Lets look at the big picture

I'm sensing some anguish out there with Hatton's loss tonite, but I'm thinking my fellow CFer's out there need to look at the big picture. Perhaps because I primarily follow the heavyweight division, I'm looking at a glass that is three quarters full, and I'm not calling it empty. Sure, there will be losses like tonite, or probably on Feb.2 when its also likely that Peter may defeat Maskaev, but on the whole look at whats going on.
There are so many good white heavyweights now that we are now starting to see whites only title eliminators (Valuev vs. Liakachev) for the right to fight a white champion (assuming Chagaev wins over Skelton). In College basketball terms thats like Gonzaga, Duke, BYU and Santa Clara in the final four, or in football terms like Air Force taking on Colorado St in the BCS championship game.
In the other weight classes there seem to be new white champions emerging all the time, Bute, Pavlik etc. Whites will not win every fight, but lets keep looking at the big picture, because it is very, very pretty.

I am soo sick of this blk dysfunctial behavior that is able to succeed at the world stage. I was hoping that Hatton would stick to a game plan and at least punish PBF. Your right there is anguish becuase of the disappointment of the loss and how America embraces this negro behavior and fawns over wins like this! I sometimes wonder what this great country is coming to.

I can only hope that Pavlik comes through again on his second fight with Taylor. The sad part is that Taylor is a good person who is respectable to every one. I will hate to see him lose against Pavlik. At leat Tebow won the Heisman Trophy!

Key word being months, because that's how long it takes for one of their favored black fighters to beat a white man, despite the large number of interracial match ups that now come up several times a year.

The list of recent fights wherein a white fighter beat a black one recently in marquee match ups is much longer than the list of the reverse.

If any of these trolls really had that much faith in their homeboys they'd stop by the forums and post their predictions BEFORE the fight, not after.

I guess I have a different outlook on the Hatton / Pretty mouth fight than most here. First off, Hatton is the smaller fighter, giving up 6 inches in reach and a couple inches in height. Second, Hatton was never declared a superhuman athlete or pound for pound best boxer in the world today. Third, Hatton's style involved pressure, pressure and more pressure on the inside. So we have the media endorsed greatest "negro afflete" in the world fighting a shorter, smaller, slower "average Joe" white man with a good chin and a great work ethic.

RESULT: Referee, Joe Cortez, refuses to allow Hatton to work on the inside during the majority of the fight knowing full well that Hatton is most vulnerable when he tries to close the distance between he and "pretty mouth."

Cortez penalizes Hatton for hitting to the back of the head even though "pretty mouth" continually turns his back to Hatton during exchanges.

Cortez never penalizes "pretty mouth" for his blatant use of elbows even though he warns him at least three separate times during the early rounds of the fight.

"pretty mouth" finally catches Hatton coming in afterCortez breaks them up during exchanges dozens of times through the fight.

The final result being that an undersized average white male gives the greatest "black afflete" today a helluva fight for 10 rounds. I don't see that as doing too bad.

I haven't followed boxing since about 1991, so what I currently know about the world of boxing would fill a very small book. Don King and the antics of the crazy negroes like Muhammad Ali and ultimately Mike Tyson drove me away from the sport and it wasn't long after that I saw my first UFC. With UFC in the picture and other things occupying most of my time, like girls

I had no problems just forgetting about boxing. Like referendum pointed out, we won't and don't have to win every fight. I am just happy for the first time in my lifetime that some of the "great white hope stuff" is starting to look ridiculous as there are lots of white fighters who are starting to prove their worth. Also with the emergence of these fighters, some class and sportsmanship is starting to come back to boxing that has been missing for the most part, and that is a good thing. I will probably never be a big boxing fan like I was when I was a kid. One of my best memories is sitting down with my dad to watch boxing on a Saturday night. I will never be able to recapture that, but it wouldn't be so bad if I could sit down every once in a while and watch a boxing match without feeling ashamed about how corrupt and ghetto thugish it has become, so I am happy with the emergence of the white fighters.
