Thanks for the update. She has been an amazing sprinter since she became a teenager. What a prodigy. Built to run
and she has model looks to go with it. Hope she can win the title at the national ncaa indoor champs. Even a top
3 finish would be a great acheivment and a stepping stone to bigger & better things in the future.
 
Hannah Cunliffe finsihed in a very close 2nd today in the finals of the 60 meters at the NCAA Indoor Champs. She
ran a time of 7.12 and lost by a hundreth of a second. Sad but still an outstanding result to take 2nd place. Let's see
how close she can get to 11 seconds outdoors.
 
last week Hannah won her NCCA Div 1 West preliminary 100m in 11.13, the fastest of the day to punch her tickets to the NCCA Div 1 Championship finals, she however did not fare so well in her 200m with a very subpar 23.32, although to be noted her right hamstring was heavily taped. She never looked comfortable and was labouring for the full 200m. Sad news for her as she does not advance to the NCCA 1 championships, she also qualified with the Oregon 4x100m relay. Hopefully she is not seriously hurting as she only has 2 weeks to prepare. I have known Hannah and her dad Mike since she was 10 years old.
 
Mike Cunliffe must be a great coach. He seems to be very schematic in his approach, from what I gather. I read that he works with the great Olympic weightlifting coach John Thrush and sent his son Sam to train his basketball skills with a former nba player?
Looking at Hannah Cunliffe and her long back,square ass and not very long legs for her height, I can tell he has really trained her well ,maximized her physical strength and gets the most out her not so favourable physiology.
 
Hannah has been extremely fast all her life even as a 6 year old she was beating 10 y olds. Her natural genetics are top level, she has long legs just has a long upper torso as well. Mike is a very good coach and has a lot of world class contacts which are a benefit to any track athlete. His coaching philosophy has been to train young kids for speed not strength per say, Hannah didn't really get super muscular until she hit college and started weight training. At the end of the day she is blessed with fantastic genetics and is a world class sprinter. If she had not injured her hamstring at Pac 12 Championships she more than likely would have won both 100/200m titles at NCAA div1 championships and would have progressed at US trials ahead of Washington and Stevens to make the teams. "But" shyte happens and she will have to wait another 4 years or achieve Italian citizenship and compete for Italy if it can be done and she is healthy enough to compete......the sky is the limit for this gifted white athlete :)
 
Yes she had an untimely injury. I think she would of got 2nd in the 200m at the USA Olympic trials and made the 4x100m relay team also.
She will be winning medals at the worlds/Olympics in the future,hopefully for Italy.
 
I agree but I also think she would have made the top 3 in the 100m as she had already run sub 11 and was peaking at the right time Here is Hannah's 100/200m times in the Track City Track Classic from 2004 good for a flashback :) This is when she was turning 9 years old

Hannah is getting absolutely slammed on the Lets Run forum over her possible choice to compete for Italy. People will be people but it is mostly the Italians doing the complaining...
The statements that she is a USA reject sprinter that never has a chance of making a USA team is a freaking insult and is ludicrous. Everyones who knows anything about sprinting knows if she had not got injured she would have won the NCAA 100m and top 3 in the 200m as well she would have finished top 3 as USA 100m and a good shot at top 3 in the 200m. Her form and fitness was just starting to show itself in the 200m. I know the old saying goes woulda coulda shoulda, I like to think she will bounce back back from injured hamstring and show even more next year.

On a dark note...she really seems to prefer black men for bf's and most of her friends are blacks, she even tries to talk gansta on her twitter account....what a shame.
 
Man, it's hard to root for her after glancing at her Instagram. She looks like one of those clueless whites you see at a black lives matter rally that is only accepted because they are female and all the black guys want to bang her. Worth noting, I come from the same area(a city near there) as Cunliffe. Her being interested in black guys is not surprising given how diverse that area is. Needless to say I would never even consider letting any child of mine attend Federal Way highschool. It's a complete cesspool. Maybe if she runs for Italy, she will meet a nice white Italian stallion and ditch her ghetto ways. Either way, good luck to her I guess.
 
Hannah started her 2017 indoor season last weekend in Washington State Preview meet. She ran a really fast 7.19 60m and showed no ill affects from her hamstring injury. She says she is training well and is already faster than last year at this time. Hopefully she is right and does well.

On a side note..she needs to stop acting like she is black and realize her black teammates are not her friends....they will burn her faster than she can say her own name if needed. Her instagram and twitter is full of darkieness, wonder where her parents went wrong? Her brother Sam who is a very talented athlete is the same way....
 
I'm so proud of Hannah. I just hope she doesn't forget where she came from. Her family is so beautiful. I would hope that someday she will find the right guy and pass on her genes like her parents did.

Congrats on an incredible acheivement. She is the fastest womens collegiate sprinter indoors ever! Wow!
 
Yes it shows that last season early form before injuries wasn't a career crest. I hope she sets personal bests in the summer season. Also she will be going to London(barring injuries) to represent Italy. Even though Cunliffe isn't an Italian surname she actually looks quite Italian looking when she doesn't die her hair light brown with blonde streaks.
 
update for Hannah at the NCAA West's: she won her opening heat in 11.06 +2.8w ran smooth and relaxed, eased off with 3-4 m to go. Hoping the workouts between the Pac 12's and the West's has brought her conditioning back. She runs the quarterfinals this afternoon followed by the 200m qualifying round a couple of hours later. Fingers crossed :)
 
well some bad news for us Hannah fans, she scratched from both the 100m quarterfinals and the 200m prelims, not sure if sick again or hamstring issues....either way it sucks!!!
 
I know Whitney Rowe as an athlete and as an acquaintance from a few years back, if she has gone to Coach Mike(Cunliffe) then he is doing a good job. Hopefully he can get Hannah back on track and get the hamstring under control. Maybe being home again she will ditch some of the mudshark mentality as well.
