Emilie Erasmus 10.01

Provincial championships today

Emile had a good day ran 3 100m's.

A heat, shut himself down after 50m and cruised to a second place in 10.48 to qualify for the semi finals.
Ran much the same in the semi's to qualify for the final. He ran a 10.26. Winner ran a 10.06(pb)
Final was weird. He had a great start and was still in front at 45m. Started to stumble but still managed a 3rd place also 10.26. 2nd place ran 10.17 and 1st went to the winner of his semi in 9.99. the winner is still a junior(U/20) and broke the South African record.

I will post the the vids tomorrow.

He starts preparing for the South African Championships on Monday which are at the end of April. There might still be an event or 2 before then.

His coach is extremely happy with most of the 2.5 years of cobwebs out of his system.

He is competing a lot but all the races are used to build back his form of 3 years ago.

A photo of Wednesday
so Emile is right now in form to run 2 1/2 repeats of 100 in one session.
He's getting ready to manage several rounds which is great news with the championships still 6 weeks away. He could be really fresh and primed by then with the hard work being finished.
I trust he was still feeling good by the end of the day - i.e. no injury or undue soreness concerns?

No health issues. He is 100% fit. He is really enjoying himself and absolutely loving every moment.

It was great to see him manage 3 races in 1 day. Shows massive maturity

I just saw Emile managed a 10.19 in Pretoria yesterday. Both he and the winner were timed in 10.19 (+0.7)

The last month of the races of Emile Erasmus in 2026. Still running so fast after all of these years. You love to see it!

June 19th he ran a 10.09 and 10.05 wind legal.

June 28th he ran a 10.09 legal and 10.00 slightly windy.

July 3rd he a 10.10 wind legal.

What a tear he has been on and he has been racing alot since February as the South African Season is most countries winters season.
To still run these types of times after 6 months of sprinting is incredible. What incredible shape he is in & he takes good care of his body.
