I don't know if other have already posted this.

Now, I have never liked Gruden, felt he was a caste coach supreme. But still he was a white coach. and now before they have hardly had time to look everyone is already picking who the new coach will be . I have heard 3 names and all of them are black.

The beat goes on.

There was likely discrimination against black coaches in the past (I find it hard to believe that there were no black coaches good enough to get a chance until 1989, and only 1 was good enough even in 1995). But that is SO clearly not the case today. That issue is just done. Over with. Time to focus on discrimination against white players now. I think the surge of black coaches provides an opportunity to get our message out however. In the past, if any one would have brought up white discrimination, the PC crowd and media would immediately throw black racism against coaches in your face and talk about how black people don't have any decision making power, so how is there discrimination. Now, with the black racism out of the way (which trumps everything in most Americans' minds) people might feel more comfortable talking about white racism (I think you've started to see that with the Jemele Hill and Whitlock articles).

However, in the short term, it will hurt. Black coaches tend to be less white friendly (which is hard to do) than white coaches. Ironically, Dungy happened to be the most white friendly coach in the league, which is a major reason he was the 2nd most successful (to the white friendly Belichick).

It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. How ironic that Gruden would be replaced by his coordinator who wasn't even a coordinator before the end of this season. They say the NFL is a coppycat league and I can't help but to think that John Harbaugh's success in Baltimore influenced this situation other than the fact that the new black coach is a PC typical caste hire. It is crazy to me, because Harbaugh hasn't really even proven anything yet other than the fact that he has a good defense, likes to run a fat converted black fullback and has been blessed with a very talented rookie QB.

The only bad thing about it is that just like the preferential treatment that exists for black players in the NFL, it is starting to also make its way into the ranks of black coaches. While it looks like the new trend in the league is to shake up coaching staffs alot quicker than usual these days, that doesn't seem to extend to black coaches. Despite that fact that 3 black coaches had losing records Marvin Lewis 4-11-1, Romeo Crennel 4-12, Herm Edwards 2-14 and who's teams were basically jokes, only one of them immediately lost their job and I am literally amazed that Romeo Crennel was let go. Compare that to three white coaches, two of which who had winning records that were let go and who two have also brought their cities Superbowl championships.

Now the chiefs are hemming and hawing around about the future of Herman Edwards, but it is pretty clear to me that if the trend in the league was not about shaking things up Edwards would definitely have a job. However now it might make the Chiefs look very stupid in the eyes of fans to hang onto him with all the surprise firings for teams that only slightly underperformed. Another black coach Lovie Smith has brought his team from the Superbowl to barely being competitive in a weak NFC Central in a matter of two years, yet he is firmly entrenched at least for a another season. Smith the defensive guru, who has seen his once dominating defense that brought him to the superbowl turn into a very exploitable unit especially in the secondary, and who in his entire tenure has never made the offense be accountable for it's part of the equation. Hopefully, if Gruden gets another chance to coach somewhere else (and with the totally inconsistent way coaches are hired and fired, with won-loss records apparently almost meaningless, this is hardly a sure thing), he'll be a bit more white-friendly.

It's astonishing the way Gruden's black players threw him under the bus. Completely unproductive WR Michael Clayton "called him out," as so many blacks love to do, and publicly condemned him, even after he was fired. Think about a white player of Clayton's journeyman status publicly criticizing any coach, let alone a black one, after he'd been fired.

As has been noted here, it is ridicuous that Gruden and Shanahan have been fired, while Marvin Lewis and Herman Edwards coach on. Raheem Morris is the quintessential Affirmative Action hire; defensive coordinator for less than a month? What a joke! Just imagine how many more qualified candidates he leap frogged in the NFL's lust for more "diversity" in the head coaching ranks.

The NFL may be forced to slow down its black makeover at the QB position, due to such poor performances on the part of most black QBs, which even the racist Caste coaches can't deny. However, the black makeover among head coaches appears to be gaining a lot of momentum. Now, with Pittsburgh's success in the playoffs, the praise for black coaches from the jock sniffers and drunk white fans will grow even louder. We all should be rooting against the Steelers getting to the Super Bowl.

I actually think the media will lose their steam in asking why "minorities"(blacks as the rainbow coalition ends with that color)aren't being hired for head coaching jobs. Two recent semi-qualified candidates hired as a head coach will probably end the wild liberal conspiracy theories. On to college football and then the NHL.....

Sometimes I like to daydream and think about an NFL that is about three quarters to four-fifths white, and the 1/4 or 1/5 that isn't white behaves in a civilized manner.

Basically, I sometimes wish the NFL were trapped in 1965.

I bet the teams from those times wouldn't even fare too badly against today's teams. They were less pampered anyway.

What would Jim Taylor do in today's NFL?

Go undrafted, that's what.

Imagine if Gruden were super bowl champion Black coach replaced by a nobody 32 year old White guy. There would have been an uproar alleging racism like never before. This looks like a terrible move by the Bucs. I expect a trend of hip-hop coaching hires due to the apparent success of Mike Tomlin. We'll see how Tomlin does when he loses his coordinators.

I can't wait until Tomlin is exposed for the horrible coach he is. All of the players doing good on the Steelers right now, with the exception of Woodley, are still from Cowher's old teams. Combine that with Tomlins personal moves, and the Steelers should start to decline around 2010.
