Mike Furrey- 1000 yards?

Mike Furrey doesn't have a great YPC because Kitna don't throw to him for big gain. He throw to him for 7 ou 8 yards because he has great hands.
I'm sure that Furrey will be the number 2 receiver next year again.
Kevin Curtis, Drew Bennett will leave their stupid team. If they can go to a team who are a friendly white team, maybe we will have a team to cheer! Why not Drew Bennett or Curtis to New Orleans? or maybe in Philly?Broncos?

I think white WR should stay away from New Orleans. Colston was considered for Rookie of the Year, and the media has said that the Saints have the 'best receiving corp in the NFL.'

Here's another Detroit media personality who believes the Lions' biggest problem is that Mike Furrey isn't starter material.  He claims the Lions feel the same way:

Typical anti-white media in Detroit as I have mentioned many times, same as Don has pointed out in Pittsburgh. I recently heard a conference with Lions head coach Marinelli where he praised Furrey (and Corey Redding) to the roof saying those were the kinds of players that you build teams around. He went on and on about Furrey. I can't see him abandoning him yet. Unless he pulling one of those which coach routines where they praise the white athlete and then treat them like crap. I figure Furrey will have one more season as a starter.

Also in the above linked article it was hinted that the Lions, if they don't draft Johnson, will go hard after Kevin Curtis to give them the speed and deep threat they need (if you can believe a writer saying that). Imagine a team with two white starting receivers, they will be calling the Lions BYU!

I love it when people say " Furrey only has so many catches because of the system he plays in", and then follow it with "look at his low YPC".

If these idiots made a little use of their brains they would notice that if a high amount of catches can be due to a certain offensive system, then a low YPC can also be due to a certain O system. But logic isnt too popular, as we all know.

Fact is, Furrey has had a great season. 1000 yards and almost 100 catches, and still he gets no respect.

32 catches and 120 yards more than mark clayton

He beat all these guys, yet nobody is screaming for them to move down the depth chart, the way its being done with Furrey.

I wonder if the reaosn Furrey gets so many looks and catches is because the bruthas don't think they need to defend him(the 'how good can he be' mentality), despite his proven abilities. No, I think they are well aware of him and what he is capable of doing. They certainly study film and probably joke aboutstopping that -cracker- next week, but they aren't able to stop him. He has a knack for getting open and catches everything thrown his way.

Well you could say that they dont take him seriously.

On the other hand you can say that they might give extra effort cos they dont want the humiliation being beaten by a white guy. Also they might give extra effort because they dislike white people.

I concur with the other replies to this post. I seriously doubt they give less effort when covering a white receiver; if anything they will try harder because they don't want to hear about how they were burned by a white boy.

There's no chance that Furrey gets so many looks and catches because he is just good, right?
