What the crap? Did I miss something? This has got to be history in the making. A QB, Josh Freeman, with a passer rating of 59 and a comp% of 45% 2 TD and 3 Int., is replacing a QB, Matt Cassel, with a passer rating of 92 a comp% of 69.7% 3 TD and 2 INT!

No, there's no push for black quarterbacks!

Dang are white QB's going to become like white DB's, one missed tackle away from going to 3rd string?

It is absurd. I am more pissed at the ponder situation though. He is a young qb who has not been given time to develop.

I agree Leonardfan, but I was just looking over QB stats and this just stood out to me like a blackeye, pun intended.

Imagine Tim Tebow, with better stats 2 seasons ago(Denver), than Freeman, coming in and replacing Cam Newton in Carolina, who has similar, (although worse), stats to Cassel.

Matt Cassel blew his chance in Kansas City. He got 2 head coaches and a GM fired. Their GM even went out of his way to not resign fan favorite Kyle Orton (only QB to defeat the 15-1 packers in 2011).

Cassel also never got media attention when he was stinking it up. It took the fan booing his injury for people to take notice.

Christian Ponder on the hand has been vilified since his rookie season.

Oh please. Take your nonsense elsewhere. What about all the black quarterbacks that are given 10 years to start despite sucking like Mike Vick and Josh Freeman.

It's more accurate to say that Cassel has had his confidence shot by two seasons in a dreadful KC organization with two bad coaches. Romeo Crennel is/was one of the worst head coaches in the history of the league. How on earth can you have a team with 6 Pro Bowlers and only win two games?

I guess I should have been more specific. My point wasn't whether Ponder is getting screwed. He is. But Cassel shouldn't be replaced by the terrible black quarterback Freeman. No white QB with a 59 passer rating and 45% completion percentage is going to replace a black QB with a 92 passer rating and 70% completion percentage as Cassel has currently!

Plug in any white QB, but it just happens to be what it is in Minnesota. Look at my prior post. It would be like Tebow replacing Cam Newton in Carolina. It's not gonna happen. Even though Tebow is as good or better than Newton, the stat comparison is similar. Newton's stats are just a little worse than Cassel's. Can you imagine the DWF uproar if Tebow was signed by Carolina and named the starter over Newton?
