Being that this is just on the horizon, I have to say I'm stoked for this match up. While I'm pulling for Forrest as expected of an avowed racist I feel this fight is in Jackson's favor for his love of throwing haymakers and Griffin's love of eating punches, though I feel Griffin is no slouch when it comes to striking or wrestling so it really could go either way. If Griffin does win I feel that would be the best win for a white fighter in any sport in a long time, established PRIDE fighter and current UFC champion dismantled by UFC reality show guy. Awesome. I'm pulling for Forrest as well and I think Forrest submits him in the 2nd round. He was pretty good on TUF1, but I am suprised Forrest has become this good. I am also suprised about how well Florian,Leben and Evans have turned out.

I am also predicting a Forrest victory. This time next year, I can see a scenario where our people have all the belts back:

Heavyweight - Frank Mir
Light Heavy - Forrest Griffin
Middleweight - Henderson or Bisping (if Silva moves up)
Welterweight - GSP
Lightweight - Florian (if Penn moves up)

The light heavyweight division in the UFC is stacked. If they have more than two fights for the championship by this time next year, there is no telling who will be champion, even if Forrest wins this fight. Liddell, Wanderlei, Jackson, Griffin, Thiago Silva, and LYOTO MACHIDA are all in the mix. My pick is Machida, if they actually ever let him fight for the belt.

I don't think Mir will beat Nog. I think the guy they all need to worry about at heavyweight is Brock Lesnar.

Is Silva moves up to light heavy for good, Franklin is champion at middleweight again. However, the latest is that Silva will fight Irvin at light heavy and then defend his middleweight title against Okami some time in October, barring injury.

There is even talk about GSP moving to middleweight now, as well, so who knows who will be champ at welterweight. Jon Fitch? Thiago Alves?

Sherk should be champ again at light weight should Penn move up, imo.

I think Mir could beat Nog. Not that he would, but I feel he is well rounded enough, that if he came in in good shape (sometimes a big if with Frank) he has the tools to get the job done.

I'm pulling for Forrest of course, I'm nervous about the fight, but I think he will get it done.

Forrest can be a smarter fighter than Jackson. We've seen Forrest adjust his game plan (as he did wonderfully with Shogun). If I was him, I'd look to submit Rampage. Quinton's wrestling & sub defense is solid, but I'd give Forrest the edge. Plus, FG is a Georgia Dawg like me!

I thought Forrest did an excellent job and for the most part dominated the standup with his leg kicks. However the guys who scored the fight on sherdog.com scored it for Rampage. I gave every round to Forrest ecept the first and forth, and I scored round 3 10-8 for Forrest. These guys don't know how to judge a fight.

Nevada is right about the way to go about beating Jackson. Both Silva and Shogun got him the the thai clinch and began giving him knee strikes to the head and eventully koed Jackson. Jackson is pretty easy to get in the clinch too because he leads with his head.

Hey does anyone know if ESPN showed to highlights. I watched the fight but my friend didn't get to see it. He told me that he was watching ESPNnews and you know right before they go to a commerical break they tell you whats coming up next. Well they said the results of the Rampage fight were coming up after the break and then didn't show it at all. I think when they found out Rampage lost they decided not to bother announceing the results on air.

Congratulations to griffen for his victory over the highley respected jackson. This win proves to me that in mma the european descended athlete is a formidable opponent for anyone. The fight as always when its white v black had a racial undercurrent and i dont even think this has anything to do with hate just a manifestation of the natural desire for success of your own genotype . As bernard hopkins braverly said when theres a fight between black and white the fight always has a element of racial pride about it even if the fighters dont want to openly acknowledge it. I suspect that griffen before the fight had extra motivation for the fight just as much as bernard hopkins had before losing to calzaghe. I admire jacksons respectfull comments about griffen after the fight but on a personal level find quinton to be incredibly annoying with his typical gheeto bravardo he displays when talking. Maybe its just me but i prefer people to be refined in there behavoir socially. I hope that forest distinguishs himself as a worthy champion and conducts himself properly outside of the cage and hammers one more nail in the coffin of the media lie of caucasian athletes belonging to a inferior class of people in the sporting world.

Forest was much stronger and seemed to be in better condition than Jackson. I think he should have poured it on more in the last couple of rounds - Jackson was ripe for the picking. Jackson is just another way over-rated and over-hyped black fighter. He had nothing against a rather mediocre Forrest. It looked like Forrest could have tossed Jackson to the ground if he wanted to and/or did what he wanted while he had Jackson in his guard. I wonder if ESPN will even mention this fight.

The one elemant of griffens game that needs to be improved is power. Developing ko power is said by some to be impossible if you aernt born with it. That isnt the case if forest praticed his teqnique and trained according to the principles of sport science he could develop a punch like bob fosters within 1 year of intense training and then he could kill his way througth his chamionship reign. Sorry got a little carryed away the doctor said i will be okay in time lots of long walks and medication should do the trick.

Rampage is not overrated. Rent some old Pride videos. He's beaten Chuck Liddel badly on two separate occasions. Is Chuck overrated?

Forrest has beaten Shogun and now Rampage. There is no way anyone should consider Forrest Griffin a mediocre fighter.
