According to the above article, Gennady's next opponent will be Irish Andy Lee. I'm quite familiar with Andy Lee and I've seen him fight numerous times before. Andy Lee is a very talented fighter, good speed, good power, but he's had chin issues in the past and he will be in over his head in this fight. I would be surprised if the fight goes past 6 rounds, in fact, if I had to bet I'd say Gennady stops Andy within 3 or 4 rounds. Andy is an offense-first, there to be hit fighter and that won't go well with GGG.

Personally, I was hoping to see Gennady VS James Kirkland, but according to the article, Kirkland's camp turned down the opportunity to fight GGG. I believe Kirkland is also going to be fighting on the undercard of Golovkin/Lee, against Polish Damian Jonak.

Why wasn't this fight shown in the States? Some promotional glitch or technicality? I know he comes from an off-brand country, but damn.

According to HBO and Tom Loeffler, as I recall they stated "logistical reasons" as being the reason why the fight wasn't broadcasted on HBO. Presumably it was too difficult or costly to get a broadcasting crew out to South France to show the fight.

Whether HBO's explanation is true, or if perhaps there were other reasons the fight was not broadcasted is debatable.

HBO while letting German or British camera crews run the cameras have never let another broadcast team call a bout on their network. Frankly with the lame South African team they had a point. I suspect they feared poor camera work combined with obvious studio analysis would harken back to the 70's when championship fights in Europe or South Africa were shown on tape delay and the results were mentioned in news reports on the radio.

And only in crooked Las Vegas with his personal referee and mobsters dressed up in judge suits, and special made to order rings, etc etc. But even with all that, GGG would knock the bum out!

Andy won't be able to fight Gennady but if he trains on holding, stalling, tying, jabbing, foot stepping, stumbling, tripping, pushing, switching, running, elbowing, butting, and pawing, he could do it the American way and maybe go the distance. Hopkins and now Ward have made careers out of using those defensive techniques and Ward is even thought of as "the second best pound for pound in the world".

If you click on the "all odds" button at the right, that website gives you different odds from the different gangster bookies. I'm sure no expert on reading those things, but it looks like a lot of them are giving 1 - 100 odds if you want to bet on GGG, but only like 16, or even 11, to one if you want to bet on Rubio. Am I reading it right? What an absurdly usurious spread! If I were to bet on a fight I'll bet with another guy so if I get 1 to 100 he gets 100 to 1, not that I'd do that with this fight or any fight, unless it was something I knew in advance for sure that the fight was going to be fixed, like Malik Scott vs Wilder or Liston vs, Clay or Haye vs. Harrison, or that funny little fat guy who they put in the ring with some giant negro and he jumped on the ground before a punch got within 4 feet of him. Too little return for the risk in a legit fight. You never know.

Golovkin's management has promised he will have "monster PPV" fights in 2015. So this is apparently his last fight beforethe "big fights". Golovkin's trainer has even talked about a potential fight with Mayweather. I'd be surprised if Mayweather took that fight because Golovkin has a very real chance to beat and even KO Mayweather. If not Mayweather I think guys like Cotto, Canelo, and Chavez Jr are on the horizon. I think Golovkin knocks them all out.

As for Rubio, wow this guys been around boxing a while now. He's tough, good hitter, and very experienced. I remember when he TKO'd David Lemieux in Montreal. Thats back when Lemieux was chasing a title shot.

Rubio's tough so I think he'll go some rounds. This is a good fight for GGG as if he wins he'll pick up the WBC title to add to the WBA and IBO he already has. That would give GGG 3 out of 5 major titles at middleweight.

Prediction: Golovkin TKO 8

GGG just whacked out tough fringe contender Rubio with pure power. Rubio was hit so hard he was actually concussed without being out and woke up and protested a few seconds after the ten count was administered. There isn't a 160 pound fighter that can take that kind of power. I figured Rubio could give him some rounds before fatigue kicked in. But the power of GGG is too much for even this scenario against this class of fighter.

Gennady having yes a good perfomance in yes this fight. He was able to being hitting hard and bring end of this fight with good punch with following up not bad in the English learning to afterfight interview. Thank you all fans of the boxing with bringing good spirit to championship match.

Gennady's just sensational... before the fight I predicted an 8th round TKO but he outdid that and wins by 2nd round TKO.

Amazing stuff from Gennady. Rubio is not some random bum off the street. Rubio can fight and hes been around boxing a long time. To be honest Im surprised Gennady beat him so easily.

GGG really is something special... like Wlad and Calzaghe Id say hes a special talent.
