I saw this earlier. Interesting how they route the money to the family or whoever for the mercenary services of the player. If this is taken to its conclusion, it could virtually shut down NCAA basketball since a high percentage of top affletic prospects need cash to float their ghetto-dwelling families and "crews" until they can land a big buck$ contract with the NBA. I noticed that Kentucky isn't named in this yet. They must be a little more careful in their transfers, they are the epitome of the one-and-done mercenary factory.

I also noticed that of the three assistant coaches 2 are Blacks and one is a Mulatto. If Blacks ran various rich countries within a few years we would have second world countries at best, if not 3rd and 4th world cesspools like in various parts of the world.

Even the fake populist has been grabbing every buck he can get now that he is legally allowed to as a private citizen. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/basketball/nba/ncaa-coaches-charged-fraud-corruption-1.4307449

PS, OMG one assistant coach threw away his career for an alleged 13K, that's nothing in today's money and one of the coaches is an ex NBA player Chuck Person who made multi-millions in the NBA. I'm starting to think these guys aren't very bright to throw away their freedom for essentially slush fund spending money amounts....http://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...asketball-coaches-10-charged-fraud-corruption

Hell yes! Absolute caste whore Rick Pitino just got canned!
FINALLY!!!!!! Pitino must have thought he was the pope at Louisville, he wasn't canned for a recruiting pay for a play scandal, prostitution scandal but I guess a more complicated mafia type multi-layered scandal was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I'd love to see them nail that cheat Calipari next. There's no way he/the UK boosters aren't greasing the palms of the afroletes & their families.

My hope is that the affletes and their families are treated as criminals too and not victims. They played the game too.
I don't think taking a gift from a shoe company or booster is a crime per say but if the family member doesn't declare the money as a gift or payment, tax penalties and potential jail time will follow.

In the case(s) above, it's very unethical & shifty.

While I would love to see the whole thing come crashing down I have learned to expect disappointment when it comes to too big to fail ivory towerAmericans or institutions (UNC hoops, Hillary Clinton) being treated like the rest of us

Good! Most of those “hall of fame” coaches were (& are) adherents of/to the caste system.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-b...iller-if-he-loses-job-in-fbi-wiretap-scandal/Sean Miller (head coach at Arizona) is toast and could be doing time in the federal penal system. He was caught on tape arranging for a 100K payment to a top recruit. I know we have talked about paying athletes before but this corrupt shamateur system is broken.

Maybe something similar to the amateur system that track and field adopted in the early 80's could be adopted for athletes in the big 4 sports. This corruption has been around for years, only the payment figures have increased due to inflation and more money floating around due to larger revenue from network television. Even back in the days of true amateurs the Mafia corrupted players to shave points so you can't just blame Nike or the television networks.

I have seen commentators using this occasion as a back door way to slip into the conversation the need to PAY the players. Again as indicated above this sort of back room pay stuff is apparently not new but I actually did not know the extent of it which is naïve I guess.

In a nut shell I have always been fiercely AGAINST PAYING COLLEGE ATHLETES. You can picture this in full color. A black 6th grader--make NO MISTAKE this issue is about paying black players---is targeted as one of the CHOSEN ones and will be paid accordingly.
That sort of set up will stifle the game even further and even though college is under the lamp right now the NBA has their sticky fingers all over this mess. First off I do not like the slimy NBA commissioner. My first instinct was to dislike this grease ball from the get go and my first impression is unchanged. He is a two faced TWIT.

I have said it countless times but one of the best ways to alleviate this underhanded garbage is to go back to the old days where High School players are allowed to enter the NBA Draft if they so choose and that College players must remain in school until after their Junior season or after they turn 21. Just like they do in college baseball.

The set up now with this one and done garbage has ruined the college game. And now it has infected white players as too many have left school too early for a shot at the NBA where most every white player from this past draft are playing in obscurity except for one. But the NBA dictates the rules and colleges for some unknown reason haven't pushed back.

