Class of '18 prospect C.J. Fredrick commits to Iowa

rsz_-dgwxxa3.jpg

Iowa's three-member '17 scholarship class was all White. Fredrick is their second White '18 commit out of two total commits so far.

Good to see Fredrick committed to Iowa. The Hawkeyes are definitely back in CF member's watchlists. It looks like them, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame will all be watchable for years to come.

Another commit that I like: 2018 PG Ethan Wright committed to Princeton today!! I like the choice; he'll be Princeton's first white commit in the 2018 class, as they already have a black guard committed. Wright will join a 3/4 white 2017 class as well. Princeton will be the team to root for in the Ivy League, along with Penn, Columbia, and Yale (for one more year.)

In other news, Brock Cunningham committed to Texas. Don't like it. A white player under Shaka Smart is always a bad idea.

2018 Las Vegas guard Trey Woodbury, a Top 100 player according to Scout, has committed to Marvin Menzies and UNLV. If you recall, Freethinker has made some great posts about Menzies and his remarkable ability to dredge up black players from all corners of the globe while he was New Mexico State's coach. He also played around 1-2 white players in the 5-7 years since we've been tracking him. I think it's another stupid commit. Who knows, maybe he'll actually play there, as the Rebels were awful last year.

http://247sports.com/Player/Trey-Woodbury-46041384

Not sure I like McClung to Rutgers. Sure, he'll play major minutes from Day 1, but my goodness, that team is the laughingstock of the Big 10, on the football field and the hardwood. America will never get to see his talents in the NCAA Tourney, as the perennially all-black Scarlet Knights are usually a dumpster fire. Unless Steve Pikiell (their new coach) is able to somehow do the impossible and turn them around. With McClung and Quinnipiac transfer Peter Kiss on the roster, I guess he's at least trying to reach out and recruit white players. I would've much rather liked to have seen McClung wait and see if Gonzaga or Marquette offered before going to Rutgers.

I wish I'd gotten a screenshot, but earlier today when I was looking at Scout, all of their "feature" articles (the ones with pictures at the top of the page, there's about 5 of them at a given time) were on white players!! It's probably the first time on any major recruiting site that all of the athletes in the articles were white guys! I thought it was pretty neat to see that, especially on the basketball page!

I'm not sure what's gotten into Scout, but I've loved their coverage of the Euro tournaments the past few days. I've also noticed their rankings seem to be more white-friendly than ESPN or Rivals, for the most part. They've also had a fair amount of articles on white athletes too. It's nice just seeing one of the big sites actually giving pretty fair coverage to our guys.

A couple more tidbits to pass on. Top 100 big Riley Battin is down to six schools: Utah, Ohio State, Davidson, Vandy, Clemson, and Colorado. Any of the schools besides the last two would be fine with me.

Miller Kopp (who's been mentioned here) has a final grouping of: Butler, Michigan, Northwestern, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt. I'm hoping he chooses one of the first three on his list.

Finally, one more recent mid-major commit I really like:

It is 2018 PG Antonio Rizzuto to Albany. He's the first commit in 2018 for the Great Danes, and adds to their all-white (3/3) 2017 class. Albany also picked up a white Juco player, and looks to be replacing Vermont as the whitest team in the America East.

Rylan Jones is a rare breed. A top 100 white PG for the class of 2019 out of Utah. He is 6'1" and has just committed to play at Utah. I do not have any clue about his mission status (Mormons go on two year missions) and if and when he does one but any time a major school nabs a player like Jones it is a good thing. I think his dad played there. ;)

I saw the Jones commit, and I'm pretty happy. Even though Krystowiak hasn't had many super "white-friendly" teams as of late, he still does play white players when he gets them. He's got Jaxon Brenchly and Brendan Carlson coming in 2019 as well (they went on their missions right out of HS). Utah will be a good team to monitor going forward. This year they'll even have some white talent to watch.

A couple of other commits. Top 100 PG AJ Green (who I've posted about in this thread) has committed to Northern Iowa! While Virginia would've been nice too, at Northern Iowa (where he'll play for his dad) he'll start from Day 1 and lead a very white team into the NCAA Tourney for four years.

http://247sports.com/Player/AJ-Green-46036029

2018 6'10 center Brady Heiman committed to Nebraska. He's really skinny yet, but he has the potential to be a player down the road. Heiman's commit comes on the heels of Nebraska nabbing talented 2017 Icelandic guard Thorir Thorbjarnarson last week as well. Not too bad a week for the Cornhuskers. Does Miles finally realize he can't ignore white players if he wants to keep his job? Funny concept that. It can be amazing what happens if you don't ignore a huge chunk of the talent pool.

In a post similar to a college football recruiting post, it's apparently never too early to start recruiting black players, even if they aren't in HS yet! One just committed to DePaul in the class of.... 2022. I'm not making this up. College coaches in both sports continue to push ridiculous boundaries like this, but usually only with black players of course. They barely recruit whitey as it is until his junior/senior year.

He has been mentioned on this site and now 6'8" 2018 prospect Kristian Sjolund has just committed to Georgia Tech. Versatile and athletic, many point to his upside so lets hope he can flourish at GT.

