Duke: marginalization of white players

I have become disgusted with Duke and how as in all caste sports, if white are allowed to play they are there as "servants" for the affletes. Take the case of Greg Paulus. He was the top rated point guard in the country when he was in HS. Since he has been at Duke his game has greatly deteriorated. The following factors , in my opinion have contributed to this: 1. Like almost all white starters for Duke he is subjected to incredible verbal abuse. Of course, the Duke haters, won't even think of verbally abusing a black Duke player. 2. Being white , he has been subjected to violence from the animals from the opposing teams. For example, at Florida State last season, he was assaulted by several blacks players. Of course, the refs had a case of temporary blindness and there were no consequences for the brutal assault of Paulus. 3. Paulus at first, probably had a strong desire to play in the NBA. He was quickly made aware that all white American basketball players are :lacking: lateral quickness, athleticism etc.So since his countless hours of practice weren't going to lead to his dream coming true, he understandably had a decrease in enjoyment from playing. NBA draft web sites run by jock sniffing, drooling white idiots always belittle the ability of any white college player to become a pro. Look at Tyler Hansborough. He could score 100 points a game , and the jock sniffers would find reasons why he won't be successful. So Paulus who was good enough to start as a freshman, is not even a starter.I think it is disgraceful to treat Paulus like this. If "Coach K" who is not a good coach but always has good players, had any integrity , even if he really believes Smith is better, he , at least start Paulus, then quickly sub him out if necessary. Many coaches who have real integrity will allow seniors more leeway because they are seniors. Paulus is receiving the opposite treatment . He is being humiliated by being replaced with someone who is , in no way a point guard. I see the same thing happening to Jon Scheyer. I still believe he is a better player than Gerald Henderson. However, Scheyer is called on by Coach K to do the "dirty work" i.e. guard the best player., while Henderson has a much easier defensive assignment. When on offense, Smith the terrible point guard who had no assists today, , will almost never look for Scheyer, but will always look for Henderson. Once Henderson has the ball, his teammates will clear out taking their defenders out of the way so they can't help guard Henderson. So he has a much easier time scoring or getting to the foul line. Scheyer never gets any "clear outs". because Blacks don't "clear out" for whites. So if Scheyer goes one on one there are usually other defenders to help guard him. Henderson has a slightly higher 3 point shooting percentage. I don't think he is a better 3 point shooter. Scheyer is constantly set to receive a pass for a 3 point shot but is ignored 90% of the time. So his timing is thrown off, and the quality of his shot opportunities is much worse than Henderson. Speaking of white Duke players who are "marginalized" JJ Redick, who had been averaging about 13 points a game in his last 4 games was "rewarded" by playing 10 minutes in last night's game. Of course, this was rationalized as the rookie black Courtney Lee, is more "athletic" and thus had to play 38 minutes to "guard" Koby Bryant. But he couldn't guard Bryant and the Magic had to double team him. The excuse that the low-life bum Van Gundy gave for barely allowing JJ to play was absurd. JJ could hit 10 3 pointers in a row and the real coach of the Magic, Dwight Howard will have JJ's behind glued to the bench in the next game. The imbeciles who are allegedly college students always show incredible hostility to any good white college players. Kevin Love was extremely abused last season . HIs cell phone number was made public, so the little turds from opposing schools could act like the incredibly immature PCers, and bother him. If they did any such thing to a black player, It would be the lead story on all the MSM outlets as a case of "outrageous racism". The decades of brainwashing by the liberal teachers and colleges that produce teachers and commericals which are required to have the stupid idiotic white male, usually with a very smart wise black male or female have done the damage they were intended to do.
So today, when in a few days Obongo the totally unqualified fool will take office , the white male is considered a cancer on humanity and is made out to be the cause of all that is wrong in the world . The campaign against the white man is obviously working.
Everyone, don't forget to celebrate Saint Martin day on Monday. The only other US holiday that celebrates the birth of someone is the day that celebrates the birth of God.

I'm not really a Duke "team fan" - but I'm glad they beat Georgetown and warrior Kyle Singler (who does look a bit sickly) had 16 rebounds to go with 15 points. Simply phenomenal!

I felt this was a "trap game" for Duke, so I'm really glad they won this game.


As for Whites in college basketball crowds, they are usually very short and dorky... it's hard to spot anything resembling an alpha-male amongst them.

It's no wonder that they display PURE jealousy against tall White ballers who have the audacity to face the African superhumans, something that would never ever cross their minds (i.e. standing up for themselves).

