DWFs burn Cutler's jersey after the Black Bears lose to the Packers:

Jay Cutler under attack for leaving Bears' loss with knee injury

The Chicago Bears defended QB Jay Cutler on Sunday after he came under withering criticism from fans, analysts and even fellow players for having left an NFC title game loss to the Green Bay Packers with a knee injury.

Cutler exited the game, with the Bears trailing 14-0, early in the third quarter. He remained on the sidelines, spending some of the remainder of the game looking sullen in a seat on the bench and some of it standing on the sideline

Third-stringer Caleb Hanie rallied the Bears in a game they would eventually lose 21-14, but some fans took out their frustration on Cutler by burning his jersey in the parking lots outside Soldier Field.

Fellow NFL players questioned Cutler's toughness on Twitter during the game, and ESPN analyst and former Super Bowl-winning QB Trent Dilfer called him out after the game.

"You can play this position (QB) hurt," Dilfer said on ESPN. "Some of us have."

Cutler said he hurt his knee late in the second quarter and said he was unable to play effectively after trying just after halftime. (Video of Cutler's remarks below.)

"We gave it a go in that first series," Cutler said, "but couldn't plant and throw, so ..."

Players such as Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew and Cardinals DT Darnell Dockett suggested on Twitter that Cutler had let his teammates down.

But Bears LB Brian Urlacher rejected those who would question Cutler.

"Jay was hurt," Urlacher said.. "I don't question his toughness. He's one of the toughest guys on our â€" he's tough as hell. He's one of the toughest guys on our football team. He doesn't bitch, he doesn't complain when he gets hit, he goes out there and plays his ass off every Sunday, practices every day.
"So, no, we don't question his toughness."

Bears coach Lovie Smith said there was no hesitation to pull Cutler after officials determined his knee was too sore to play. He appeared to grow agitated by repeated questions about Cutler's status.

"He hurt his knee, and he was out," Smith said. "There's nothing else for me to tell you on that."

The Packers earned a berth in the Super Bowl with the 21-14 win. Before exiting, Cutler was 6-for-14 for 80 yards with an INT. He was sacked twice.

Cutler could not identify on which play he was hurt, and said he hoped surgery would not be needed.

He said it was a "lonely feeling" sitting on the bench in the second half while first Todd Collins and then Hanie replaced him.

Asked if he was disappointed when the decision to lift him was made, Cutler said, "I knew that it was probably better that I didn't."

On Twitter, Jones-Drew and Dockett were among several players who commented on Cutler's status.
<UL>
<LI>Said Jones-Drew: "Hey I think the urban meyer rule is effect right now... When the going gets tough........QUIT.. ... All I'm saying is that he can finish the game on a hurt knee... I played the whole season on one..."
<LI>Said Dockett: "If I'm on chicago team jay cutler has to wait till me and the team shower get dressed and leave before he comes in the locker room!"</LI>[/list]

Cutler said he had "no comment" when asked about the criticism of his toughness after the game.

The report on ESPN and Yahoo Sports is that Cutler tore his MCL. Let's see now if there are any mea culpas from all his critics questioning his injury and toughness in the last 24 hours. The story is the doctor and trainer prevented him from playing any further in that game and the doctor in charge on the scene at any NFL game has the full right to prevent a player from playing if he so chooses.

Urlacher defending him which is kind of ironic since Urlacher was a big critic of Cutler to begin with.

I have never heard of such criticism of a player that was injured. It's bizzarre! The guy hurt his knee, he's out and that's it. When was the last time a guy was hurt and the fans burned his jersey? Guys get hurt all of the time and can't go, it's part of the game. Why would the home town fans pile on an injured player like that? Sports is sure getting ugly, like the rest of society.

Chicago has passed Philly for the most violent DWF's. Burning a guys jersey that blew out his knee is idiotic even by DWF standards. This is the same town that ran the guy out of town that interfered with a foul ball in an epic Cubs blowup. Well maybe I will give the DWF's a pass on that one...

Cutler carried that offense. If he wasn't the QB that team would have not been in that position in the first place. They had a terrible offensive line and no wide recievers. Chicago should be happy they have him as QB.

The MSM is just POed because "Hatie isn't in the Super Bowl!" Derrick Brooks said as much.. "that he really wanted Lovie to return to the Super Bowl."

That's what this is all about.

Imagine if a fan burned a black player's jersey. He would have been arrested for a Hate Crime.

It happened with Lebron and the usual suspects screamed out loud that it reminded them of a public lynching. Notice Jackson and Sharpton haven't said anything about this. If this guy gets attacked at a Chicago restaurant you won't see Jackson at his bedside....Edited by: white is right

I can't believe Sanders had the nerve to question Jay's toughness and pretend he'd play no matter what when he missed almost 2 seasons with a stubbed toe. It's easier and safer to numb a toe than a knee, yet Sanders still couldn't play on it and I think it's why he retired. Cutler played 2 quarters with his torn ligament which was clearly effecting his game. That's tough in my book!

