Jimmy Chitwood
Hall of Famer
perhaps this thread belongs in the High School forum, because the athlete technically is still a high school senior. but ...
Dan Chisena (Downingtown East, PA) is one of the fastest kids in America. on the track, he's run a wind-legal 10.52 100-meters (actually, it was run into a headwind for the #23 time in the USA this year) and a wind-legal 21.26 (#28 in the USA). he's the absolute fastest kid in the state of Pennsylvania, and it's not even close. he won 3 State Championships this past Saturday (May 23) in the 100 (10.52), the 200 (21.29), and the 4x100 (42.01).
on the football field at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, he's a big playmaking target at wide receiver.
despite all that, he didn't receive a single Division One scholarship offer. he will be a walk-on. "weird," huh? especially since i thought all those bigger schools covet speed ...
