Mitch signs a two-year deal with the Steelers!

Not my team of choice but I'm still happy. Trubisky will have a legitimate chance to win the starting job. I don't think the coach likes Rudolph much
and plays him because of a lack of significant other options. Not that Rudolph is that bad. It's just seems like a personality conflict. I think Trubisky will
have a good chance to win the starting job. If he can get him back to the playoffs by his second year then he could get a long term contract. Happy for him.

Surprised by this. I wish him success in Pittsburgh! I like Rudolph and maybe he will get traded or continue to serve as the number 2 QB. I do think Rudolph can start in the league. This also muddles some of the mock drafts.

Great news!! My only concern is the Steelers sumo line and the DWFs treatment of White quarterbacks in Pittsburgh.

Trubisky will start off being greatly doubted by the DWFs, there's no doubt of that, and that's being kind. Improving the o-line is the key for sure as the Steelers have decent receivers and a very good tight end (Pat Freiermuth). They often had garbage o-lines during Big Ben's long run so we'll see what moves they make in that area. Mitch will also need good coaching. Matt Canada, the offensive coordinator, came under a lot of criticism last year for his system and play calling.

Radio guys like “Poni” are cringing in Pittsburgh. A lot of media says Mitch=Mason.
They see white, mostly...and don’t like it. Being a Pittsburgh guy, I’m ecstatic.

Here's a positive move to give Mitch better protection:

Steelers agreed to terms with C Mason Cole, formerly of the Vikings, on a three-year contract.
In Pittsburgh, 26-year-old Cole (later this month) will replace incumbent Kendrick Green, who graded out as one of Pro Football Focus' worst starting centers from last season. Cole, on the other hand, was PFF's No. 19 center, receiving strong marks for his run blocking. Running the ball is what the Steelers want to do more of in the post-Ben Roethlisberger and new Mitchell Trubisky world.
