Hall of Famer
if you don't know the name, more than likely you will very soon … Luke Kennard, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Franklin High (Franklin, OH), is possibly the best high school player in the country at his position.
consider this recent game recap by an opposing coach:
“We tried to double and triple him and we got in foul trouble,†recalled Eaton head coach Denny Shepherd of Kennard's most recent game. “We tried to go to zone and out of that we matched up on him with two guys as much as we could. We thought that we did a pretty decent job on him making him take bad shots – if that’s a word for him.â€
they "held" Luke to 41 points and 18 rebounds.
he is currently averaging better than 40 points per game, and he's routinely doing so while being double- and triple-teamed. perhaps even more stunning, he's doing so whilst routinely being scouted by the biggest names from the collegiate coaching ranks: Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, Kentucky's John Calipari, Ohio State’s Thad Matta, and so on. Kennard currently holds scholarship offers from virtually everyone.
oh! and he's just a junior.
he was also named one of the Top 25 Most Dynamic High School Athletes in the USA by by Reebok and could play college football as a quarterback, should he decide to go that route. you can read that very cool profile on Luke here: Reebok Top 25 - Luke Kennard
