The waiving of Standeford is the biggest outrage of all the cuts this year, followed by Chas Gessner. Standeford had patiently paid his dues and earned his place on the Colts. He was such a consistent and productive receiver at Purdue and also a big play guy, has all the tools and smarts you want in a receiver, would have fit in very nicely with the Colts offense and the way Peyton Manning changes plays at the line. It really is pathetic to string him along like that and then dump him. I don't see any other team giving him a chance either.

The Colts still have the most white players in the NFL. They got 24 compared to 27 blacks plus a couple of mixed. If they would have kept Standeford it would be way to close to 50% white according to league standards.

It looks like the Packers picked up Kuhn off of waivers. Good to see he is on a active roster and not sent back to a practice squad.

Anyone notice Luke Lawton is the third RB on the Colts? They have Addai, Kenton Keith and Lawton. Hopefully he will become a part of the Colts running game seeing as they used a 2 back system and Lawton has great size compared to the other 2 rbs

yes sir, i've noticed that, but i think he won't be much used since Colts traditionally don't use fullback much. maybe he'll get a couple chances to carry a rock, who knows.

I almost wonder if the Colts waived Standeford b/c they felt they had to. They also have a new promising white in Anthony Gonzalez with more speed and hype. I feel like Dungy probably thought Standeford was good enough to be a 4th or 5th WR on their team, but that it was smarter to bring in a new black prospect like Roy Hall or whatever his name was b/c it would ease tension on the team with the racially charged blacks.

I think that if the NFL was fair Standeford is good enough where he would work his way up to a second WR job in a couple years on another team or even the Colts after Harrison retires, but that would mean two out of the top three WR's on the team would be white.

Standeford was a great college player having broken conference records at Purdue, but he is no Tory Holt or Marvin Harrison, and doesn't have the notoriety that a Notre Dame player like Jeff Smiydarja had. Which means if you are white you are replaceable. A white has to be either "incredibly" good to have staying power in the league and still has to wait a while to get his chance(Ed McCaffery), or has to have a coach and fans who believe in him for some reason. For instance he made a big catch in the playoffs or was a workout warrior like Matt Jones.

Some guys just get the luck of the draw, like a black getting hurt in front of them when they are already well known from college. For instance, if Brian Leonard got to start this year b/c of an injury to Steven Jackson and put up Jackson type numbers he would be noticed as he is already a big college star from the NY metropolitan area. That would mean that he would catch on as a starter when his contract was up with another team.

Then there are those that are better than Leonard, IMO, like Jesse Lumsden or Kyle Bell (or possibly as good like Tre Smith, Dan Burks, John Englebert or Kevin Harris) but don't have the notoriety. That means they won't get a chance unless they play like Ladamian Tomlinson. Anyway just my two cents. A long two cents at that! Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Moorehead has been on the Colts longer than Standerford, has not shown any potential or else they would not of drafted Gonzo. Standeford is also better than Roy Hall who did nothing in college and is a workout warrior plain and simple.

I think you're right on with that point. Fans underrate locker room cohesion and team chemistry as part of a successful football team. You're damn right that other blacks on the team will start to notice a conspicuous number of whites at skill positions. It makes me wanna puke when I hear ignorant fans swear that the best players will play, period.