As you've noticed, it's been awhile since there's been a college basketball recruiting update. I've been pretty busy, and it just hasn't been basketball season with college football and the NFL starting. But, there's been a few commits over the last month, and here are a few of the big ones.

Connor Vanover, a huge 7'3 athlete from Arkansas mentioned in this thread, picked Memphis this week. I'm sure he'll love being in the middle trying to rebound shots from Tubby's otherwise all-black team. Good luck to him, regardless.

http://247sports.com/Player/Connor-Vanover-85013

Miller Kopp (mentioned here), a 2018 Top 100 SG/SF, chose Northwestern over Butler and Texas A&M this week as well. Good choice to play for Chris Collins. He joins Ryan Young in a half-white class for the Wildcats.

http://247sports.com/Player/Miller-Kopp-87233

Ignas Bradzdeikis (also mentioned in the thread), a consensus 2018 Top-75 player, just commited to Jon Beilien and Michigan tonight!! This kid is gonna be a stud when it's all said and done. This gives the Wolverines two white players out of four right now in their class, with possibly either Colin Castleton or Justin Ahrens joining them.

Finally, class of 2018 member, Riley Battin, a post player mentioned here, also committed to Utah this week! Overall, some good choices in schools.

No problem, Freethinker!! I'm glad you like the posts! A few more commits, and most of them are good news! There are also a couple of questionable commits.

Easily the biggest commit for us in awhile was the commitment of Top 75 forward Nate Laszewski, one of the best shooters in the country. The 6'10 2018 forward committed to Notre Dame recently!! This gives the Irish 4 Top 100 players in their 2018 class... with three of them being white!! The Fighting Irish will remain one of the Top CF teams to cheer for. Here are the most recent highlights of Laszewski this summer. Even though he's known for his shooting, it's clear Laszewski has more elements in his game as well. I love that he likes to play under the rim and make the hustle plays. He's got some athleticism and nimbleness as well in the lane. I think he could start for Notre Dame right away next year if he continues developing, especially with Colson leaving next year.

In the 2019 Class, Butler has gained a commitment from 6'9 forward John-Michael Mulloy, a local Indiana kid. I haven't heard much about him, but he sounds like he has a lot of upside, and if he puts on weight, he's got a chance to be a Top 100 player. I guess LaVall Jordan gets off to a good start with his first commit as Butler's coach.
John-Michael-Mulloy-LONG.jpg

John-Michael Mulloy

http://247sports.com/Player/John-Michael-Mulloy-46048491

Back to 2018, sharpshooting forward Justin Ahrens recommitted to Ohio State! I'd say this is a good commit, as Holtmann's teams at Butler always had at least 3 white guys who saw the floor a lot. The 6'5 small forward should be competing for playing time right away on a depleted Ohio State roster.

http://247sports.com/player/justin-ahrens-94193

Finally, Estonian center Matthias Tass, who's a member of the 2018 class, just committed to St. Mary's!! I've heard he's a great player, and would likely be a Top 100 prospect if he played stateside. The 6'10, 220 lb center gives the Gaels 2 out of 3 white commits for 2018, and should help immediately next year when the Gaels replace potential All-American center Jock Landale.

Matthias Tass

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...center-matthias-tass-commits-play-saint-marys

Now, here are a couple that I'm not as sure of: the first is obvious and had been reported as likely happening by Freethinker a while ago. Jim Boeheim's son, Buddy, committed to Syracuse to play for his dad. At 6'5, 170 lbs, the 2018 shooting guard is just that, a shooting guard. From his highlights, he can shoot the lights out. I think he could possibly have a role on the Orange his freshman season with how good his shot is. As long as he's able to play defense, he should be a contributor.

http://247sports.com/Player/Buddy-Boeheim-46047633

The last guy is forward Hunter Tyson, who was mentioned in this thread. He committed to Clemson this week. Clemson isn't exactly a bastion of white-friendliness. He had a lot of white-friendly schools like Butler, Michigan, Davidson, etc. after him. I wonder if some of them just stopped recruiting him? At any rate, best of luck to Tyson.

If I'm able to get some free time soon, I have a few recruits I'd like to post on from the 2018 and 2019 classes.

Some news, and a couple of new guys I've seen over the last few months.

2018/2019 big man Taylor Currie, who I believe I mentioned in this thread, has decommitted from Michigan. He still holds a Michigan offer, but wanted to open his recruiting back up. Another team I could see getting involved would be Butler. They need a 2018 big man, and Jeff Meyer, who was Currie's primary recruiter while at Michigan, is now an assistant for the Bulldogs.

2018 big man Colin Castleton, who even scouts describe as a rim protector, is down to Illinois and Michigan as his final two schools. Obviously, Michigan would be far and away the better choice for him.

2019 SF Joey Baker, who's been mentioned here as well, got an offer from Duke!! I figure it's time to show CF a video of one of the best in 2019. The 6'7 5-star wing would be a perfect fit for the Blue Devils. As you'll see, he's athletic, he's coordinated, he's a shot maker, and he's smart. He's a very smooth player with a variety of ways to attack the basket. He's got a TON of offers, from Duke, UNC, UCLA, etc.

