It's time to start a thread for Jan Volko. This 20 year old has come onto the senior level track
scene with a force. He took 2nd at the European Indoor Champs in the 60 meters. He then went
on to win a silver medal and a gold medal in the Euro Under 23 Champs. Jan Volko is only 20 years
of age and I really think he will have a chance to be a true duel threat sprinter. He already is the indoor
and outdoor record holder for his country over 60, 100 and 200 meters. One to watch!

I'm going to try to keep Goutier Dautremer in mind too. His best before these champs was 20.92 - so he dropped more than 1/4 second today. He only set a 100 PB of 10.44 this month so that was a fine 200 in 20.66.
IAAF profile has a 10.61 last PB from when he was 17 (2012) so he may be returning to the sport

I noticed him too. He has a great natural stride and it almost looked like he backed off at the end. He looks like one of those guys that maybe just needs to get stronger....not necessarily bigger, but just add strength. The German fellow looked like a power runner, just a bit sloppy on this run. He has potential too.

I saw him as too hunched and not a natural, easy loper. I wonder if there's much to improve on there?

I like his high knee stride and full arm swing, his upper torso is leaning a bit too far forward like you say giving him a hunched over look, it also hinders breathing a bit which can affect his times. Other than that this kid has a very bright future in the 100 and 200, he and Tortu are on about the same time paths in both events but I see Tortu ending up being faster in the next 3-4 years. But hey isnt it great to have these 2 young white speedsters to cheer for? Yeehaw!!!

Next weekend are the national championships. I predict he beats his 100 meter p.b. and maybe his 200 p.b as ell
although it depends on how tired he is and the weather. He looks good in training.

Jan Volko does it again. He ran for a new personal best and a new national record of 20.24 in the 200 meters
finals today at the national champinships. Outstanding time considering he doesn't run the deuce that much. His
speed endurance is really impressive. The guy just continues to improve and I love watching him run.

Volkos time would have placed him second ahead of Johan Blakes cousin in the Canadian Nationals senior mens race...

Jan Volko - We've been following this 22 year old sprinter for 4 years now -what a body of work he has:
2017 European under 23 100m Silver
2017 European under 23 200m Gold
2017 European 60m Silver
2017 World University 200m Bronze
2018 World 60m Final 6th place
2019 European 60m Gold
I'm hoping for a banner season for Volko. He may never be a sub 10 sprinter but it's his ability to perform at pressure that impresses me for his age. He's tough and determined.
A sub 10.10 legal would be a nice incremental step up this season
