A very unfair and disgusting article about Hansbrough and how his game is considered "boring."

Fans Hate Hasnbrough

Small section of article:

Style of play is a good starting point, but it doesn't come anywhere close to explaining why so many college basketball fans are not fans of Tyler Hansbrough. I think, as someone who occasionally veers into irrational Hansbrough hatred, I know why. Maybe I can help.

"First of all, style of play. It's worth mentioning. Watching Hansbrough is not fun or entertaining or aesthetically enjoyable. It's just ugly. Hansbrough's game is predicated on physical play, on out-muscling the competition, getting under the hoop and making baskets. When you watch, say, Blake Griffin, you likely often find yourself saying "ooh, nice," or "wow," or "oh my God look out below." When was the last time you said those things about Hansbrough? One of the key components of basketball respect -- seeing a player's skills on display -- are completely out of Hansbrough's equation. He is to hoops what robots are to manufacturing: efficient, ruthlessly effective and utterly depressing to watch."

"But that really doesn't get to the heart of the hate. The real reason why people loathe Tyler Hansbrough is much simpler, much less psychological. People hate Tyler Hansbrough because the media loves him."Edited by: j41181

if i had my choice to build a basketball team, and i could pick anyone in college basketball today, Tyler Hansbrough would be my first pick. period.

Griffin got a concussion from a weak backhand and he missed how many games? Hansbrough exhales harder than that! he would walk through the OK star like high school football players run through those paper banners before games. i don't care what anyone in the media or any stupid fan says, Hansbrough is the most difficult player to stop in college basketball.

Hansbrough would rip Blake Griffin's heart out and eat it raw.

Like I said Hansbrough, IMO, should be taken somewhere between pick 3 and 8 depending on how well he works out at the NBA Orlando Combine b/c he is a little undersized. For the "NBA" (not college) the only guys I truly like better at this point are Rubio and Griffin. I compare Tyler's inside game to Elton Brand, but he will probably even test out slightly better athletically than Brand.

For a similar white hatred situation: Just think about all the negative things said about Kevin Love's athleticism. Then Love goes out and tests identical athletically at the Orlando Combine to Michael Beasley (meaning he tested well) and is fast becoming the best PF in that draft already. Many stupid draft sites now have Tyler going as basically the last pick in the 1st round. Only in America.

Remember when he funked all over the 7 ft 7in affaleete a season or two ago. That was as exciting of a thing that can happen in a game. The chump calling the game said he got away with a travel.

Tyler Hansbrough dunks on 7'7 Kenny George

This is the gratitude Tyler Hansbrough gets for putting together one of the most accomplished careers in college basketball history. Shame on them all!!!!

Exactly. Double standard again. Playing the way Hansbrough does and not fouling out every game, there's an art to that.

And I'm sure players hate going up against him.Edited by: The Hock

Draft Analysts hate him too. Draftexpress.com has Tyler going 29th overall, NBAdraft.net has him at 28th. Anti-white lunacy, it doesn't matter what a white player does.

I noticed this too. His draft stock has slipped badly from last season. He would have been a lottery pick last year. I suspect that because his parents are well off and he isn't hungry for cash he stayed for an extra year. But NBA wise that was bad choice. You have to strike while the iron is hot so to speak. Blake Griffin will go out this year for that reason alone.

Pscho T was projected to go in the late twenties last year too.

mainly it's his being undersized to play power forward in the pros.

the "anointed one" Blake Griffin didn't score a single point with Tyler Hansbrough guarding him. not a single point.

unfortunately for Hansbrough, his fellow UNC players shut their best player down by not giving him the ball. and he saw very limited minutes in the first half due to some VERY questionable foul calls that sent him to the bench.

You said it! I think there's too much hype on Griffin at this point. Psycho T defended him brilliant despite getting unfair calls from the refs.

The Griffin/Hansbrough matchup was kind of a dud. Tyler had about half the night off, and why not. Now he's more rested for the two game push to the championship.

on the Yahoo homepage today was the following:"Hoops star's hilarious dunk attempt."
smiley5.gif
the link includes video of the play.

Hansbrough goes in for a monster dunk on one of the Griffin brothers, gets fouled but doesn't get the call, and somehow he's "funny?" seriously.

The dunk attempt did look a little odd, with him a little too far from the basket. I don't know why that makes it the highlight play of the game.

The worst part of the clip was hearing that airhead say the words "President Obama." Just sounds bizarre.

I actually looked up his ratings in 08' and he was rated around 20 to 28. So that was outside the lottery. This season he is rated about 25 to 38. Yikes. So the iron was a blue flame and now it's not even lit....

I heard what they said. It was some of the most disgusting trash I have ever heard. Skip Bayless is the worst sissy boy hire that ESPN has ever made, even lower than Greenie and Golic.

Bayless and Hill over and over at one point denounced Hansbrough every chance they got. Brainless said at one point that he would start Ernie Davis over Hansbrough, and if Hansbrough doesn't do good, it won't impact UNC that much at all.

Of course Hill agreed with everything Skippy boy said.

I am getting very close to Emailing Skippy and let him know how I feel about that stuff that comes out of his mouth.

Just have a look at this little sissy-boy peabrain ESPN hired.
