A lot of people didn't know who he was before GB selected him, he was just someone out of Northwestern. With GB taking him in decent draft position, they definitely wanted him, and I have some optimism that they'll find creative ways to use him (with his size, athleticism and football smarts), maybe a little bit sooner than later.

Lowry tested out to be very athletic. He should do well.

This is good in that anytime a White DL is selected it means he overcame a lot of the odds against him to get into the NFL, much less be among those drafted, as many who actually make it onto a team are passed over during the draft. I know some guys here have not been fond of McCarthy and the way he used or didn't choose or use some of our favs in his rotations but this looks like a good sign.

Being in Green Bay bodes well for the former 2star recruit and NU Wildcat. With a healthy and steady year he could be in line to be a perennial starter for the Pack. They've got several black DL up for FA in 2017 and Julius Peppers will probably retire. As everyone here hoping he sees the field sooner than later!

I think the Pack should be a favorite this year, I think they realize that Air Rogers is on the downside or plateau of his career and now it is D and run that need to be buttressed. If they can pull their head out of their backsides with the WR situation and find a running game and balance the D so some pressure comes from someone else as well as Clay I put them in the running for the SB

Dean Lowry is looking to make BIG strides heading into his 2nd year. In limited playing time he put up 8tkls and 2sks, a 3rd sack was negated by a penalty. At 6'6 298 Lowry is going to be bigger, faster, stronger in 2017 as he aims to be playing at 305 with added bulk and strength to deal with double teams from NFL O-lineman.

Lowry is listed as a starter on Green Bay's first official depth chart.

Jake Ryan and Blake Martinez are still listed as starting ILBs, but the media is generating a lot of hype for Joe Thomas and Morgan Burnett (a safety who has been taking snaps at linebacker).
