No body seemsto be talking much about himbut so far ina limited role hehas averaged 6.6 yards a carryon about ten carries in the last two games. He isalso very versitile he can play both RB and reciever. I think he could endup being a very good prospect and future NFLer. Edited by: Don Wassall

Here is what Rivals had to say. Salina, Kansas running back/cornerback Jake Sharp has speed that you just can't teach. Size may prevent Sharp from being a factor at running back in college, but his speed should make him a solid contributor early in his career as a Jayhawk. See and hear why Jake Sharp could be a hidden gem at the next level.

He made a dumb move going to KU. If Colorado State wanted him he would have a much better chance of playing there. He should be reading CASTEFOOTBALL!!

I can't believe that this is the first week I've even heard of this kid. I thought I knew every white RB in Div 1A. Anyhow, he's having a pretty good game against Kansas St. today. He's got some serious wheels and after a couple more years of getting stronger and more carries, I think he could be drafted.

Oh I'm on top of the Kan-KSU game, buddy. This IS the game to watch right now: Jordy Nelson, Jake Sharp, Ian Cambell. It's good stuff.

Yeah I'm surprised I haven't heard of him either. He's up to 60 yards with less than 12 in the 3rd. Here's the pic of his 20 yd TD run:

If you'd have paid attention, you'd have known about Jake many moons ago. We started talking about him and posting his stats last year.

Unfortunately Jake Sharp got outrushed by a yard by teammate Brandon McAnderson

Either way still an good game for Sharp, hopefully he will still get the majority of carries next game.

Sharp looked like he was in for the majority of snaps to me. He also got 5 more carries than McAnderson. All in all, that KSU-KU game was a fantastic one to watch. I'll be keeping my eye out for future KU games.

I just finished watching a replay of the KU-K-State game and MAN, do I like Sharp! He has speed, quickness and some power too.

K-State's Jordy Nelson is a hell of a player too, but I found that out last week.

and i finally got to see Jake Sharp play, and he looks impressive.

edited to add: also, back-up quarterback/wide receiver/playmaker Kerry Meier might be the fastest guy on the Jayhawks team. he doesn't really have a position, but the coaches rave about his speed and playmaking ability. hopefully, they will find a way to utilize his talents...Edited by: Jimmy Chitwood

Hopefully they let him play QB, Freeman sucks.

My mistake, I got that one mixed up about Meier. Freeman still sucks though.

This kid is living up to the hype. The really great thing is that Kansas is also undefeated. He will get some great exposure as long as the Jayhawks continue to win. Way to go Jake!

It's funny that both Kentucky and Kansas are playing so good in football. They are usually only known for kicking butt in basketball. It's nice to see them having some sucess.

Yeah this Jake Sharp kid seems to be the real deal and the best part is he's only a SOPHOMORE!! He's got two more years to pile up numbers and prove that he is a legit RB. Especially playing in a conference like the Big12. That's something a guy like Kyle Bell can unfortunately not say.

Here we go... Jake will lose carries to a rapist:

KANSAS DEFENDS JUCO TRANSFER

KANSAS DEFENDS JUCO TRANSFER

The Kansas football program is defending itself against criticism of junior college transfer Jocques Crawford, a running back with a troubled past.

Last year Crawford was the national junior college offensive player of the year, rushing for 1,935 yards and 19 touchdowns at Cisco Junior College in Texas.

But in 2005 he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor simple assault after an incident involving a 15-year-old girl. Crawford, who was 17 at the time, was at first charged with aggravated rape. The girl said Crawford and two other boys forced her to perform oral sex. As a result, Crawford spent time in a juvenile detention facility, missed most of his senior year of high school, and had scholarship offers withdrawn.

He committed to Texas Tech out of high school but couldn't pass the academic requirements, which is why he went to Cisco. This year he's expected to be a major part of the Jayhawks' offense.

But Kansas officials say his troubles are behind him.

"We recruited Jocques because he is a good person and a good football player," coach Mark Mangino said in a prepared statement. "We know that since the incident, Jocques has conducted himself in an exemplary manner and has done what he needed to do to put the incident behind him."

If that's true, Crawford has every right to get an education and pursue a job in the NFL. But he and Kansas had better be ready for heavy scrutiny.Edited by: Gi-15

I hope Jake runs his sorry black tail into the dirt. What a shame it would be for Jake to have to perenially split carries.
