I was checking the start lists for the 2022 Tom Jones Memorial Track Meet this weekend. Matthew Boling is entered in the 100 meters and the long jump. Big mistake
in my opinion. The 100 is fine but he needs to get his 200 meters fine tuned before the SEC Championships. He still has time but what good is doing the long jump? He
is killing his body and it's not preparing him for making the world championships this summer. I know he loves the long jump but his coach has to tell him to make a
decision. To be honest other than the 1 huge jump indoors at the start of the year he hasn't impressed in the long jump. Working on his 100 & 200 meters if far more
important as he is so close to going sub 10 and sub 20 this summer. It wouldn't suprise me if he gets hurt doing this long jump just because he loves it so much. Just my
thoughts. Boling is too elite of a sprinter to be wasting time and energy while risking injuries just to keep jumping.
