Vitali Klitschko usually had his left hand, and sometimes both hands, hanging down by his waist.

I know, that works well against short guys. Against Lennox though, it was a different story.

Nope. Vitali was ahead on all the cards. Lewis should have been disqualified. He spent the whole night deliberately cutting Vitali's face by raking his glove across it and then rubbing his steel wool hair into the cut. I once watched the film of the fight in slow mo and noted down all the exact times that he did that. Vitali had never even been cut once before that, in his kickboxing and boxing career.

Vitali beat Lewis while protecting a cut. No cut he would of clean his clock by the 10th.

Well, you make a good Point. However, what youre talking about is a general offensive strategy, I was saying he almost never uses the traditional guard even when he is on the defensive. There are times when the opponent is clearly attacking and Wlad is "playing defense", but he never uses a conventional guard. I understand that he isnt an orthodox fighter, but even then, one must occasionally Wall up behind ones guard (if you are out angled, trapped against the ropes, tired etc).

Also the "Hands low" Approach is usually only good against smaller guys and if your are athletically superior. In his last two bouts he was 40 and had a reach disadvantage. The result is clear.
Also Pulev lost because his Hands werent protecting his head. thats a defensive fail.

Well Chris, yes, he could have fought with a high guard while under attack, but what I tried to express is Wlad is not puncher first he's a boxer first. Punchers like Mike Tyson or Matthysse carry a high guard to some success. It is really only his left that Wlad keeps low anyway as his right is always high. Some boxers like to drop the left because they find it works better to disguise counters with while on defense. Golovokin is a vicious counter puncher and he doesn't carry his hands as a guy like Joshua. Keeping the guard very high may be more protective but it also blocks a boxer's vision and makes his punches easier to see. Watch Calzaghe, Lomachenko, Pep, Mayweather, Hopkins, and Tunney; all of these masters hold their hands in a variety of ways. So, while it may seem like keeping two hands high is the best possible position to defend, what matters more is control of distance, mechanics, and timing. Wlad has lost a bit of each one of those three and that's why his style didn't work.

So Cal
Right now he one of our few hopes to topple AJ and prevent Wilder from keeping their titles. The worm has turned, hopefully for only a short period.
