It is with deep sorrow that I announce that our fellow and friend “Werewolf” has passed away. I post this here as he was a regular poster on this forum for many years until he started his own forum “Hotel Dixie Forum”. In these recent years he mostly used the persona “Boris Badenov” on Hotel Dixie for a lark.

I knew Wolf well in his private life beyond the internet. What he wrote about of his life on the forum I can verify as true. He loved his race and loved America. He had a great sense of humor and loved America’s immense God-created beauty. He was consistent and always maintained that Don Wassall is a loyal and stalwart defender of our like and kind.

Werewolf lived much of his life outdoors exploring and simply experiencing God’s creation. He knew and expressed, as any spiritual soul does, that this life is but a sojourn of God’s commission. He had no fear of leaving; he said sadness is for the living. Indeed he was correct.

Farewell. See you Wolf in the life after this life; may you be welcomed by the Heavenly Father.

This piece I present in tribute to my dear friend:

I will continue his forum, and also use it as a blog for the visitors that read it.

My most sincere condolences. I always enjoyed WW's posts and banter. We lost a good one. Here's to him rejoicing with God in heaven.

Damn! RIP to werewolf! His posts were always entertaining and I learned a lot from them.

I would wonder about Werewolf from time to time. He was a bit of a rascal and I didn't always agree with his approach to things but he was a memorable character.

@Ambrose Thank you for sharing these touching words about your friend. Peace be with you and with the other friends and family of Werewolf.

I've internalized an idea that as we age past our youth, the worst thing for a woman to be is unkind, and the worst thing for a man to be is boring. Plenty to qualify within that statement, but that said, I admire that the Werewolf posts here were never boring. I am glad to hear that he found much fulfillment offline, too.

Rest in peace

I am sorry to hear of Werewolf's passing. I enjoyed his contributions. @Ambrose I am sorry for the loss of your friend. Please accept my condolences.

God be with his family, and may they find peace knowing the Werewolf is in paradise with the Lord.

@Ambrose thank you for sharing this news and sorry for the loss of your friend. I feel a sadness as well, as I consider all of you great posters here "friends" and brothers even though we've not met IRL. Its comforting to know WW was a man of faith, as he's called home....

As a poster, he was a knowledgeable and hilarious writer. A character, that I'm sure if I met in person, would be someone you never forget. Through our banter, I came to know that we both traversed some of NYC's worst areas, probably just during different decades. I think in that way we both learned similar life lessons, good and bad, and came to similar understandings about race. Anyway, I will take with me those online chats and remember our dear Werewolf fondly.

RIP brother.

He was an opinionated poster who could be abrasive but there was no denying his historical knowledge of boxing and NYC in in the 60's and 70's through the 80's.

The boxing forum will miss his knowledgeable posting on the history of the sport.

Sad to hear the news...
