Dyestat is posting videos of the events.
All 3 heats of the Boys 110m hurdles were won by white guys.
Jenna Prandini was the top qualifier in the LJ by more than a foot!
Glad to hear the Jamison won his heat.
Not glad to hear that he is running so many races!
I got my fingers crossed for all of the above mentioned athletes.

I just watched Prandini's 100 heat. She's a freak. She has top 3 national marks this year in the 100, Long jump and Triple Jump. Her 100 heat was amazing, watch the video. She may be a future Olympian.

Looks like Jordan scratched in the 200. Probably a smart move to focus on the 4x100 and the 100. I guess they had the same concerns I had.Edited by: oxnardlocal

I was just watching Prandini's race while you were posting. She looked awesome! Strong and smooth.
But Amber Purvis in heat 4 just put up the fastest time in the country. So it will be a great race betw the 2 of them tomorrow.
Also the announcers said that she scratched from the 200m; and I thought to myself, Jamison should do the same. And now you tell me that he has - good news!
It's seems the results site is frozen, but dyestat continues to update the videos. I'm waiting for Jamison's....

I watched both Jamison and Prandini win their heats to make the finals. They both look very powerful but also very smooth. Prandini has such a long stride to go with those gazelle like legs of hers. She really has amazing potential heading into college. Jamison also looks like he is strong physically and mentally. I like this kids form. Hoping for them to shock everyone in the finals.

Just saw Jamison's race. Very good, but not as good as his race at the Sectionals. He had a better start there.
He will need that kind of start again in the finals.I watched all the heats and the competition is tough.

I agree not a good start, but he still beat his time from last week. I think Jordan, McClain and Farmer are very close it's going be who runs the more technical race in my opinion.

White Lightning- I agree, with both Jordan and Prandini competing at the such a high level the future of white american sprinters is looking better. The anchor for Rio Mesa's 4x100 number 1 qualifying team is Blake Selig is just a soph more and another future prospect.

Jamison's time - 10.451 - puts him almost equal to Matt Bruno's high school best time - 10.45.
Does anyone know where I can find an all time list for California High Schools?

Here is a photo of Jamison Jordan
http://www.vcstar.com/news/2010/may/29/a-real-speed-master/

He has the fastest HS 100m time in the state of California - 10.52.
Also, Jenna Prandini (a junior) has the fastest girls 100m time in California - 11.46!!!
This is amazing stuff!
Let's hope they can both win the State Championships. That might wake up a few people!

Jenna Prandini won her heat at the Cal. HS championships in a wind legal time of 11.34!
Guys- for a HS girl, that is flying! and she's only a junior!!!

Jonathan Cabral was the leading qualifier in the 110m hurdles - 13.70.
Still waiting for Jamison Jordan to run his heat....
I would be willing to bet that Prandini is probably the fastest White female in America with that time. Only a non 100 meter specialist like Jenny Adams would be faster. Her potential is infinite. I just hope that she receives proper coaching at the collegiate level. If Prandini was Canadian she probably could already be competing at the major level in a 4*100 relay pool........

Prandini won the LJ and got 2nd in the 100m. She still has the TJ coming up. And remember, she's a junior.
Jonathan Cabral won the 110m Hurdles.

Jamison Jordan got 4th in the 100m.

I haven't seen the race yet, but it was wind aided and he didn't run as fast as yesterday.
Maybe running the relay earlier in the day hurt him a bit.
His relay team got run down and nipped at the tape. They lost the gold medal by 2/100ths.
Tough day for the blonde blur. But hopefully some good things ahead in college and perhaps some HS invitational meets in the next few weeks.Edited by: jacknyc

He ran a 10.52 in the finals. Not too bad considering he has raced alot in the last several days. Top four in California is nothing to hang your head about. I'm still hoping that Jamison will decide to give up football and concentrate on track. He has a possible future in track. Football is going to be counter productive in my opinion.

Prandini looked very good. She finished 2nd in the state as a junior. That is something to be proud of! I hope she goes to a Pac Ten School in another year when she graduates.Edited by: white lightning

I believe that was the first race Jordan lost all year. He beat the top 3 from today's race last week. Those four guys are so close, you could get four different results in four different races.

Well it turns out that Jenna's 11.34 may be the fastest 100m ever run by a white American woman!!!
There are no official records on this, but according to some this may be it.

I am pretty much certain Sandra Meyers has the unofficial record in the 11.0X range. But then again that maybe counted as a Spanish record as she competed for Spain after her collegiate career. Edited by: white is right

She is like the female version of Kevin Little! What a talented sprinter she was anywhere from the 100 up to the 400 meters. It's a shame that we have such a huge country with well over 160 million white americans and yet a little country like Germany or England puts out more white sprinters than we do. What a shame. Who knows how much talent might be out there. Alot of men and women end up in other sports and just stick to academics. I've always wondered if we ever had a system set up to find whites from the time they are kids in this country. To develop them from the ground up like other nations have. I imagine we would have seen many sub 10's decades ago. What a shame it is that in the US, whites are not looked upon as great athletes when in reality, they are the best athletes in the world.

I am aware of Sandra Myers and her times, but she set all those times competing for Spain.
I think Prandini might be the fastest 'american' female, white sprinter.

Hey, I found another one! .....Joe Fisher of Kansas.
He ran a legal 10.44 at the Great SW Track Meet this weekend. That ranks him 7th in the county! (faster than Jamison Jordan's best).
Here's a video I found on youtube:

Oh - and he's a junior!Edited by: jacknyc

Wow are these kids fast. It seems like it all started back with Matt Bruno. Then you had Shane Crawford and a few others. Now we have Jamison Jordan, Joe Fisher and Aaron Scott. It's starting to get a little more interesting in high school track these days. Also we have to remember that on the average, whites mature a little slower than blacks on the average which makes these times even more astounding. Great find jacknyc.

Awesome finds NYC. Very, very good stuff to be reading. This years class of high school sprinters must be as good a class as we've had in some time. No clear front runner, but just numerous 10.5 and sub 10.5 guys all accross the country. A few are bound to break through, and even if we had a couple 10.1-10.2 white american sprinters it would be exciting and refreshing. As much as I pull for the Lemaitre's and Pickering's of the world(and believe me I do considerably) I could really get behind an American sprinter and possibly even see them run in person without having to go ocean hopping.

Jamison Jordan, aka "blonde blur" just won the California Southern Championship and will be going for the overall state championship with a 10.52 100m. He also placed 3rd in the 200, and his relay team (with 3 white guys) 4x100 came in second to Long Beach Poly. He ran the lead off leg in the relay. He qualified for all three in the state championships. Should be good. He will be the favorite in 100m, but he has a lot of stiff competition. (he's run a 10.45 wind aided, this year, too)

Somebody over at the T&FN message board notes that Rio Mesa has been a hotbed of fast white sprinters lately:
2007 Josh Harrison 10.68
2008 Sean Alfino 10.72
2009 Jamison Jordan 10.67
2010 Jamison Jordan 10.45, Blake Sellig 10.87 (sophomore)

Some credit must be given to their coach, Brian Fitzgerald, not just for his general sprint coaching efforts, but for believing that whites can be great sprinters too, and giving them that opportunity.
Good job!
(and just for the record, he had a black girl come in 3rd in the girls 100m finals at the championships.)