So to me the big elephant in the room is the NBA and all the attendant sleaze balls along with ******* black players who have been worshipped since they were in the 3rd grade. They are just as culpable as the greedy colleges. A lot of these kids walk around with a sense of entitlement and figure personal responsibility doesn't apply to them. This whole charade needs to end and they need to get back to basics like if you are getting a FREE ride to college you can't apply for the NBA Draft until after your Junior season. What ever happened to common sense?

Too many in the media like caste prick Jay Bilas want to ensure that the young black players are worshipped and treated like kings for the rest of eternity. That the mere public should bow down in awe as year after year another group of young black players are showered with gifts from the heavens. Like the old days when the pagans offered up everything for the gods.

This is why I say pay the players or at least let them earn money, this crap of behind the scenes payments has been going on since at least the Wooden days(his teams near the end were half White)http://articles.latimes.com/2010/jun/08/sports/la-sp-0609-wooden-gilbert-20100609

Might as well let the affletes turn pro out of HS if the idiots deem themselves NBA ready. Though in reality very few are ready to make the jump so let them fail. After all dey don't play school anyways.

Let them go pro - it's that easy. Let the NBA and NFL set up their own minor league systems instead of relying on college sports to feed their leagues. That would pave the way for real student athletes to play college football and basketball rather than the affletes who burn scholarship money. The whole premise of college players getting paid when they get free rides is beyond ludicrous.

The NCAA should have reserve system similar to European soccer clubs. The NCAA schools could be for players that are signed out of high school that can't make the big clubs. The teams pay for tuition and room and board and basic living expenses. After the 4 year apprenticeship if a player can't make a big club he is cut and keeps whatever is left over in his signing bonus.

The cesspool payments and enticements would largely end.

Isn't this similar to the way Major League Baseball and the farm system works?

The NCAA can't equate to the European set ups because the hyper gigantic revenue flow is channeled through college basketball.

I agree with Leo I am strongly against paying players. To me it is sort of like a john getting PAID by the prostitute instead of the other way around. There probably is some funny back room business going on in college basketball but through the years schools have also been penalized when they get caught so it seems.

This absurdity surrounding the one and done has been a fraud set up from the start. There already is a "minor league" NBA league in place and it is called the NBA D-League. And I think there are over 25 teams. So for High School players who don't want to go to school they can apply for the draft and hope for the best. Even if they are not drafted they might latch onto a D -League team and who knows from there. Preventing kids from entering the draft out of High School is absurd. Forcing players to attend college for three full years weeds out many but not all of the guys who have no intention of pursuing an education in the first place.

Baseball is set up somewhat differently. Players out of HS have a choice to enter the draft or attend college for the mandatory three years before being eligible for the draft. I think the NBA should go back to that system as I mentioned above. Now the Minor League system in baseball is a HUGE revenue source. College baseball has some revenue flow but nowhere near college basketball or football. So in the case of baseball their minor league system can financially support the players etc.. If you dice up college basketball with club league set ups the entire revenue system would collapse.

All of this crying and whining about "black players" being taken advantage of is BS as far as I am concerned. And more so today than ever when you consider the cost of attending colleges today. As opposed to the countless white students and their families who have to struggle like hell to balance everything out I do NOT have one ounce of sympathy for the many spoiled brat ******* black athletes who think they should be paid for walking down the street. Remember these black players have been WORSHIPPED for years even before they set foot on a college campus. The last thing I want to see is for them to grab even more of a piece of the pie. They live a life most of us can only dream of having. Let them earn their pay in the big leagues just like every other person has to do.

I was figuring the big networks and the leagues want the colleges to do the work for the two leagues as unofficial minor leagues as they have been doing for 70 years+. There is no way any network would pay a billion dollars for the equivalent of D III football or basketball if a true minor league system was set up for either league.

The two leagues that have a true minor league system are just lucky that they were setup years before this NCAA gorilla became a billion dollar entity. Or the shamateur problem would follow these leagues too.
