The kid is going to be a nba superstar. Great to see especially since he is on a big market team and he will get so much publicity. He looks like a taller version of Ivan Drago from Rocky IV. Lol He is the real deal though. I will have to watch some more Knicks Games.

The clip I saw of the NBA draft was not a "smattering of boos", but full on booing by the Knicks fans, totally disrespecting Porzingis in what should have been one of the greatest moments of his life. Fortunately he has the game to kick some ass, and now these drunks are chanting MVP.

The article fails to mention that Carmelo Anthomy openly criticized the team for drafting Porzingis. It will be interesting to see whether Carmelo's ego can handle Porzingis' popularity. I expect Anthony to either start freezing out Porzingis or maybe cheap shot him in practice to cause an injury. We'll see...

That these mostly White American fans reacted that way, without knowing anything about him, shows just how deeply ingrained their Pavlovian conditioning has been by the tribe.

It's also why there really hasn't been that many good or great White basketball players (or boxers) from the US (save for a few) over the past fifty years or so, even though there has been approximately 100 million White men in this country consistently during that time. Yet other, much smaller countries, like Latvia, where Porzingis comes from, or, from a boxing standpoint, the Ukraine, Poland, etc. can produce some great candidates because they haven't undergone the same type of conditioning...yet.

Leading up to the NBA draft Porzingis was listed as 7'1''. Now he is listed as 7"3''. The guy is huge. He is very skilled and agile for his size and age, can shoot from the outside (even 3 pointers), but also likes to post up and mix it up inside. Like the article said, he is way farther along than anyone thought he would be at this stage. He has a scary amount of upside.

Porzingis tonight with 24/14/7 blocks, 8-12 from the field, 2-3 from 3, 6-6 from the line, as NY beats Houston. He scored as much as James Harden, who also had 24, and outscored his all star teammate Carmelo Anthony who had 18. The Knicks are now 8-6 which is a huge improvement over last year.

This kid is almost too good to be true.

It appears New York City is quickly becoming plagued with Porzingis Fever. No, it’s not a horrible third-world disease, it’s the widespread appreciation of Knicks rookie big man Kristaps Porzingis, who has been doing his best to prove he was worth the fourth overall pick in this past summer’s draft.

Tonight was the first game I've watched of Porzingis. All he has to do is stay healthy and he will be a beast in no time.

He is the real deal and will benefit from another 10-15 which should come naturally in an offseason of working out. Get excited gentleman, because this is going to be a JJ Watt level of dominance.

I love what this kid is doing, but he's only been in the league for a few weeks.
This is one of my main criticisms of the DWF 'culture'. How quickly fans will boo (like they did when the Porzingis draft was made), and conversely how quickly they will praise. Some people are already likening Putback Porzingis to a Hall-of-Fame Dirk.. The Lin-sane Knick DWF is on a mindless, pointless emotional roller coaster with their team. I honestly think it's a mild form of mental illness, easily diagnosed by their cars and/or houses covered in team swag.
Give this kid a season or two.. see where he stands ?..

I love Dirk but Porzingis is truly something we have never seen before..Listed at 7'3 the guy comes off screens like a small forward, can block the shots of some of the NBA's best, and also dunk on them too. I don't think he should be compared to Dirk just because there both seven foot Euro's..I honestly think he can be a more versatile Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

I actually like that comparison. Also Sabonis in his prime is another good player to comparte him too. He had 5 blocks tonight. He blocks many of the shots with two hands like he is stuffing a volleyball over a net. It is amazing to watch. He is intimidating. The kid has all around talent. The Knicks made a wise choice.

When he was drafted 4th overall, he was loudly booed by the vile DWF's in attendance. ESPN found this humiliating moment amusing and played the footage often this past summer. Great to see the 20-year old Latvian giant playing so well as a rookie.

Excellent post. I noticed this as well. ESPN was hoping he'd be a flop. instead he's looking like best player in his class! The DWFs were just probably pissed their NY Knicks would waste their lottery pick on a tall Blonde kid. Kudos to Phil Jackson in seeing Porzingis' talent .

It looks like Porzingis will be out until around New Year's, recovering from his ACL injury last February. Let's keep our fingers crossed he comes back strong and he suffers no lingering effects.
