I was flipping through the channels and stumbled upon the convention and a tribute to Ted Kennedy. Very fawning coverage. Nothing illustrates in stark manner how out of step I am with the ruling paradigm then Ted Kennedy. I really hate that SOB, and the fact that he is so "beloved" just drives me nuts. They said there was people weeping after his speech. I feel like weeping too!

Did you see the pre-convention coverage on CSpan? It looked like a Saturday night party in urban detroit. I imagine the Dems are hoping that very few Americans tuned in to that display. That's the kind of 'aura' that only serves to remind people that this is still a group of ghetto thugs who are hoping to seize control over the country (and everyone's money).
I overhead some white county workers talking about the inmates at one of the correctional facilities. They kept referring to them as "Democrats". Took me a minute to realize it was their code for "blacks." Or maybe criminals!

Yeah, it's pretty much unwatchable, nothing more than an endlesswell-scripted propaganda infomercial, same as the Republican convention will be. Every third sentence in the speeches, no matter how bland and poorly delivered, is cheered like a 60 yard touchdown has just been scored. Party conventions used to be contentious, now everything has been decided well ahead of time, there will be no dissension allowed, very fitting for the era in which we're living.
It's sadly comical listening to the party pols still pretending that there's huge differences between the two wings of the perpetual one-party system in this country. Fewer Americans seem to buy it these days, but the system is perfected and closed. . . what can you do?Edited by: Don Wassall

Television is an unbelievably powerful medium with which to mold emotions and opinions -- for those who never think critically or question what's presented to them, which unfortunately is the large majority of Americans. I don't think they're necessarily stupid, but they seem to be hopelessly "programmed" or trained to see and believe only what the system wants them to see and believe. Anything else either doesn't sink in or is angrily rejected,and even if the light bulb goes on in their heads for a few seconds it's quickly forgotten. It really is a discouraging situation.

What bothers me the most is to see young white people so thrilled about what is going on there.

Like others have echoed, I think this is a very symbolic election. If, God-forbid, Obama is elected, our society will be a tanking ship. More rap music in our face, more ghetto thugs being elevated in society, more black history and lies in schools and entertainment. Most of all, it will send the message "White people cannot even elect a white president anymore," playing to the increasingly perceived weakness of whites in society.
There will be many more demoralizing articles written about whites, as opposed to angry ones, which I see as a new trend. I can see an article regarding "racism" in sports: "There's even a site called Castefootball.com, which still refuses to acknowledge that blacks are superior athletes, by even agreeing that whites make up nearly none of the star positions in the NFL. Despite there being a handful of occasional posters, one of the only regular contributers is named Col. Reb, in homage of the fading support there once used to be for the Southern cause."
This is the kind of BS you will see shoved into our faces, thinks that try to make us feel sorry for ourselves.

I agree E.Slide. This election is a race election, and tho I do not like McCain and have often voted third party in the past, I am voting for him this time.

I am disappointed. I expected Hillary Clinton to declare that BHO is a loser and then ask for the deligates for their support. Upon hearing this, Hillary's supporters take out hidden weapons and beat up BHO's supporters. After they all died or were driven out, Hillary asks for an open vote, where naturally she is nominated.