Great post. You covered just about everything. I've rooted for Duke often over the years, and other than a few years in the late '90s when Coach K seemed to contract mullato fever, they've consistently had more white players than any other succssful college team. Reddick, and to a lesser extent Dunleavy, are really the only white exceptions to this rule in recent years.

That being said, you are right about the way white players are turned into role players or secondary options by Coach K. I've definitely seen a clear trend this season to make Henderson the "star" of the team.

As long as the drunk white fans in the stands boo the lone white on the court, and are willing to come to fisticuffs over "their" black players, nothing will change. This is all part and parcel of Don King's America, and it's not a lot of fun.

Paulus has had a tough time in the 6th man role but in the last game against Georgetown he played great in 23 minutes. I agree that Paulus Should be starting and that Smith is horrible but Like last year Duke needs a spark off the bench.Scheyer played great in it last year and has been rewarded. I understand that it is hard to go from being a three year starter to in your senior season being 6th man but Duke needs a guy that can come off the bench and score at any second.

Also Henderson has been on fire recently. He could not miss against Georgetown. I don't understand why he should not still get the ball if he makes these shots then continue giving him the ball. Scheyer has been in a big slump which i think will mean he will only start shooting more if he does the little things a team needs first and then his hard work will pay off. But for right now Henderson and SIngler should get half of the shots Duke takes a game.

Courtney Lee in fact did do a good Job on Kobe. But the thing that really gets me mad is (.1 he plays the most minutes on the whole team and he is a ROOKIE the last two games he has played 38 and 39 minutes. JJ has been on fire while Lee has played Mediocre so let JJ play at least 20 a game. (2. Keith Bogans who has been in a shooting slump for 2 years still gets more minutes then Redick. Bogans has got all his chances playing over 30 minutes a game Multiple times this year and he has not produced stats. So the thing i don't understand is why give JJ 12 minutes in a game and Bogans 14.

Lastly I would like to say Hansbrouugh has no future in the NBA. I am not just saying this because i am a duke fan but because all he can do is throw up bricks and score 30% of them. His rebounds have decreased this year which makes him a one dementional player.

It's really a sad fact, Greg Paulus to me should have been already one of the top point guards of the nation. Because of all he is going through right now, I doubt he even has a chance to jump to the NBA.

Kyle Singler is one of the best young white prospects I have seen in years, and for him to trained as a role-player is utterly wrong.

Jon Scheyer to me, is also one of the best guards of the nation, like Singler and Paulus, it's plain stupid to make these guys just role-players.

Is it always necessary to make a black player the BEST of a particular team?

Even the great Pete Maravich had a very difficult rookie season in the NBA because , as I always suspected he went to the blackest team at the time, the Atlanta Blackhawks. They deliberately froze him out being the incredible racists most blacks are. This brings
me to why Tyler Hansborough, has been so successful, and will be in the NBA despite what the drooling ,jock-sniffers (I don't mean Redick 0829 whose opinions I respect) believe. He plays a position and style which is less prone to racist black teammates and their butler , I mean white coach. My point about Piston Pete illustrates how no matter how good a white player is (Maravich was one of the all-time greats and the best ballhandler ever ) his scoring can be greatly held down by racist black teammates. Coach K who should be known as Coach L (for lackey) has ruined more white talent than the rest of college coaches put together. Look at Shavlik Randolph who was one of the top HS players in the country prior to making the mistake of signing with coach L. He was barely getting any minutes by his sophmore year. Anyone would think if someone can't get minutes on Duke , if they are white , they have 0% chance of ever playing in the NBA. Randolph left school after playing 7 minutes a game in his sophmore year and made the roster of the 76ers.
If Paulus would have gone to Syracuse , maybe, Boeheim, would have been much more loyal and started Paulus all four years and made sure Paulus got the amount of shots he deserved. Boeheim was very loyal to Gerry McNamara, who singlehandedly won the Big East tournament for 'Cuse despite being injured. Of course, Boeheim can only do so much , and McNamara hasn't and will never play a minute in the NBA. Why did many white players agreed to accept lesser roles to play for the Celtics when they had Bird and McHale. It wasn't just to play on a winner. They knew Bird ran the team, and whites would be treated fairly. There hasn't been an NBA team since, that has treated whites Americans with any fairness. The Orlando Black Magic preferred to let Redick rot on the bench rather than trading him because IMO, even sitting on the bench he attracts fans to the game , who ,if their lucky will see JJ in a "cameo" role playing a few minutes during garbage time.

