KP-i'm not gonna argue with you on this. i just offered an educated opinion about running styles and talent sets, not an endrosement of dillon. but to compare dillon now to when he was in his prime is faulty logic.

WL- white tailbacks, as with any white skill guys, have the deck stacked against them from the start. Kretschmer had a world of potential, but when he blew his knee, that was all the excuse the powers that be needed to disregard his obvious talents. they did the same thing to Staley as well, although he had a significantly larger history of injuries.

with Bell, we must pray that not only does he continue to kick a$$ but that he must also maintain a clean bill of health. anything as forbidden as a phenomenally gifted white TB will be under tremendous scrutiny and therefore he must not give ANY excuse to the idiots in power to cast him aside.

The following is ironically related to the decline of white running backs.
Corey Dillon is not the fastest running back. He is not the most elusive. He is not the strongest. He can do things that most running backs in football cannot.
1) He can follow his blocking and watch for holes to open, and look for plays to develop.
2) He picks up his knees and plays low to the ground allowing him to be a very punishing runner.
3) He has a stiff arm that not to many people can compete with.
Many of the people on Caste Football have overlooked these attributes. The irony is that many white players are underrated and overlooked because no one notices physical running. The same thing that many of you missed when evaluating Dillon is the same thing that scouts miss when evaluating white players, physical play.

I believe we have every right to be a little more critical of the black athletes because of what we see on a yearly basis with the white athletes we root for.Dillon is a descent back but we are getting off the whole point of discussion. You could almost compare Kyle Bell to Jackie Robinson.I know it's not the same but think how hard it was for Robinson to break this belief that he could not play at this level.Bell has to try to make people believe that a white can be a running back and a damn good one at that. How do you change peoples perceptions and attitudes. It won't be easy & no matter how good he is,it still may not be enough. There will be people who just will never give Kyle a chance.Let's hope that some team will buck the trend, draft him and play him as a starter!

I just found out some bad news for Kyle Bell. There will be 2 of the starting offensive lineman out of the game on Saturday against Utah. This really hurts because now he will have backups in there that will not be able to create the holes that the starters have.Bell will have alot tougher time this week against a tough, hungry Utah team.I wish him the best.He is a tough kid and I still think that he will find a way to break some big runs.

WL, I think those linemen were out when he picked up many of those yards in the second half ,so maybe the second unit guys can do the job. And as far as comparing Kyle Bell's running style to anyone else's, I say he is the first Kyle Bell and he runs with his own style.

I agree with that last sentence KG. I say let him run the ball until he breaks some records and then we can say that he runs like the wind!

Well Jimmy, sounds like you're arguing. When I rip Corey Dillion you have to know that I think 90% of the running backs in the NFL are overrated - that's just my opinion. As far as using faulty logic, I was talking about Dillion's entire career - you brought up last year with the patriots. I don't think you can bring that up and then say 6 months later that he is no longer in his prime. I do agree with you on speed being overrated as we are now seeing a complete lack of power positive yardage running in the NFL.

Kyle Bell possesses speed and power as well as height which should also make him an excellent recieving target. Anybody know what time the game is and if it is on TV?

The game against Utah starts at 4:30 Mountain Time and will be broadcast locally in Utah on Channel 14, KJZZ. It will be on ESPN's gameplan too. I think there is a blackout in Colorado for the game. I can't find it anywhere in the state on a local network.

Also, here's a good article from the CSU newspaper on Kyle Bell.

Here's a link to a pic from the front page of the Collegian, featuring a big write up on Kyle. Warning: it's a pdf file and is pretty big.

Wow! Kyle Bell ran 49 yards for a touchdown with 2:36 left in the fourth quarter to give CSU the come from behind win 21-17!! He had 25 rushes for 139 yards. He just keeps doing it!

David Anderson had 8 receptions for 126 and a score. The game wasn't on here, it must have been a great one to watch.

I'm frustrated. The game hasn't been on out here for 3 weeks in a row now and I'm right next to Colorado.I'm going to have to find a good sports bar with a Satellite that shows these games.Way to go Colorado State and especially to Anderson/Bell. Kyle Bell is as important to our cause as any athlete in all of sports right now.I truley believe that! What a game!Way to go Bell and as I predicted,David Anderson had a huge game!I love these guys!!

