after just 1 minute of play with his new team west ham (as a titular) carroll is involved on the first goal of the match:

Andy Carroll has taken just over 40 seconds to make his mark in east London. He wins a majestic header, the ball being lumped down the middle. He flicks it on to Vaz Te down the inside-right channel. Vaz Te cuts inside, and knocks the ball left to Nolan, who guides a brilliant first-time shot back across goal and into the right-hand corner of the net. Penny for Brendan Rodgers thoughts.

@TBProdigy:
Although on the positive there looks to be a lot of future material for the black flops thread.

great

i'm watching the match live, carroll is incredible
he gifted a goal after 9 minutes to a black striker who missed it

Carroll is making one hell of an instant impact. On the edge of the area, just to the left of goal, he cushions a header back to Diame, who pelts a super shot goalwards. It's straight at Schwarzer, though, and the keeper tips over. But only just. The corner comes to naught, but this is very promising indeed from Carroll, who is now worth £36m.

41 min: GOAL!!! The Andy Carroll Experience 3-0 Fulham. From deep on the right, Collins clips a long free kick into the area. Under extreme pressure from - who else? - Carroll, Hangeland can only head out weakly to the edge of the area, where Taylor rushes in and skelps a confident finish into the bottom right. Schwarzer was rooted, no chance. This is a brilliant display by West Ham United, but by one player in particular, and he's not even on the scoresheet himself.

68 min: A double change for West Ham. First Collins is replaced by Tomkins. Then Carroll goes up for a header with Hangeland, only to land awkwardly. He doesn't look totally jiggered or anything, but he's holding his thigh, and limps off to be replaced by Cole. He receives a thunderous round of applause for his troubles as he departs; he's been absolutely magnificent today.

i hope he's not injuried

He is--hamstring. He will miss the England games. No Rooney or Carroll. That means a black strike force for England. What is with English players and injuries. Hell, they just go out jogging and get injured.

Rooney, Wilshere and Carroll are missing. 2 definite starters and I would have started Carroll too.

I just saw the highlights. Good for Carroll. I'd prefer him at Liverpool but it is better to get playing time at West Ham than warming the bench at Liverpool. Shame about the hamstring injury.

BTW I see Marseille have signed Joey Barton. I'm surprised any team on earth would sign him given his...uh...thuggery issues.

regarding muscular injuries it could be because of the cold tmperatures
i didn't even report it but lucas leiva from liverpool had a miscular injury alos in his comeback match
once a player in england comes back from an injury or gets on the bench for too long, watch out

BTW I see Marseille have signed Joey Barton. I'm surprised any team on earth would sign him given his...uh...thuggery issues.

he's the 6th white player of marseille, out of 26 players
we sent mbia to QPR, i hope that he will help them to get relegated
marseille is fascinating
they have a gabonese player born in gabon to a black father and a chinese mother
if you wonder what such a mix looks like, google "Alexander N'Doumbou"
but elie baup does wonders with the team, and gignac, one of the white players, is back to scoring (he's a gipsy though)

What on earth is going on at Liverpool? It looks like the owners won't pony up to bring Clint Dempsey to Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers, the Liverpool manager, spent transfer deadline day trying to convince his hierarchy of the need to secure the American international.Fenway Sports Group were unwilling to meet the price – understood to be £1 million above that quoted to other clubs – and now Rodgers faces the improbable task of leading Liverpool back into the Champions League with Luis Suárez as the only experienced striker at the club.

reina had another mistake today vs arsenal:

Cazorla's shot, from a fairly acute angle to the left of goal, was low and hard but distinctly saveable. Reina got most of his body to it, but succeeded only in deflecting the ball into the roof of his own net at the near post.

arsenal won 2-0, and they were whiter than liverpool

8 whites for Arsenal and only one all black. The two half black were "English". It will be interesting when Wilshere comes back. I wonder how there line up will look.

Southampton had 9 white starters and almost beat MU, but they had 2 Africans come on late in the game and MU came back to win. One guy was from Zambia. Zambia?

can you believe that brad friedel is 41 years old:

i don't know if he's reliable or not but he's spectacular and has amazing reflex saves
it's crazy that tim howard could have played titular in the US national team wile there is this guy

also arsenal is the only team in the league that didn't had a goal scored against them (they have white defenders)
i hope their forwards will adapt and manage to play well together, and that giroud will be more relaxed

the teams from manchester have 5 goals scored against them (and they have black defenders)
and chelsea 2 (with white defenders)

In my world
I hear in the sport news now as I am eating lunch and taking a break, that the Greek legendary captain Karagounis, should be 99% considered player of Fulham. I think that's a great transfer for a team like Fulham, Giorgos will add quality and experience to the team. Plus this will benefit the captain too who was not included in national team's 23 for the first time after 1999. He needs one more game to reach 121 participation and break the record of Zagorakis with 120! I think Karagounis will make it in the World Cup of 2014 and then retire as the greatest Greek footballer ever maybe. (If one could ever surpass Hatzipanagis in pure skill)

Great news I think!

regarding the racial breakdowns, the top teams used some substitutes if they could afford it because the champions league starts soon
so some teams were blacker than usual

what a nightmarish start of the season for liverpool...they lost lucas leiva because of injury, now agger

and today against manchester united the refereeing changed the match with a red card to shevley, a penalty not given to liverpool for a foul on suarez, and a penalty given to manchester united
liverpool played better than manchester united but with a red card this early in the game...

also loaning andy carroll wasn't wise because now suarez is the only one up front, and he's not really a striker
and all the crosses they do are useless because caroll is not there

on the other hand arsenal (8 white starters usually) managed to draw 1-1 in manchester city, they showed that they are a really good team this season - they might even be a contender for the title
very good match, except for gervinho who was useless (arsene wenger said after the match that he was disappointed because arsenal missed a lot of chances - pretty much all of them were missed by gervinho)

Prior to the opening goal, the two best openings of the half had both fallen to the visitors; the first after 15 minutes when Gervinho was played clean through on goal by Aaron Ramsey but produced a dismal first touch that saw the ball run away from him to goalkeeper Joe Hart.

At the other end, Gervinho missed a superb opportunity with an injury-time shot that sailed over the bar from 16 yards.

these are the ones i recall the most, the first one especially showed that he's not good nough to play in a top club because his first touch is not good enough

The commentator that I was listening to said that was the worst touch he has ever seen at that level.

It's a shame for Liverpool. They played well. That should have only been a yellow. DAvid Luiz had a worse tackle against Stoke and only got a yellow. Shelvey got the ball first.

I can't imagine what they would do if Suarez got injured.

The commentator that I was listening to said that was the worst touch he has ever seen at that level.

i thought the same, it was unreal
it's very important because it's in this kind of big match that you can judge a player, it's when bad players get exposed and when good players can make the difference
joe hart was coming really fast towards gervinho
a lot of people (including commentators and pundits) believe (or act like they believe) that gervinho is skilled, but actually he's absolutely not skilled
you don't judge the skills of a player by his ability to pull out fancy tricks, but in this kind of momments
i always give the example of ronaldo's goal against holland during the 1998 world cup, so here's another example:

in a match between the 2 best (and whitest) teams in france, PSG and lille, look especially the replays
lille's goalkeeper comes out of his goal very fast, so there is no room for ibrahimovic to miss his control, the touch has to be perfect

That should have only been a yellow. DAvid Luiz had a worse tackle against Stoke and only got a yellow. Shelvey got the ball first.

honestly i don't understand how he can get a red card for this, the other player did the same (i think it was evans), i didn't see any difference