Very good statement reflecting the reality of racism in basketball (NBA and NCAA). My opinion, is that most White Americans don't seem to have a serious desire to pursue a basketball career. Take Shavlik Randolph, he was great in HS, but he actually went to Duke to get a degree (whatever it was).

Some of the most dedicated US White hoopsters I have seen jump to the NBA after 1-3 years in college (Kevin Love, Ryan Anderson, Spencer Hawes, Mike Miller, the Lopez twins, David Lee.....etc). But so far, the last White American to make an NBA All-Star game is Brad Miller, who is undrafted.

Most hispanics to me are white, the only difference between Whites and Hispanics Whites is Language (English--Spanish) and Religion (Catholic--Protestant).

Though Tyler Hansbrough may go the full term (4 years) in college hoops, this guy has a burning will and desire rarely seen among US white players, to truly pursue a basketball career. The same can be said of Luke Harangody, I can't say the same though for Chase Budinger, because he has all but yielded to Jordan Hill.

As for other American Whites of college hoops, it depends on what college they are going to overall. If there is one thing I have noticed, small colleges don't seem to be a haven anymore for whites:

Rik Smits - Marist
Larry Bird - Indiana State
Dan Majerle - Central Michigan
Chris Kaman - Central Michigan
Jack Sikma - Illinois Wesleyan
Nick Fazekas - Nevada

I doubt another there is another White College star from a small college at this point, if there is please correct me. Even though there is a good number of good white players in college, the probability of any of them becoming an NBA Star is extremely small</span>, I hate to say.

Lastly I would like to say Hansbrouugh has no future in the NBA. I am not just saying this because i am a duke fan but because all he can do is throw up bricks and score 30% of them. His rebounds have decreased this year which makes him a one dementional player.

Even the great Pete Maravich had a very difficult rookie season in the NBA because , as I always suspected he went to the blackest team at the time, the Atlanta Blackhawks. They deliberately froze him out being the incredible racists most blacks are. This brings
me to why Tyler Hansborough, has been so successful, and will be in the NBA despite what the drooling ,jock-sniffers (I don't mean Redick 0829 whose opinions I respect) believe. He plays a position and style which is less prone to racist black teammates and their butler , I mean white coach. My point about Piston Pete illustrates how no matter how good a white player is (Maravich was one of the all-time greats and the best ballhandler ever ) his scoring can be greatly held down by racist black teammates. Coach K who should be known as Coach L (for lackey) has ruined more white talent than the rest of college coaches put together. Look at Shavlik Randolph who was one of the top HS players in the country prior to making the mistake of signing with coach L. He was barely getting any minutes by his sophmore year. Anyone would think if someone can't get minutes on Duke , if they are white , they have 0% chance of ever playing in the NBA. Randolph left school after playing 7 minutes a game in his sophmore year and made the roster of the 76ers.
If Paulus would have gone to Syracuse , maybe, Boeheim, would have been much more loyal and started Paulus all four years and made sure Paulus got the amount of shots he deserved. Boeheim was very loyal to Gerry McNamara, who singlehandedly won the Big East tournament for 'Cuse despite being injured. Of course, Boeheim can only do so much , and McNamara hasn't and will never play a minute in the NBA. Why did many white players agreed to accept lesser roles to play for the Celtics when they had Bird and McHale. It wasn't just to play on a winner. They knew Bird ran the team, and whites would be treated fairly. There hasn't been an NBA team since, that has treated whites Americans with any fairness. The Orlando Black Magic preferred to let Redick rot on the bench rather than trading him because IMO, even sitting on the bench he attracts fans to the game , who ,if their lucky will see JJ in a "cameo" role playing a few minutes during garbage time.

First of all Keith Lincoln do not insult Coach K because he is one of the few coaches that gives whites a chance. If Paulus went to Syracuse he would not of been a four year starter. Gerry McNamara was still at the Cuse in Paulus first season. I think that Coach K knows that Paulus is a all Around better player then smith he just needs some scoring and energy off the bench. I mean look at Manu he comes off the bench but it is obvious that Popovich knows that he is better then Roger Mason but the Spurs need scoring off the bench and that is what might be best for the team. Maybe that is the same with Duke but every fan white or black knows that Paulus is a better player then Smith.

Also Randolph was really good coming out of high school but he went to Duke and when you are a All American and then you go to Duke it is not a guaranty that you will get significant minutes because Duke gets A LOT of great high school players but not all get a lot of playing time.

