Tortu ran a 10.10 for 4th place today in the Oslo Diamond League today. In the same race Zhenye Xie of China ran a 10.01 for second place.

Very nice time in a stacked field of sprinters in front of a huge crowd. Conditions were fair. I'm happy with his season so far minus his 200 a week ago. I think he needs to improve his
speed endurance and he will as the season moves forward!

Very interesting comment from Tortu about how one looks to those who we feel some connection with as an example, a mentor even. In this case it's about seeing a man of similar skin colour and saying "he did it - maybe I can", especially in a scenario where media portrays your goal as an unlikely wish.

Filippo Tortu will be racing in Eugene, Oregon this sunday June 30th. The field is one of the best 100 meter lineups of the track season. He will have to go sub 10 to have a chance to win. Hoping he can shock the world watching on tv and go sub 10 in the U.S.A. That would be epic. The kid gets better each time out. It's only a matter of time until he will have a chance to win a medal at future championships. Just an FYI . . . the meet is being held at Stanford, not Eugene. So the times probably won't be as fast as expected.

I didn't think they had finished the reno at Hayward. I think Tortu will go 10.10, Schippers will do well for 175m then tighten up, Prandini mid 22.4's Lalova 22.3's. I also find it interesting that SFP has already run 10.73, must be dieting on those special yams...

I have a really good feeling about this season for Filippo Tortu. He is health and has had an amazing training camp so far. I expect some new personal bests over 100 & 200 meters!

On June 15th Filippo Tortu will turn 22 years of age. He is one of the most exciting young sprinters on earth. Who know how fast this kid can run? I just hope he stays focused, hungry and works harder than ever to go above and beyond what Lemaitre ever did. This kid is a phenom and I'm anxious to see what he can do this summer and next year at the olympics. Expect fireworks!

Filippo Tortu now has his own commercial in Italy. He is becoming a bigger star and hopefully he will shine at the Olympics this summer. I see no reason why he can't run in the sub 9.90 range in the near future!

MM, thats what I am worried about as well. If he gets busted for PED's the other 3 members of the relay team get stripped of gold as well. My other thought is if the track was so fast why didnt the Japanese men go sub 10 and sub 20 in the 100m and 200m and fare far better at the Olympics?

Filippo Tortu finished a long season today with a new p.b. of 20.11 in the 200 meters. So happy he finally broke his personal best from way back in 2017. He is more
of a natural 100 meter sprinter but running more 200 meters races can only help him to finish out the 100 meters races stronger. It's a win/win for both distances and
I hope he races more next season. He only races over 200 meters twice in 2021. Let's continue this in 2022 and break both of his personal bests and hopefully be a factor
at the World Championships of Track & Field!

Terrific. Glad I watched. I'm not technically instructed as you all when it comes to sprinting. But that run looked textbook.
