What a loser. No offense to any CFers out there who are into them, but playing video video games past the age of 30 or so isa sign of an infantileman-child. So is wearing jerseys of players, though few things are quite as pathetic as 50 and 60 year old "men" doing so. Also, going to shows and paying lots of money to have these mercenaries sign video games, bats, footballs, whatever. It's no different than women whose lives used to revolve around soap operas, which have since been replaced by "reality" shows. It would be a healthy step forward if the drunk White masses began trying to have well-rounded, interestinglives of their own rather than being satisfied to live vicariously through the lives of athletes and other "celebrities."

I agree, especially the part about wearing Jerseys. I was never big into the Jersey craze and by the time I got into my mid twenties it just started to seem creepy. The last jersey I purchased was an Urlacher Jersey right after he signed with the Bears in 2000 when I was 23. Even at that age I was starting to get a little embarrassed to be seen in public with it, kind of like how I was about letting it be known that I watched pro wrestling when I was a young teenager. The only place I would wear it was to a football game, where lots of other DWF's were wearing them. It was like, what am I, a cheerleader wearing her boyfriends jersey in high school? I guess I can understand some guys wanting to play video games every now and again, although I am at a stage in my life where they really don't appeal to me anymore, especially after having a child. It just doesn't seem right to be paying that much money out for fantasy when I need to be more responsible. They are a little more childish than other hobbies, but I guess if guys don't go overboard with the buying of the games and playing them all the time, they aren't too bad. Although I have to say, I know no one personally my age who is into video games that doesn't get a little too wrapped up in them.

I don't see the big deal about video games. I never got into them myself, but if someone likes to relax and play a game, I don't think it's a big deal. Golf,tennis, cards are games and adults play them for fun.

I can't understand why someone would want to spend hours in the cold for a chance to shoot a deer, but if they like it who cares.

The question is why follow sports at all. They don't improve my life. The players don't care about me. I am not going to pay money to make these goons millions to retire at 35, while I have to work. I haven't really cared about a team winning since I was in college. I'll pay money to watch, if a friend or relative plays sports, but that is it.

Although, I do like watching the end of any football game when a team is trying to tie or win in the last minutes. That is fun to watch at any level and it doesn't matter that I don't care who wins.

I just buy hats or t-shirts that have no team logo on them now because I don't like wearing things with a team on them. I never had an official jersey, although I had one that was sort of like a jersey with no logo or name that I wore when we played football because you couldn't tackle by grabbing it because it was very tight, not like a sweatshirt.

I've never had a problem with wearing official sports team jerseys, t-shirts, etc, as long as there is no player's name on the back. The last t-shirt I got (about 7 years ago) was a Vintage NHL one that just has the team logo and name on the front. Before that the last sports replica shirt I got (about 10 years ago) was when I lived in the UK and it was of the local soccer team. There was no number or player name on the back. I'm an admirer of certain athletes however I'd feel kind of weird walking around with some other man's name on my clothes!

I haven't followed sports clothing marketing too closely but my impression is that it is now very common to have a particular player name on the back. That most certainly was not the case in the 80s and 90s when I was more likely to buy sports clothing. Back then it was just the team colours, logo, etc. Edited by: Matra1

I have several jerseys of white players in various sports that I wear from time to time to show support and don't see the big deal about it nor is it childish. It's not what you wear it's the worshipful attitudes that one tends to have towards athletes and other celebrities that is the problem.

I was generalizing, there's many exceptions when it comes to video games, jersey wearing, etc. I like fantasy football, which many believe is infantile. The thought of that DWF above asking his girlfriend to get Tiger to sign his video game as his first reaction to finding out she was in touch with him -- not jealousy but undying Tiger worship -- set off my little rant.
