High School Basketball Prospects

this cat will probably need his own thread soon, but for now …

Iowa got a 2026 commitment yesterday from Ethan Harris who is a 6-9 four star forward from Washington. Good to see Ben McCollum continuing Iowa's winning recruiting strategy. Harris had a Gonzaga offer, but turned it down for Iowa - a little surprising to see, but either school would have been a good choice.

He is the top ranked White recruit for the class of 2026 on 247. Has a top seven of Kentucky, Arkansas, Michigan, Duke, UNC, NC State, and Indiana. I would prefer to see him commit to one of Duke, Indiana, or Michigan.

Quinn Costello, one of the top ranked White players for 2026, committed to Michigan recently. Costello is a 6-10 power forward and is currently the #45 player in the nation per 247. Seems like there will be plenty of White big men and forwards playing under Dusty May...would be awesome to see a White guard or two though too. The team this year will not have too much to watch though with the exception of a few young guys and bench pieces.

Chase Branham, a 6-4 PG from Missouri in the class of 2027, has just committed to Indiana. He is a top 40 player in his class, and if a White guard is ranked that high then you know he must be really good! There have been a lot of Whites committing to Big 10 programs recently. For this season, Indiana is trending up in terms of watchability - they will start at least 2 Whites this year (decent chance of 3) along with several bench players.

Purdue just got a commitment from 3-star PF Rivers Knight...they are 3/3 on Whites in their 2026 class!

Adian Stubbs scored 100 points in a recent game. HE has no offers. He must be white, or he would have dozens of offers.

A 5-10 guard playing obviously some of the worst possible competition in America? Yeah, that isn't going to get someone offers.

Damn Holmeboy, A bit harsh! A 5’11 White Kid from Indiana just broke the Big Ten record for assists last week!

Granted Braden Smith is a stud, but 100 points in 3 quarters is still ridiculous for Stubbs!

Jokes aside I realize the competition is probably crap. Still think he should garner some D2 interest.

Reminds me of Ohio High School Basketball’s All Time Leading scorer in Quinn Kwasniak, from last year’s class.. He stood at 6’4 though. Absolute scoring machine, broke LeBron James scoring record. He was also knocked for playing poor competition(aka White Kids). He is currently at Merrimack.

From his college bio:
  • All-time leading high school scorer in the history of the state of Ohio after dropping 3,342 career points, passing Lebron James (2,646), Luke Kennard (2,977), Zach Rasile (3,013) and Jon Diebler (3,208)

Duke freshman Kon Knueppel's younger brother sophomore Kager, 2027 class received his first D-1 offer from Toledo. Kager is already an inch taller than his older brother at 6-8 and apparently is longer as well. There are 5 Knueppel brothers in all. Kinston 2028, Kash 29, and Kid 30 class.
Kager Knueppel has received an offer from Purdue! Now has three total, Purdue, Toledo, and Depaul. Looks like he's grown another inch as well to 6'9.

No idea why Wisconsin hasn’t offered both the younger Knueppel’s! Their teammate Zavier Zens is a 6’7 sharpshooter committed to Northern Iowa. Again I’m absolutely miffed as to why Badgers haven’t offered him either?!

Was Kon offered late by Wisconsin? If so, maybe that's why he went to Duke? Or maybe he was to Duke anyway after Flagg committed making them the odds on National Champions, which unfortunately didn't happen.
I'm surprised Duke hasn't offered?

Kon was a Badger commit for most of his HS career. Duke came in late and nabbed him..