The next kid is 2018 combo https://i0.wp.com/endlessmotor.net/...6/06/CQff-jnUwAAnFly.jpg?resize=600,800Austin Boucher. The 6'3 Boucher has some bounce to him! He's quick, he's able to make shots in the lane, and he's got some great range. He's got a good-looking shot as well. Boucher can handle the ball as well, and has great court awareness. He's only got one offer from Ball State that I'm aware of, but if he has a great senior campaign, he should be getting interest from other teams. He's been a scoring machine in high school, and being from Indiana, should at least get looks from schools like Notre Dame, Butler, and some of the other smaller schools in the region with a good senior year.

Some good news: Mac McClung has decommitted from Rutgers!!! Good. Seton Hall (even cuck Kevin Willard likes this guy) and Boston College have already offered him. Let's see him go to a better school the 2nd time around.

Update on sky king Mac McClung. As mentioned above he changed his mind on Rutgers and recently it was announced he has settled on Georgetown. Rutgers plays in the Big Ten but they are bottom dwellers. Georgetown is a high profile team in the Big East so my guess is this is a jump up for him. Historically Georgetown has not had any decent white players, apart from one I can think of off the top of my head, through the years dating back to the early 80's. Perhaps new head coach Georgetown icon Patrick Ewing is looking to broaden their recruiting base? See below.

Bad news for the Badgers and it's fans as Tyler Herro has just de-committed.. Be interesting to see where he ends up.

Well that really sucks. Wisconsin would've been a great team for him to land on. I'm honestly hoping he stays home at Marquette, because otherwise, he's going to be going to non-white friendly teams to say the least. I saw where some are predicting him to go to Kentucky. If Herro wants his career in the trash, that's where he'll go. Why he'd want to play for a school that will likely be under investigation and hates white players is beyond me. Heck, I'd prefer him at Arizona or Villanova (or anywhere else for that matter) before Kentucky!

I'm not sure about McClung to Georgetown. It'll be fun though.... when is the last time the Hoyas have had a white guard that plays and isn't a scrub? Surprisingly, the article mentions he'll be able to get major minutes from Day 1. I actually like the move. It's better than Rutgers, and he's going to be breaking some major stereotypes when he gets on campus.

Good for Valtonen as well! It's always great to get more and more Euro players into college basketball. It makes the game more watchable.

2019 5-stars Joey Baker and Matt Hurt visiting Duke this weekend. I'd love to see them play for the Blue Devils together... a little bit of a throwback to back when the Blue Devils used to get all of the top white talent.

A couple more commits to take notice of:

7-1 Kylor Kelley, a JUCO, decided to commit to Oregon State for next season! It looks like the Beavers will certainly have some white talent the next few years. http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/kylor-kelley

6'1, 174 lb Brock Ravet, an electric guard from Kittitas HS in Washington, committed to Gonzaga a while back as well! The 2019 prospect can simply light you up, and has a good looking and quick shot. After his commitment, he jumped into the Top 100 for Scout. I wonder how many white players like Brock are good, but never do get noticed by programs like Gonzaga? At any rate, I look forward to watching him with the Zags!

Some more commitment news for our guys!! I've got a few more to talk about:

2018 SG Hunter Erickson, a 6-3 guard out of Utah, has committed to BYU! This guy has got some hops and athleticism; I believe I've posted a highlight video of his here in the past. He had an offer from Utah, among other schools.

http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/hunter-erickson

He was mentioned by Shadowlight or myself in the other thread, but 6'11 Serbian big man Filip Petrusev, who decommitted from Hartford earlier this year, ended up getting offers from Virginia, Tennessee, Kansas, etc., but chose to attend Gonzaga!!! Great pickup for the Zags, and a great choice. I know he'll be used from Day 1 at Gonzaga. ESPN with an actual well-written article on the top prospect.

http://www.espn.com/college-sports/...g-man-filip-petrusev-commits-gonzaga-bulldogs

2018 forward Duncan DeMuth, out of Florida, committed to Oklahoma State. Not too bad of a choice; the Cowboys usually have a couple white guys on their team, although they've got a new coach, and are under FBI investigation. So not sure where his head was on this one. Given his offers though, this was probably best for him getting exposure and getting a fair shot at a high major program.

https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2018/duncan-demuth-181020

Some more news:

Tyler Herro is being pursued by Kansas, Kentucky, Butler, Villanova, Arizona and Oregon. Out of the list, I hope he doesn't go to Oregon or Kentucky. I really hope he's not that stupid and goes to Kentucky, unless he plans on not playing much and transferring after Calipari over-recruits him. The other schools like using white players in some form; those two, not as much.

I'll hopefully have some time to talk about a couple more prospects soon, as well as get the thread for the new season up.

PG Foster Loyer was mentioned earlier but I was shocked to find out that he is only 5'-9" AND being recruited as highly as he is. Here's some nice highlights from the future Michigan State player.

Sort of reminds me a bit of Jimmer Fredette but with slightly better handle and better vision passing the ball.
