the following game highlight vid is very misleadingly titled, although the two players named in the title are both DI recruits. what is observable, though, is a very high level, down-to-the-wire high school basketball game between two very good teams, one which is all black and the other is all-White-but-one-guy-off-the-bench. and despite what the “experts” insist, the White team ultimately prevailed. “weird,” huh?

Thanks for sharing. Cupps is a good looking young PG! Also noticed sharpshooter Reed Sheppard was playing alongside of him! Their big man (Riley?) looked good as well.

Donovan Clingan, a 7'1 255 lbs center ranked in the top 50 of 2022 prospects, has committed to be Dan Hurley's only white scholarship player at UConn :watchout:

FWIW, it's Clingan's hometown team. Hope this curious choice works out for him.

I know this is early but, Kentucky offers 4-star freshman guard Reed Sheppard a scholarship. Sheppard is the son of former Kentucky player Jeff Sheppard. Yes, he has his dad's jumping ability.5e2297e31a78a.image.jpg 5e2297e31a78a.image.jpg

Thanks for posting it early, it brings back good memories of his dad who I completely forgot about. Jeff should have been a starter or at the very least an 6th man of the year canidate in the NBA.

You're welcome. I forgot to mention that he is only 6'2" and only weighs 170 lbs. As a freshman, he has a lot of time to get taller, I hope, and stronger.

I hope Skip Bayless didn't jinx Chet Holmgrenby saying this today.

Hopefully Holmgren has Birds (or even “psycho Luka’s” for that matter) alpha attitude or the blacks and his coaches will push him to a perimeter floater.

Awesome to see Sheppard offered early by Kentucky!

Excited to see Holmgren, glad even Skip sees the Superstar potential!

below i’ve linked a video from some aau-type summer competition. Reed clearly is a terrific leader and smooth athlete with a pretty jumper, but he also obviously still us a great deal of room to improve. dat upside!!! LOL

Badgers offer Minnesota's Jack Robison! The first offer for the Class of '24 prospect. 6'6 skinny, likely not done growing. Has a good all around game, can score from every level!

Some more positive press for Sheppard! Also Parker Friedriechsen is a sharp shooter from Oklahoma making noise.

6'4 Colin Chandler of Utah is an athletic SG that pretty much everybody on the West Coast is after!

Here is an article about Reed Sheppart in Sports Illustrated. I read this article in the magazine in my doctors office. It's a really good article.

(si.com/college/2021/03/04/john-calipari-kentucky-recruiting-reed-sheppard)

Published March 4, 2021.

"Only 5 schools have offered scholarships to date: Iowa, Stetson, South Alabama, Iona, and High Point."

I really hope he doesn't pick Kentucky. Reed would be competing with NBA level talent for court time. One and done NBA guys. Reed is apparently very good, but is he NBA level good? He will end like the very good recent caucasian players at Duke- wasting their years on the bench, when they could have been developing their skills by starting( or at least getting a lot of playing time) at other programs.

Why not go to a program where Reed can be one of the top guys starting and scoring? Like how many of these European guys were the top guys on their European teams in their youth.

The article also mentions Kentucky and its history with in state recruiting, which seems to be a code word for the top caucasian local high school players.

A lex Karaban a 6'7" forward commits to UConn. He was an ESPN top 50 player.
Indiana offers 2023 point guard Gabe Cupps.

Ethan Kizer (class of 2023) has been mentioned before, i think, but he’s blowing up.
