As mentioned, Cooper Lutkenhaus set a National Record in this race . . . but others did well in this race too.
2nd place finisher, Owen Powell became the #6 performer all-time, and 3rd place finisher, Tiago Socarras became the #11 performer all time.

Check this out . . . an incredible triple from Natalie Dumas. She may be the next American women's track superstar.

This may be a name to look for in the next couple of years. Ally Brediger, a ninth grader from Ohio, ran an 11.72 100 meters in June. She also had an outstanding performance at the Adidas Track Nationals meet. She ran a 7.55 60, a 24.67 200, and a 57.84 400.

 
Here's video of William Landwer winning the Illinois State 3A 200m Championship, in a record time of 20.87.
 
Delaney Brinker had a fantastic meet at the Missouri Class 5 State T&F Championships this year.
She came 2nd in the 100m, and 1st in the 200m and 400m.
Her best times this year were: 11.74, 23.68, and 53.10.
She will be running track next year at Kansas State.

I looked for her online, and found this video of the Freshman 100m at the New Balance Nationals.
Ally came a close 3rd, but 1st place was another name to remember....Zoey Orlando.

In the last decade we have seen a slight uptick in the boys and girls making strides in high school track. It's great to see. Both of these young
ladies have a very bright future in front of them as they are only 14 years old. Good luck to both of them.

We need to give more attention to Natalie Dumas of New Jersey.
In addition to her incredible triple win at the New Jersey state championships (above); she repeated that triple at the New Balance Nationals Outdoors.
She won the 400m, the 400m hurdles, and the 800m. An unbelievable triple!
Her times were incredible too - 51.14 (#1 in the country); 55.99 (#2 fastest in the country); 2:00.11 (#1 in the country).
Additionally, all her times put her in the top 10 all-time for each event.
400m, No.8 HS performer all-time.
400m hurdles No.7 HS performer all-time.
800m No.5 HS performer all-time.

And P.S., she is a JUNIOR!

Here is her 800m race. Listen to the announcers after the race. They can barely find words to adequately describe her triple win.
 
How about this kid, 15 year old Bronson Hearn Smith from England?!
He has a best time of 10.65, and he runs so effortlessly. It looks like he is not even trying.

Very impressive. There is alot more there. Wow he literally looked like he jogged the whole race and wasn't even tired. So relaxed!
 
I wonder if that Bronson Hearn Smith is on the autism spectrum. He has a peculiar lack of affect when he runs.
 
Now here is something amazing!!
16year old Sorato Shimizu of Japan, ran a world age group best of 10.00 (+1.7) in the 100m!! That is 0.09s faster than previous best for a 16 year old, set by Puripol Boonson of Thailand.
It's also a World U18 record, and an Asian U20 Record, and equal 8th on the World all-time U20 list, and he has another 3 years as an U20 athlete!
Just Incredible!!

Absolutely amazing. Is it me, or do these athletes seem to be reaching their ceilings at young and younger ages.

Japan has a population of over 123 million people in 2025. It is the 12th largest population in the world. The fact that they have stayed true to their people has helped them in the scholastic world, sports world and the business world. This kid is amazing. Again it goes to show that any ethnicity can run fast. Not just blacks even though we have been told that lie our whole life!

If only Europe could show racial solidarity and not betray their own people and nations. Poland and Hungary are 2 of the only countries to fight back against the forced illegal migration that is intended to eradicate and erase white people off the face of the earth. Whites of European Ancestry only make up 7% of the humans on earth!!!
 
I'm still digesting Sorato Shimizu's 10.00 at the age of 16. I don't see that it has been ratified yet. It breaks the caste in so many ways if it does.

Per the stereotype, 10.00 is a time for muscular, juiced up black men. How is it done by a slight Asian boy??

I went to high school with blacks. I saw firsthand that many of them were full grown men by age 16 (even 14 in some cases). For this reason, I don't get super impressed when they produce prodigy times.

It's also a testament to the impetuousness of youth. When you are 16, anything is possible. You have not internalized worldly limitations yet. My hope is that all kinds of pressure does not now come down on him like what happened with Matt Shirvington and others.

Sorato Shimizu followed up his incredible 100m race, with an outstanding victory in the 200m. His time was 20.39 (2.7w).
I wonder what we will see from this kid in the future?
 
Another amazing performance from a 16 year old at the Japanese Inter-High School Championships, was Taiju Goto winning the 400m hurdles in a Asian U18 record time of 49.84. Second place ran 49.98.
Goto just turned 16 in May, and apparently this is his first year running the 400m hurdles.
Btw, these hurdles are at senior level height.
