For those of you not familiar with him, Chase Daniel is the starting QB at Missouri. He is a tough white kid from Southlake and played at famous Southlake Carroll High.

Daniel wanted to play at the University of Texas but Texas opted to offer a scholarship to black Louisiana QB Ryan Perrilloux. On signing day, Perrilloux left UT holding the bag and signed with LSU. Texas offered Daniel, but having long ago committed to Missouri, he stuck to his guns and went to Columbia.

Here's the link to an article about Chase, who talks about meeting up with Perrilloux and putting the punk in his place:

From the piece:

Daniel and buddy Colt McCoy attended a summer camp in Austin, but UT offensive coordinator Greg Davis told Daniel the Longhorns were more interested in Louisiana hotshot Ryan Perrilloux. Daniel decided to commit to Missouri, the first school that offered him.

Later that summer, while attending the Elite 11 QB camp in California, Daniel met Perrilloux. They didn't exactly hit it off.

"I was so tired of hearing him run his mouth," Daniel says. "He was like, 'I'm the best at everything,' so I challenged him."

"Let's run a 40-[yard dash]," Daniel said to Perrilloux in front of all the other campers. "Back up your talk."

They raced and Daniel said he beat Perrilloux by two yards. The Louisiana QB said he slipped and asked for a rematch after he put his cleats on.

"Next time I beat him by a yard," Daniel said with a smile.

I love this kid.

Thats a great story. He had a good year last year, and along with his amazing TE Chase Coffman i look for him to have a great year.

Very nice, im suprised ESPN actually posted it since they are the biggest proponent of the caste syste. He is definatley going to be a player to watch develop. I like Coffman alot too.

This upcoming season, Mr. Daniels should be frightening. Missouri runs a ridiculously open offense, and Chase has a very quick release and is as mobile as hell.

I can tell you that Chase will have one of the best offenses in the nation and will get Heisman attention. He is the best RB on that team. Tony Temple is decent but fumbles WAY too much. I've watched Tony fumble in HS all of the time. Martin Rucker (black) and Chase Coffman (white) are the best 1-2 TE punch in the nation. They'll both be playing on Sunday. The Tigers need to find a way to get both (especially Coffman for enzone jump balls) TE's in at the same time. Will Franklin (black) is a good WR to haul in those passes. If it all clicks and the defense, the Tigers could be a top 10 team. But the reason why folks around here love the guy is that he honored his commitment as Bronk said. Yeah Brad Smith was a good QB, but Chase will be the one to lead us to the next level!

Pretty impressive performance tonight. Between Chase, Tebow and Jake Locker I'd say the most athletic QB's in the nation are all Caucasian. I'm gonna be very interested in seeing how the NFL scouts try to downplay these three as the years go on.
