hispanic players. Not so much. His acquisitions for stars like JDMartinez, Nick Castellanos, Justin Verlander, and others have been horrible.

I did not know that the Twins had brought up big time prospect and the 15th overall pick in 2016, Ales Kirilloff up from the minors. Career .238 hitter Miguel Sano from the DR was put on IL
and Kirilloff has four HR's in his first 38 AB's. So, with Sano set to comeback the Twins can't decide what to do with Pittsburgh native Kirilloff. Really? Seems like an easy decision. Continue to let Kirilloff be the starter, because he's obviously the future. The Twins are seriously thinking of sending Kirilloff back down when Sano returns. Easy to understand why most of us can't follow MLB anymore.
Kirilloff is 2-3 tonight with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Currently his BA. is .220, He began his career 0-15, but was the victim of some bad luck with a lot of hard hit balls right at defenders. Looks like some of those hard hits are finally getting through as he 9 for his last 23, or .391 BA. over the last five games. Including the four HR's.

With Phall doing the top 50 in the NBA, thought I would do MLB. Here are the Batting Averages. As you can see MLB still is dominated by white players. I used to follow the NBA and I'm glad there are whites doing well. But they are from other country's for the most part. MLB is still heavily a home grown USA white sport. I'll do RBI's, HR's and pitching later. Pitching is even more dominated by white pitchers!
Note: There are a few of these guys I'm not sure of being all white. Martinez, Madrigal, maybe Peralta.
Two white players are in the top five in Stolen Bases as well. With Merrifield, KC leading with eight.
Possibly 29 of the top 50 are white Americans in batting average.

You're welcomeKS5000. I guess I try and follow MLB, because it's a distraction from the all the mess this country is in. Besides Hockey, which I don't know much about, MLB has the most American white athletes and currently Mike Trout is the best player. On second thought, I think the NHL is mostly comprised of Canadians and whites from other countries.
One of the great white SF pitchers, Madison Bumgarner, Arizona Diamondbacks, is from my area of the state. He's had some injuries over the last several years, but seems to be making a little comeback,
He's 3-2 so far this season. Hopefully, his comeback continues. He's a World Series legend.

Los Detroit Tigres are continuing to amuse as they flail and flounder. Losers of the last 15 of 17, and now the pressure is on Miguel Cabrera, the best right handed hitter in history (ha). Piggy is like 5 hits away from passing Babe Ruth on the all-time hit list. At the rate he is going he should pass him around July. At about 30 mil a year the Cabrera contract may be one of the worst deals in history passing the money the Angels shat away on Pujols.

Madison Bumgarner threw a no-hitter last week in the second game of a doubleheader, but it won't officially count because second games of a doubleheader have been shortened to seven innings. I didn't realize that was a new rule.

what a stupid rule. If a no hitter does not count, should home runs, rbis or any other statistic not count. The mlb decided to make a stupid rule change - that should not change the definition of a no hitter.

Glad to see Bumgarner flash some of his former dominance. Surprised to see that he isn’t the same dominant pitcher he was with the Giants though.

He's 30 years old but didn't pitch in the majors until 2019, so maybe he started off as a more traditional pitcher and then reinvented himself as a submariner.

Kent Tekulve was a great submarining reliever who pitched in over 1,000 games, mostly with the Pirates, but his delivery wasn't nearly as below the knees as Rogers':

Seattle Mariners called up 21 year old OF Jared Kelenic two days ago and after going 0-4 in his debut, Kelenic's first MLB hit was a HR. He hit two more doubles in his next two at bats. Looks like a smaller version of Bryce Harper. 6'1, 196. Also, has plenty of speed. Hopefully, he's in the SHOW for good. Could be another great player to watch.

....Meanwhile, Mike Trout is in one of the worst slumps I can remember. He's 4 for his last 31 AB's or .129 BA over his last 10 games. Including 0-for his last 13. BA has plummeted 80 points. I'm going to be positive and say he busts out of it today in Boston.

I hope Kelenic sticks as well @Carolina Speed ! Keeping him stashed in my bench since the beginning of the seasons looks to be yielding some returns finally! He should of been on the opening day roster IMO.

I hope Witt Jr gets called up as well. He has been doing very well in Double-A after a strong spring training. He may end up being a late season call up.
