Now, Deontay Wilder's management is trying to set up a fight with old Oleg Maskaev.

Oleg is age 44 looked very, very slow in his past fights against Beck and Gavern. He's been KOed 7 times in his pro career, most recently by journeyman Nagy Aguilera.

I think it's despicable that the management of a 29-0, 29 KO fighter is seeking these shot old boxers to make a name for himself when he should be fighting some fringe contenders and tough journeymen.

Damn right its despicable! If a white boxer tried to pull this pussy stuff he would be a laughing stock. It really shows just how superior white men are. This negro, and his masters are terrified of all the top white men. This coward is the best black Amerika has to offer.

Deontay "Blackstar" Wilder is trying to make money. He knows he can't beat the Klitschko's, he's obviously waiting for them to retire. Then "Blackstar" will fight for a title.

Absolutely correct. And the DWFs, negros, and media will NEVER admit that he ducked the Klits.

What a circus show. This is seriously ridiculous.

How badly are they going to protect Wilder? His management will take no risk whatsoever. Its actually pathetic that TV crews agree to televise his fights, which are more correctly called "mismatches". He's quite possibly the most protected fighter in boxing right now. I can't imagine Oleg Maskaev appearing again on either HBO or Showtime. What a horrible mismatch.

As I stated in a past thread, David Price, like Wilder is an Olympic Bronze Medalist and in just 15 fights (about half as many as Wilder) Price has faced far better competition.

Wilder has fought nothing but taxi drivers, tomato cans, and now theyre scraping the barrel for former, way past it champs.

30 fights and not a single one against a "live" opponent who actually had a shot at winning the fight. All of Wilder's opponents seem to be coming off of recent KO losses and losing streaks. At some point, even if the Klitschko's retire, Wilder is going to have to fight somebody who is on a win streak and with some skills.

This kind of "can crushing" wont pay off in the long run. You can only protect someone to a certain point.

To be honest Maskaev is a step back from the shot White Wolf. His chin on paper is worse and he is slower. The only thing he brings is a powerful right cross, but from the fights I have seen on this comeback his right hand and a sun dial are in a dead heat speed wise. There are better gate keeper types than Maskaev, maybe somebody like Cedric Boswell would be a better test, even Oliver McCall could soak up punishment and give him rounds. Still it would be fun if Maskaev could stagger and drop this con job.

Compare the fighters Vlad has fought with those Wilder has fought. Wach is 6 feet 8 inches tall, approx. 250 lbs., has a rock chin. Vlad is 6 feet 7 inches tall, has been since the Olympics, Vitali has always been 6 feet 8 inches tall. I remember when HBO said that Vlad was 6 feet 5 inches tall, so Vlad and Bostice were standing in the ring together, face to face, and Lampley, said, I don't get it, Vlad looks to bel at least 2 inches taller than Bostice. When Vlad fought Derrick Jefferson, Jefferson was 6 feet 6 inches tall, yet Vlad was taller. Same as when Vlad fought Austin, knocked Austin out in the second round using only his left hand. Austin was 6 feet 6, yet Vlad was taller. The height does not matter that much, it's the skill. Wilder does not have the skills that Vitali or Vlad has. Vlad said he would like to fight Wilder in the future. I guarantee you that Vlad is not at all concerned with Wilder, neither is Vitali................ Vlad toyed with Wilder in sparring for the Wach fight

I wonder if Wilder will step up in 2014, or will they continue putting him in with shot fighters and journeymen?

It looks like he will leap frog even a crossroads bout against a prime Botha or Mercer type to get a title shot for the WBC belt.....http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/wilder-camp-targets-stivernewbc-title-229764

Stiverne should win that fight. If Wilder somehow manages to get by Stiverne, he has absolutely 0 chance to beat Wlad and unify HW. Schaefer is out of his mind. Wilder has shown nothing to prove he's a threat to Wlad. It looks like his management knows he is garbage and are looking for just one pay day to cash out on him. Wlad will have all 4 belts soon.

Wilder is Malik Scott with power. He'll continue fighting scrubs until he is in his mid thirties, and then lose his first big fight.

Who knows? He doesn't want to fight Tony Thompson because the seasoned veteran would beat him. I'd like to see him fight Stiverne who should handle him fairly easily.
Thats the third video I've seen, i believe, where he's been dropped easily. He's got no chin. He's in big trouble against Stiverne who was able to hurt Areola.

Here is their plan: Wilder is now ranked #3 by WBC, #6 WBA, #12 IBF. They are planing to give that negro Wilder the WBC title without his fighting for it, after Vitali retires. If Wilder were to fight for that title it would probably be a rematch with Sconiers. Wilder would never have to fight anyone who can fight back.

This term 'Great Black Hope' is true in boxing these days because there is a lot of hype on these mediocre black Heavyweights like Seth Mitchell and now Wilder. Wilder's team is so afraid that he will end up exposed like Mitchell that they don't even try to match him with anyone good. They're just looking for anyone who is black and American to become HW champion. Even though this is the case, you could never go to a mainstream boxing web site and use the term Great Black Hope, even though it is true. You would get censored or banned. But to this day, even when describing the great Klitschkos, you will hear the ignorant racists on boxing sites using the outdated term 'Great White Hope.' I'm trying to figure out what guys who have dominated HW for 10 years are hoping for but the term is still in use and acceptable while Great Black Hope is not. :noidea:

I don't buy this crap! Scott was at least a step up from the tin cans Blackstar has been facing lately yet he still got him out of there in less than a round. Wilde has chicken legs, poor defense, and very bad technique.

Wilder is Primo Carnera all over again. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Some agency should pull Scott in and sweat him till he comes clean and gives up the players behind this poorly done sham.

De La Hoya is laughing all the way to the bank and probably thinking F those Puerto Ricans anyway.
