My '68 Firebird was green like the one in this pic. The guy who owned it before me must have beat the hell out of it as I had to have a rebuilt engine put in it fairly soon after I bought it, among other continuing mechanical issues. That cost a lot of money back then as I was starting college and working part-time at the then minimum wage of $2.20 or whatever it was circa 1977 (Boston's classic first album came out in '76). Didn't matter, I loved that car anyhow. We should have a thread about our first cars and other cars we owned that we loved. I had a silver 1998 Firebird that was just as sweet as the '68, but the '68 was pure muscle car.

Very nice. I had a 72 Monte Carlo similar as this one back in the seventies. You know, the thing I enjoyed most was the stereo system I installed.

The Monte Carlos were nice cars for sure. I remember driving with one of my nephews about 15 or 20 years ago and he pointed out a car and said "There's a Monte Carlo." I didn't believe him as it had shrunk considerably in size and power, nothing like I associated it with in my mind from days of yore, though I guess the '72 wasn't a pure muscle car.

I bought a 1984 Toronado in 1990, a darker blue than this one and it lasted for seven years. Kind of a poor man's Cadillac, it was always one of my favorite cars. In fact the only two of the many cars and SUVs I've owned that ever occasionally appear in my dreams are the Toronado and the '68 Firebird.

I always liked The Who while growing up as an unaware suburban teenager. This song is my favorite and it's held up well. Of course now it's used as a staple in advertising by globalist corporations rather than the free-spirited anthem it was meant to be when it came out in 1971.

The picture in the background was the cover for their album Who's Next, which was a classic, filled with great rock music.

When you think of the British invasion of the sixties, the Beatles and The Rolling Stones are considered one and two. The Who makes the top three in my humble opinion. Roger Daltrey makes a better front man than Mick Jagger anyway. Concept albums "Tommy" and "Quadrophenia" will be around for centuries.

I was never much of a fan of The Beatles. The Rolling Stones did a number of great songs, especially during their Exile on Main Street era, but I'll take The Who any day. Daltrey was/is a great singer and showman and The Who had a variety of great songs over a long period of time.

Pete Townsend was the driving force of the group. Then there was the original drummer Keith Moon, who lived life to extremes of partying excess and paid the price. Here's a nice little ditty from Townsend:
