It was fine for 105 years but now it is “racist” according to this generation of perpetually offended.

People from all generations are contributing to this stifling culture of hyper-political correctness. At any rate, we all know that the most likely suspects for forcing this name change on us are a small group of old rich Jews.

I wonder if the Atlanta Braves will have to drop the word Braves from their name? Will they be called the Atlanta Baseball Team?

I think the Indians should change their name to The Browns as well. Just fits their demographics so perfect.

I don't think the Braves will last long either. What about the Chiefs? "It's" Pat would be a perfect spokesman for a name-changing, white-bashing tearjerker ad.

Now the Negro Leagues are part of MLB?!

The pandering to the Negro will never stop. ((They)) are making sure of that.

Worshipping blacks has become the new religion in America. Perhaps one of our baseball experts here at CF could elaborate on why adding the Negro Leagues to MLB is laughable at best. I seem to remember reading something here about how statistics were dicey and not well kept, and also about how you would have players switch teams in the middle of games. In other words, it was a glorified rec league.

They have stated they will add stats to players all time totals, what is scary is what kind of totals Negro League legends like Josh Gibson could have, he has supposedly 800+ home runs. I don't care what the PC line is but this league didn't have the depth of MLB, if it did Blacks would have dominated pitching when baseball was more popular in the Black community.

With the PC madness and White guilt you might as well have the Japanese league having their totals count and Sadaharu Oh having his totals count too, plus Ichiro is the new hit king... Oh wait they tried that one already or at least ESPN pushed the envelope.

LOL beyond stupid, each League keeps trying to out virtue signal the next, it's sickening. Now the fairy tales of The Negro Leagues are to be counted as truth..

So, Josh Gibson replaces Barry Bonds as the all time HR leader? No problem. What about Japanese legend Sadaharu Oh and his 868 career homeruns?

it’s events like these that make me question a good chunk of recorded history. How far has it veered from the original script? This wasn’t even a hundred years ago and the stories and perception of the negro leagues are radically different than the real events.

I’m sure in a hundred more years grade school kids will come to learn about the all time home run leader Josh Gibson career outside of baseball liberating Auschwitz and being the first man to fly across the Atlantic.

What a joke. AAA baseball and even AA are more legit than the Negro Leagues.

The Negro Leagues were founded in 1920 and lasted until the 1948 as an official league, after that it was similar to the Harlem Globetrotters of the 1940's to early 60's where the teams were barnstormers who played local college teams had exhibitions or played benefits for charites etc...

It's a total mess and FUBAR for a serious statistician to try and integrate these stats in MLB all time totals. Why not include the Mexican league, Cuban league, Venezuelan league too? Also like I stated before the average player wasn't MLB caliber so Josh Gibson was feasting on AA or AAA talent. Even shot MLB guys when they are on rehab or down in the minors to work on their games still put up decent numbers at AAA.

PS, https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id...ficial-records-never-change-did-black-playersOf course only Clay Travis or a Black reporter could write this but this is what we talked about....

This isn't worth starting a new thread over so I'll post it here. I think guys that send dick pics to women they don't know or barely know are. . . dicks and worse, but at the same time under woke diversity we're now a society in which men can't acknowledge, verbally or otherwise, that they appreciate a woman's attractiveness. It's become an instant firing offense. There used to be right ways and wrong ways to do so but now it's just plain old verboten, which may explain why some guys act the way this clown did. We may not be far from the time when men and women have to dress alike in order to discourage any hints of masculinity and femininity. Feminazis always decry The Handmaid's Tale, but as always, they're the ones bringing it about, projection and all.

Mets owner Steve Cohen announced Tuesday morning that the club has fired general manager Jared Porter.
This comes after an ESPN report on Monday which detailed that Porter sent "explicit, unsolicited texts and images to a female reporter in 2016." Porter acknowledged sending the messages when contacted by ESPN on Monday, but denied that the explicit images were of him, saying that they were "kinda like joke-stock images." Mets president Sandy Alderson released a statement late Monday saying that the team was gathering the facts, but Porter's dismissal was a foregone conclusion. Cohen acted swiftly Tuesday morning, saying that there should be "zero tolerance for this type of behavior." Assistant general manager Zack Scott, who was the runner-up for the GM job earlier this offseason, will presumably take on an increased role following Porter's exit.
