I'm wondering when the last white running back ran for more than 100 yards in an NFL game.

Not sure, the last tailback to do it was probably Brock Forsey in '03 with the Bears. He had 27 carries for 134 yards(5.0 ypc) and a TD against the Cardinals. He got 3 carries for the rest of the season and was cut.

Brock Forsey ran for 134 yards and a TD on 27 carries as a Chicago Bear on November 30, 2003. This was the last time a white didn't have to share carries.

Patriot Heath Evans came close on November 13, 2005 but had to split carries and got 84 yards on 17 carries.

Thats what we're about, getting the info out there! Hopefully when someone does a search for that in the future, they'll get a link to this thread and come here to learn more!

In '03 Forsey got to start for a couple games and did very well. In '04 Brad Hoover was forced into "emergency action" and did quite well. Last year it was Heath Evans doing a solid job. All three were rewarded with instant demotions. Alstott had lots of excellent games running the ball until the onset of Gruden era.

But this year the well is as dry as can be. Evans has 58 rushing yards, Hoover has 21, Alstott 20 yards. Those are the three leading white running backs in the NFL in 2006. What a despicably anti-white enterprise college football and the NFL are.

yes, it's getting worse and worse... soon enough we'll be asking what white runningback was te last to run for over 100 yards on a season, and who was the last one to score a TD...

I thought Gruden would throw Alstott a bone or two to let get his milestone 5k yards. Yes I know the integrity of the game is worth more than individual accomplishments. But it's not like Alstott is a liability running in the right situations. Also Cadillac Williams seems to be running in neutral this season anway....

Both Heath Evans and
Mike Alsott should have been able to go
over 10,000 for a career. Mike Alstott is alot
like Jerome Bettis, but I think a little better. remember he averaged
4.1 yards a carry that year in his prime and ran mostly late in games
when they knew the Bucs were running and alot of short yardage/
goalline carries and with bad QB's ie Shawn King as a counter attack.

Forsey and Hoover have or had the ability to be less
than average starting tailbacks. Forsey only ran in the high 4.6s in
the 40 yard at the combine if I recall and isn't that Big. However you
can't measure a running back purely by speed. Just look what
Forsey did in college at Boise St. I think Lovie Smith is racist for
the comments he made about him. Another note Ron Dayne runs a 4.65 and
isn't even a power runner or elusive like Forsey is and is still in the
league. Shaun Alexander runs a 4.61. Cedric Benson runs in the
mid 4.5s and was drafted 4th overall. I would say the average speed for
a starting tailback is around 4.5 40 yard

since we linked that, might as well add the up to date info:

Oct 07, 2007 Brian Leonard for Rams vs ARI L 31-34 18 carries 102 yards 5.7 ypc 31 long 0 TDs

Nov 30, 2008 Peyton Hillis for Broncos @ NYJ W 34-17 22 carries 129 yards 5.9 ypc 19 long 1 TD

Sep 26, 2010 Peyton Hillis for Browns @ BAL L 17-24 22 carries 144 yards 6.5 ypc 48 long 1 TD
(hopefully first of many for him this season since he finally got to be used as a primary ballcarrier!)

btw i've noticed that Brian Leonard still doesn't have a TD to his name! i mean even grossly underused/screwed Jacob Hester has 2.

backrow, I'm hoping Brian Leonard gets into the end zone this season. I believe he'll get at least a couple of carries a game, maybe even 5. He's bound to get into the end zone before long.

The topic should be "last white running back with over 20 carries." That's the true rare occurrence.

I was thinking that Travis Jervey may have gone over 100 yards at least once but I was wrong. He did have 95 yards in a game back in 1998. Pretty sad stuff.

Craig James or Mike Alstott never had 2 in a row. Craig had 2 in a row in 85 season, playoffs with consecutive games of 104 and 105 yards.

I checked John Riggins' career stats. He had rushed for 100 yards 2 games in a row at least twice including interestingly, during his final season in 1985. Riggins rushed for 103 and then 104 yards in 2 consecutive games in October 1985. Edited by: jwhite96

Who was the last white RB to have 2 100 yard games in a row?

Merril Hoge in 1989, in the playoffs

100 yards, 1 td on 17 carries against Houston 3 rec for 26 yards 1 td
120 yards, 1 td on 16 carries against Denver 8 rec for 60 yards 1 td

They lost against Denver by 1 point. 23-24, I think he might have scored Pittsburgh's only touchdowns of the game.

Someone asked a good question, who was the last white to get 20 carries in a game. Ive noticed the more recent white backs, even when they do get significant carries it is usually not 20, but they get more receptions than the usual back, which is why I think yards from scrimmage should be included when talking about white backs, even though it will be great once another one goes over 1k rushing, its just a good point to bring up when dwfs say whites haven't done anything as backs since 1985.

Alstott was the last white back to get 1,000 yards from scrimmage in 1999 with 1188.
Alstott was the closest to getting there with rushing yards alone with 949

Brad Muster had 1 in 1990 with 1116. (did this with only 188 touches)

Merril Hoge had 2, 1 in 1988 with 1192 (he did most of this in a 8 game stretch)
and 1 in 1990 with 1114

Tom Rathman came close in 1989 with 921. (with only 152 touches)

This is why its ridiculous to think only Reggie Bush type backs are capable receivers out of the backfield. White backs are usually the complete package, running, pass blocking and receiving.
Like I said, I know its not the same as only rushing, but if whites can get 1000
yards in a season for their team, that is a significant contribution, so why shouldn't
more see playing time in the backfield besides being a battering ram. They have proven that if you give them the ball, they will produce, whether it be rushing or receiving, they excel at both. Hopefully Petyon will keep up the pace and end the drought for 1k rushing.

Sorry for the long rant, but yeah, Hoge was the last one to have two consecutive 100 yard rushing games. I completely forgot about him.

Those two games were the best of Hoge's career. In the Denver game he had 100 yards rushing at halftime. I was so psyched watching that game, which the underdog Steelers nearly pulled offon the road inDenver. They had started off that season losing to the Browns 51-0 at home and then were blown out by the Bengals 41-10, but finished 9-7 and snuck into the playoffs as a wildcard team.

Afterwards, the Denver defensive players were making the same kind of complimentary remarks about Hoge that the Ravens defenders did after Hillis ran for 144 yards against them. Others envisioned Pro Bowls for him.

Unfortunately, Hoge rarely was able to turn it up like that in regular season games. Edited by: Don Wassall
