He wasn't necessarily demoted as he wasn't replaced by another LB. The Chiefs were just running nickle and dime defenses, playing extra DB's. Chenal is viewed as being a pass-coverage liabilitity, whether it's true or not. Chamarri Connor, a black FS, is the one who benefitted from Chenal's seat on the pine. Still, considering Spag's penchant for blitzes, it's surprising that he wasn't out there more as a blitzing LB as he's the best that they've got for that.