I think Urlacher said it best. Why haven't any affletes on the Bears come to Cutler's defense? I knew Cutler would be made the scapegoat. The DWF's have already forgotten about some of the pathetic plays of the affletes on the Bears.

Chicago Bear fans are about as fickle and petty as LSU fans, and that is saying something. The Bears have a pathetic O-line and the rate at which they let their QB get knocked around is horrible. Considering all that, it should be the line and/or the coaches that should get the criticism. Urlacher hinted at the line being at fault because they let Cutler get hit too much. I don't think a new head coach would improve things in Chicago, as far as their treatment of White QBs. It is DTFdom at its worst and I don't see the epidemic of anti-white hate stopping any time soon.

I read an AP article yesterday that had some of his black teammates defending him -- but that was only after the severity of Cutler's injury became known.

That's surprising, Don. Hatie Smiffs explanation wasn't very supportive of Cutler.

Cutler hasn't very supportive of Cutler. After the game he and his group show up at a restaurant and he walks up to the second story private area. In his defense it was said he had a slight limp.

i don't blame Cutler for not being able to play. he was injured and the doctors didn't want him to go back in. that's fine. do i think that there are guys that could have gone back in with the exact same injury? yes i do. there are some guys that have the ability to shut the pain out or grin and bear it. that said, those guys are extremely rare. you can't blame Cutler for not being able to play qb with a torn MCL. there are a ton of qbs out there with two healthy MCLs that can't play qb either. just look at Todd Collins. the qb position is the most demanding in football. its asinine for people to jump on this guys throat when he did in fact have a legitimate injury.

i do however question Cutler's intelligence. or maybe the intelligence of his pr guy or agent. the LAST thing he should of been doing after sitting out the second half, is going out for drinks with his friends. its common sense. and the climbing the stairs bit was just plain dumb. like it or not, football is a business, and going out in public for drinks after sitting out the 2nd half of a playoff game your team loses, is bad business.

From what I gather, much of the Illinois caste system media isn't doing much to quell the criticism of Jay. They aren't talking up the fact that he really was hurt, or even mentioning what his specific injury is. Par for the course when you are talking about a White player, but especially a White QB in Chicago, where the DWFs are among the worst in the country.

Most of the media clowns are not in Cutler's corner, for sure. However, I heard one Chicago talk show host defending Cutler during a show yesterday afternoon.

He said Cutler has been taking a beating on the field the last couple of years and has taken a lot of punishment. He said it was stupid to question his toughness.

He said Cutler was pounded so badly in the Giants game that after a particular vicious sack he staggered to his feet and in a daze walked over to the wrong side of the field thinking it was his sideline. He returned shortly afterwards and was to take more punishment.

The host felt if Cutler had been able to play without hurting his team he certainly would have.

I would add that it is silly to question his heart because he does not have a history of chickening out.

Contrast his treatment to that of AHDIW who has had multiple incidents of wimping out!

Did the bruvas around the league jump on his case? Headly, he is always defended.

"Peon" Deion was a major candy@$$ on the field. He was scared to take on runners (head) on & was crap for a tackler.

Aaron Rodgers defends Jay Cutler

Before the Green Bay Packers really start cramming to get ready for the Super Bowl, Aaron Rodgers wanted to make a few things clear.

First, Rodgers says he didn't sustain a concussion on a helmet-to-helmet hit from Chicago Bears lineman Julius Peppers in Sunday's NFC championship game victory. He believes his new helmet may have helped prevent another head injury.

And on the subject of injuries, Rodgers has heard people questioning the toughness of Bears quarterback Jay Cutler this week and thinks it's "very inappropriate" and "disrespectful."
"I was real disappointed, to be honest with you," Rodgers said Wednesday. "I've known Jay for a few years now and know what kind of competitor he is. I thought it was disrespectful, some of the stuff said about him."

Cutler was criticized by current and former players, fans and media members after leaving Sunday's game because of a knee injury.

There has never been a more ignorant, more asinine fan in all of sports, with a sense of snobbish entitlement, than Chicago sports fans. Especially North side yuppie Cubs fans as well as Bears fans. They are the worst. Even worse than the belligerent drunks of the Philadelphia Vet stadium or the Mad Max post apocalyptic looking deviants of the old L.A. Raiders. Like the Cubs, the world is just a better place when the Bears lose and the fans are pissing and moaning in their cheap Old Style beer.

I had a feeling before the season that Cutler would be hated by the DWF's and players. I remember Don agreed with me on that one.

I think the situation is pretty clear for Hatie Smiff. Get yourself a few black quarterbacks as backups to Cutler just like Mike Singeltary had in San Francisco. This way if Cutler "quits" on the team again you have plenty of "talent" at the quarterback position.