Kyle had 25 carries for 139 yards, including a 49 yard TD! It was awesome the way he ran right over people, and around them too. Way to go Kyle!

I wonder if we'll see him on any highlights reels, ESPN or Foxsports. Any one willing to bet?

If you do, you'll see the big run he made to put CSU up for good. I gotta admit, I plunked down $20 for ESPN's online gameplan today so I could watch him and Brian Leonard while I worked. I think it was worth it. I don't know if I'll do it again though. I don't like supporting ESPN. I guess I got my moneys worth though. I watched from about 11:30 to 7!

I have to agree with you there white lightning! I will be cheering for the Rams too. I think I'm gonna hawk my BYU student ticket for a CSU ticket!

A friend of mine is going to try to go to the game with me if he gets off of work early enough. It's Homecoming at BYU and the game doesn't start till 8:00 Mountain time. I might even buy a CSU hat this week, if I can find one. I promise as soon as I get back from the game, I'll fill ya'll in on all the action.

Looks like the Rams are starting to turn the corner. Their biggest weakness is defense.

We shouldn't forget about David Anderson, he had another great 100+
yard game today. Too bad Luke Roberts didn't get much action.

OK so after 5 weeks, where does Kyle Bell stand nation wide against the best running backs in the country.First off, don't forget that he didn't start until the 3rd game.

Kyle is now currently 10th in the nation in rushing yards with an average of 120.8 yards per game.Guess who is number 11,none other than Reggie Bush of USC who the media builds up more than Superman. Then Bush has a teammate L.White who is 8th in rushing.L.White averages123.2 yards per game.I find it amusing that he is already ahead of Bush and about to pass White. These guys are supposed to be the best running backs that ever lived playing on a far superior team!

My point is even though they share playing time, the media wouldn't even put Bell in their category of talent. We all know he is just as good if not better than the both of them.Kyle Bell is the real deal!I can really see him cracking the top 5 by seasons end in rushing.Of course the stupid media & fans will say it is only because he plays in the Mountain West Conference. If that was the case, all of the running backs of the various teams in the conf. would be kicking ass.Only Bell is!I think I rest my case.Kyle Bell desereves respect! The best thing is that he is only a sophmore!Way to go Kyle!

Look out Utah,Bell is on his way.BYU better be ready because this kid is as hungry as Colonel Reb on Thanksgiving.Ha.ha.I know it's a week away but damn does this kid get me pumped up.What a great running back.I love the way he stiff arms people and just punishes the defense as the game goes on.He had 97 yards rushing in the 4th quarter.Kyle took the game over.He touched the ball all five times on the final series and then took it 49 yards for the win!Amazing.Go Rams.Go Kyle Bell.

This Is Kyle Bells first season as a starter too. He has less experience then the overly hyped Adrian Peterson and yet is doing much better.

You know why I'm so hungry at Thanksgiving right? It's because I'm usually ready to go watch the Egg Bowl. Not this year! I'll be stuffing my face (not really)and watching some NFL team on TV out here in Utah.

Interestingly enough Kyle Bell and Lendale White of USC went to the same High School. In Lendale's best season at that HS he rushed for 1,800 and something yards - not bad. But, in Kyle Bells best season he rushed for about 900 yards more than that! What's more he rushed for 8,200 and something yards (Colorado all-time record and 12th all-time record in the nation)over his HS career averaging more yards per year every year (freshmen-senior) than Lendale's best year!!! Though Bell blew away Lendale's numbers and was bigger and faster than Lendale, he was not recruited by USC - only mountain west schools seemed to have any interest.

Someone posted an article on the board here about Bell last year (probably White Lightning), and the excuse given in it for CSU being one of just two I-A schools who recruited him (Utah was the other) was that his high school was too small, it wasn't the biggest classification in Colorado high school football. That obviously didn't deter anyone's interest in Lendale White, but of course the censorship that prevails about the Caste System prevented the real reason from being stated. The way things are, at least Colorado State did recruit him and give him a chance.
