Yeah, even the announcers are wondering why Sharp isn't in. If Kansas loses this game, it is because Sharp isn't in.

Also, with Sharp not in, not surprisingly, I flipped channels and am watching the Cal-Minnesota game right now.

4th series in a row with no Sharp ... still no word on the reason. the KU running game has gone extinct in his absence, and their offense is really struggling to move the ball against an anemic Duke defense.

edited to add: third straight 3-and-out for the KU offense. even their passing game has gone cold, as Duke isn't worried about the run, and are teeing off in the pass rush.

if Sharp doesn't come back, this may be a loooooooong day for Jayhawk fans.Edited by: Jimmy Chitwood

Sharp gets back in. Finally. and another 3-and-out as he gets no touches and a black wideout drops a sure touchdown.

Sharp touchdown!

he ducked his shoulder on a swing pass, and scored.

seriously, though, something weird is going on with him and the land walrus today ...Sharp looks healthy. so what gives?

Marc Man"gina" is making the exact same idiot mistake as last year. Last year, he tried to make "sex offender" transfer Jacques Crawford the starting tailback from the first day he got on campus. That experiment was a big failure and caused Kansas problems until Sharp finally got to play in the second half to help them come back against a lousy Iowa State team. Today even the black sideline reporter eluded to the mistake of not playing Sharp after the booth guys touched the subject. Then the halftime crew talked about the lack of running game after mentioning that Sharp was on the sideline coming off two 100 yard games in a row.

Sharp is a back that needs to get a few carries before he finds his grove. However, Mangina is angry that a white boy is the most athletic player on his team and shows him for "the elephant in the room" he really is, when they stand side by side.

I have a feeling Opurum was pushing for more carries and had the support of a brotha teammate or two. Then Sharp had a word with the coach asking why he had to split hand offs "evenly" last game. My theory is Marc Mangina got angry at being called out and has responded passive aggressively. Think there is any truth to this theory? It makes zero sense unless there was some "locker room dysfunction". Will someone in the media be brave enough to discuss this elephant in the room? (describes both the situation and Man"gina").

well, the black kid finally makes a play. a nice one-handed grab on 4th down to pick up the first.

still, he's no threat in the running game. and still no Sharp. the announcers are very confused, as am i. and apparently, so is Sharp, as he looked very frustrated when they showed him on the sideline.

a stat-stuffing, pointless run for the black kid. he gains 15 on 3rd-and-21.
Sharp hasn't touched the field in the second half.

well, it seems the "future" is now in Kansas. even ifaguy isbig andslow, as longas heis black then he can run the football. as a tailback!

the freshman negro has 17 carries for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns on the day, while Jake Sharp (who is the fastest player on the roster) is left watching and didn't step on the field in the second half.

this is more evidence that coaches only want speed if it comes from negroes.

the announcers were befuddled the entire game as to why Sharp wasn't playing, and i totally agree. the black kid is a strong, power runner, but Sharp can outrun him backwards and is a better receiver out of the backfield, as well.

the caste system never ceases to find ways to crush White athletes.

This makes me sick. I'm so tired of this fu**ing Caste System in sports and in life. The double standard everywhere you look. Jake Sharp is one of the best running backs in the nation and they bench him for nothing. This coach is an idiot. You would think he would know better. Damn I'm pissed off. They better play him next week!

How do we know he didn't do something like miss a meeting or break a team rule? Why is everyone assuming that the coaches just decided they don't like him this game?

If he broke a team rule something would have been mentioned during the game.

Because it wasn't announced. The media always knows those things about a star player like Jake. He did play in the game, but only sparingly in the first half. With the Caste System in place, assuming the worst usually makes you correct.

Opurum was very ineffective for the most part. Other than the surprise play call run on 3rd and 21 where he gained 15 yards, Opurum had 16 carries for 55 yards (that's 3.4 YPC). Sharp has played his tail off for this team and is a senior. Sharp is 3rd in Kansas scoring history. Sharp is also the better receiver and runs a 4.38- 40 compared to Opurum's 4.65.

Before this game Sharp had run for 6.1 YPC through 2 games and went over 100 yards in each. So a guy who looks like a top 10 tailback in the nation (and is a senior) and arguably was playing like the very best tailback in the Big 12 so far this year (when you count his receiving ability) is benched for a true freshman. This is unjust enough to make me want to vomit.

GUYS! i am sorry to say that but sometimes y'all behave like a bunch of f**kin women. harsh? maybe, but damn...
c'mon, even with caste system and all, there are some universal truths out there and they would never bench Sharp after what he did this season (and last)for no reason, even before WL's link i knew he was injured, that was plain to see.

I am going to have to disagree with that. Look at what happened to Mike Furrey after catching 98 balls a few seasons ago. That was second in the entire league. We also have to look at what happened to Peyton Hillis. He is obviously Denver's best running back.Edited by: whiteathlete33

Easy to say now backrow. Funny how you didn't post your opinion until now. I say there are no universal truths that favor white players when it comes to the irrational and nonsensical caste system. We can expect anything to happen to white skill players.

i just came home, and from reading this thread only it was pretty obvious to me. and yeah, for the most part i'd agree with you, but the coaches tend to need some reason/excuse or a black fall back plan to execute such a coupe.

an "undisclosed injury in practice?"

apparently, it was undisclosed to Sharp, as well. because hesure didn't act like he was injured while he was pacing on the sideline with a look of frustration on his face. hopefully, though, he will blow up next week.

but with the land walrus, you never know what will happen. he is ingenious at screwing over White players on his roster.

AGREED, jumping to conclusions like that is exactly what blacks do everytime they play the race card.