Coach K is a joke. I don't have time to reiterate what I've been telling you for a couple years -- no one has wasted more white prep All-American talent than Mikey.

However, Paulus is not one of them. He was never good, just a media hype job because he was going to Duke.

Paulus was/is a good college basketball player. however, he doesn't have the physical tools to make the jump to the next level.

Greg paulus played incredible against UNC last night. I have never seen him play so well! He brought a spark to the team knocking down jumpers, and really hustling and playing shut down D. Scheyer and Singler also played well. At times Duke had Nolan Smith and Paulus on the court at the same time. Finally! It is clear they are two very different point guards. Paulus is a natural leader who can make plays defensively as well. Nolan is more of a slashing point guard with better athleticism though Paulus is not tight hipped whitey either. Henderson is a good player but he takes too many bad shots! In the end UNC was just too much for Duke. Cant wait for Plumlee to arrive next year, he could have a huge impact on Dke successin the 2010 season.

Greg Paulus needs to start for the remainder of the season. Nolan Smith is a good player but when teams press full court he's a turnover waiting to happen.

It's unfortunately hard to remain un-casted with a high profile program. You can receive endless negative & bigoted criticism from sports media, for being too White/too preppy, etc..
When Duke won their 91-92 national championship they had a predominately White team, and the 92-93 championship team was a racially 50/50 squad.. which in context of college hoops was un-casted.. My sense is that Coach K is fair, and in the past he recruited individuals (not races).. but maybe the diversity critique/full court press is causing Duke's program to go full-on caste..

I believe since he started coaching the Olympic team his recruiting of players has suffered. Although he won a Championship in 2010, the quality of his players just doesn't seem up to par. Maybe some of the great white players as well as the good black players he used to get have slipped through his hands and have went to other schools.

By spending time and energy with the Olympic team, it could also be affecting his coaching/recruiting and the energy and time it takes to be an NCAA Championship coach.

I'm glad but they are both shooting guards. We have so precious few of these 4/5 star guards that I'd hate to see them bottle each other up for playing time. I suppose they could play a 3 guard lineup...

Yes it is nice to see non centers with high ratings sign up with the big schools. Duke is a terrific place because they are so high profile and always on TV with a stellar coach.

Well, I found myself watching the nearly all-black (the lone exception was Duke's guard Greyson Allen). McDonald's All-American game while I was waiting for the USA vs. Mexico to come on. One of Duke's magical affletes heading there next year, big man Jahlil Okafor, was playing in the game. At one point, I noticed the announcer asked his black color commentator "Okafor is the best big Duke's had since when?" And the black guy replied "Shelden Williams and Elton Brand!" Just as he was saying this, the magic afflete used his incredible skills and missed a lay-up!! Yep, he's definitely "oozing potential." At least he looked incredibly affletic while he was missing! Two points here: One, the guy hasn't played a SINGLE minute of college ball, let alone practiced with the team. Two, don't they remember Miles or Mason Plumlee, who are currently tearing it up in the NBA?

Now, they're praising Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker and their amazing skill sets from last year. Granted, he had a 40 point game, but what about his paltry 4 points in the NCAA Tourney against Stanford? It amazes me these guys lavishing praise on these over-hyped prima donnas in a game where there's been absolutely NO defense to be played. Hell, it reminds me of an NBA game. Which is accurate, considering all these guys will be propped up through college, and will be in the NBA one day. There are some good players obviously, be a ton of these guys are waaayy over-hyped.

Nice NDfootball06, however, after watching some the McDonald's All-Black HS BB Game, let's hope Allen gets more playing time at Duke. I've only seen him play about 1:30 of the 2nd half and only touched the ball once while hustling for a loose ball. I'm not sure how much he played in the 1st half.

This game is really sickening. Besides Allen, there's only one other white player, Thomas Welsh, on either roster out of 24 players. No matter how many times it's said, I'll never understand how or why white people pay money to watch these games.

I turned it over just to see if there was any white players at all.

The slam dunk champion was just put back in with a minute left.

I agree. At least Titus or whatever that loser's name was from the season thread came out and said Duke's white player's have "punchable faces." It looks like that this p*ssy is going to have another "punchable face" playing for the Blue Devils next year. At least Marshall Plumlee will have some company as well. As I said in that thread, Lord knows he'd never actually say this stuff to their faces, because he knows he'd get his ass kicked.

That's awesome to hear as well about Allen winning the dunk contest!! And props to Stephen A. Smith for his remarks as well! I can't wait to watch this kid next year.
