NY Yankees 1B Luke Voit has just tied Mike Trout for the league lead in HR's with 16. Although I'm glad for Voit, I would like to see Trout lead the league in HR's just once. Even if it is for the shortened season.

Another possible up and comer is Phillies rookie 6'5 3rd baseman Alec Bohm. Although not hitting for power just yet, 2 HR's. He is currently batting .312.

Wow! Colorado Rockies power hitting SS, Trevor Story is leading the league in stolen bases with 13. Having been caught only once. Way to go whitey.

Luke Voit with homeruns number 17 and 18 last night! He now leads the majors by 2 homers over the likes of Mike Trout and Nelson Cruz.

Pretty good for a guy who was considered a AAAA player. For those unfamiliar, that’s a guy too good for triple A but not good enough for the pros. The Yankees were able to acquire him from the Cards for a mediocre lefty reliever and a minor league reliever. A total steal!

Just a reminder they cancelled all of minor league baseball this year. Just another feather in the cap of baseball. Meanwhile most of the high school summer stuff went on as planned. Go figure? Well you can't.

As the MLB "little dick" 60 game schedule comes to an end this Sunday they just recently decided to have the playoffs in two California sites and two Texas sites. Warm weather sites. Great you can extend the playoffs through November. Not a bad idea and like the NHL a sort of a bubble situation. Well done right?

Not exactly. They decided to do this on the fly which begs the question why didn't these morons figure this out earlier. Because if they had they could have easily played an 81 game schedule and have the teams play the regular schedule through mid October. At least with 81 games ( I would have shot for 100) fans can relate more and say well double the numbers and you get a better idea of what a player's stats would have looked like in a full season. Of course that wouldn't be totally accurate as players can have hot or cold second halves of the seasons but at least it is more relatable than the little dick 60 game schedule.

So now they will cram in all these baseball playoffs that I think includes 16 teams and I do wonder if any one gives a rat's ass at this point?

I didn't like the idea that the NHL and the NBA cut short the seasons of some teams but at least they had a plan in place and for the most part everything has proceeded well. MLB never had a plan in the first place and just improvised. And they had no solid protocols in place as the player's hit the strip clubs and contracted the virus. Part of the problem is the owners figured they wouldn't have to pay the players at all this season. That was their main goal. When they renegotiate soon we could be staring at a long strike. Just what the doctor ordered after a butchered season.

I know these are tough times and there were obstacles to overcome but I have never seen in my life ( although tennis has had a bad summer) a major pro sports league make so many horrid decisions in my life as MLB has done this spring and summer. And that includes their "little dick" rules they put in place too. Seven inning games for doubleheaders? They are simply a full fledged joke. Stupefying is the only word to describe it.

LeMahieu, the AL leader 2020, batted .364 this season and won the batting title in 2016 while playing for the Rockies with a .348 average.

Atlanta's first baseman Freddie Freeman finished second in the NL in batting at .341.

A hitter only needs 3.1 plate appearances per team game to qualify. The Nationals played 60 games, so Soto just had go break 186...same as it is every year.

Well for what its worth it is a pretty white-friendly MLB playoffs so far. If the A's, Rays, Dodgers and Braves make the semi-finals it will be about as white as we can expect nowadays. Even though the promos for the games are filled with million dollar smiles, whites are the dominant players and over 60-65% of the rosters.

I guess the Braves have finally woke the Dodgers up. They scored 11 runs in the top of the first on two doubles/ two RBI from Corey Seager, a grand slam from Max Muncy, a Joc Pederson HR, and Bellinger has just homered in the top of the second making it 12-0 in game three!

The Dodgers SS Corey Seager was named NLCS MVP. Stat line: .310/.333/.897. He set NLCS records with 5 HR's and 11 RBI. In a time where he SS position has become the CB of MLB, Both SS's Dansby Swanson for the Braves and Seager for the Dodgers are white.
Swanson, Freddie Freeman, and Austin Riley played well for the Braves. Freeman could have been named MVP for the losing team. He had a great series with several HR's and was robbed of one last night that might have won the game for the Braves.
Anyway, pulling for the Dodgers to win it all!

It was a bit unusual to see the Braves and Dodgers field two white shortstops in Swanson and Seeger. Both had terrific seasons too.

But there is also a real curio this World Series. But it comes with a caveat. Tampa CF Kevin Kiermaier was beamed with a pitch in the midsection and missed a couple of games in the Astros series. He played game seven but I am not sure he is fully healthy.

Meanwhile after CF Bellinger's moonshot winning home run last night he dislocated his shoulder during his over exuberant celebration after he rounded the bases. Will players ever learn? I hear he popped it back in place but I'm not even sure he is fully healthy now.

I bring these two centerfielders up because off the top of my head during my lifetime it is rare to see two WS teams feature starting white centerfielders. In fact it is exceedingly rare and I am also left to wonder if it has ever happened in my lifetime? I would have to do a little research on the matter to come up with an answer.

In this half ass season both teams had the best records in their league. At least some team didn't cheap their way in I suppose? Kiermaier has one three gold gloves and is a speedy athletic player who isn't much of a hitter. He batted .217 this season with 8 stolen bases in 9 attempts.

Bellinger is one of the best athletes in all of baseball but he started off horribly this season and ended up batting .239 but he did bop 12 home runs and knocked in 30. He also made the catch of the playoffs when he robbed Padres young hot shot star Tatis of a home run. Bellinger had an excellent rookie season but slipped the next year. Last year he started off gangbusters and even though he tailed off at the end his season was one for the ages and he deservedly won the NL MVP award. So now in his fourth year his career has developed a every other year quality to it.

I'm rooting for the Dodgers, the whitest team in baseball.

Really awesome World Series underway (as we speak!) between Tampa and LA. As Shadowlight mentioned above, the Dodgers field eight white ballplayers in their starting lineup, with the excellent Betts being the lone exception. Certainly surprising, but the lineup is deep and full of stars. Bellinger is amazing, Seager is only the second shortstop to win NLCS MVP, and players like Turner and Peterson continue to contribute.

Interesting the way both teams have constructed their rosters to be successful. Tampa has rode an excellent bullpen and rotation to the WS, with just enough hitting. Their roster is full of players that the Rays alone seemingly recognize the value in, and acquire seemingly at will from other teams. It's fun to see a small market team think differently and achieve success!

LA has plenty of homegrown stars too, but they have the money to extend their own great players like Kershaw and Turner, while retaining Betts after acquiring him.

Pitching has the upper hand early, excited to see this one play out!!

Kershaw really settling in after a shaky first. Mixing in lots of pitches - fastball, slider, cutter and that signature curve. Rays have a lot of swing and miss in the lineup normally. He looks sharp!

Glasnow for Tampa equally solid, but with a very different arsenal. Fastball regularly 100+ mph with a tight breaking ball. Unbelievable Pittsburgh had this guy throwing sinkers and pitching to contact. Dodgers normally very patient and professional at the plate, but are looking overpowered first time through the lineup.

Monster two-run home run by Bellinger in the fourth! 98mph is good, but you still have to locate. Not your typical center fielder with power like that

Is this the time P Clayton Kershaw finally finds redemption at the biggest moments? For such a great all time pitcher his resume is tarnished a tad for his postseason performances. Last night he went some way towards remedying that situation. Still a ways to go here but a big first step in the right direction after a brilliant game by him.

Dodgers have the horses to win this thing but in baseball favorites don't always win.

Note Cody Bellinger's little foot touch celebration after his big home run last night. Lesson learned and hopefully other white athletes learn that one can celebrate without bringing on a bad injury. I have seen too many players suffering ACL injuries by over celebrating a play though the years.
