Ok guys.Call me stupid if you want but you can hold me to my prediction.Pickering will run in the 9.7 to 9.8 range barring some kind of serious career ending injury.I am going with what I know and you guys can laugh at me if I'm wrong. On the other hand, remember that you heard it here first.Don't forget.I see a kid who will not quit until he is on top.People forget that whites mature slower than blacks as far as there bodies go.Also many other sprinters including Mo were not exactly world record breakers at 20 years of age.Look how old Allan Wells was when he dominated.Craig is no where near what he is capable of.TRUST ME ON THAT!!!!!

Huge race in Greece on Monday.Let's hope that Pickering can run like greece lightning!

Matic Osovnikar will also be lining up next to Craig along with the young Greek Sprinter(forget the name).

This is a huge race with world class talent like Obikwelu. Let's see how Craig fairs.I see a big time coming tommorow.Good luck to them.

I see at least a pb if not a 10.0X which would be great. I also hope he can hang with Obikwelu(If not beat him).

I'll be happy if he breaks the 10 second barrier. Then maybe.... But I love your enthusiasm WL. Edited by: KG2422

Pickering came second in his semi, but badly tensed up and came 7th in the final. I think he wanted it too bad. His time was 10.23. I think he cost himself a 10.1X or even a 10.0X today. Hopefully it will be a learning experience.

I'm not gonna try to sugar coat it too much.Craig got is handed to him today.Did he embarass himself? No probably not.The difference between 7th and 3rd was almost nothing. He ran in the low 10.23 range but that will not get it done.Personally,it might be a good thing. He got beat by his teammateds M.Devonlish and MLF.Only Jason Gardener finished lower. This will help keep him focused. At the end of the day,it's only one race but it's got to be depressing.Back to training and keep your head up Craig.

Matic did descent running a 10.23 too I believe. You can't win them all.Our boys let us down today but there will be many other races. He needs to stay relaxed.

The Euro Under 23 Championships are just a few days away from starting.Craig will be facing a tough field with two several other elite young white sprinters including Darius Kuc and Christian Blum. Both of these guys are attempting the double as they are in both the 100 & 200 meters. I sure wish Craig would run a few deuces once in a while just for some practice and to gain some speed endurance. It doesn't have to be always about winning.Wariner does speed work in the 200 to help him break the world record in his event someday.Anyways, good luck to Craig and the rest of these guys this week.Let's hope for some world class times coming from this youngsters.

The spotlight has been lifted a little from Pickering. Two of his teammates have ran faster than him currently.Today,M.Devonish and T.Edgar ran a 10.06 and a 10.13. Devonish is 31 years of age and Edgar is 25 years of age.Pickering has still run faster than MLF,and Jason Gardner. I'm curious to see how he will respond to these guys passing him up.Devonish is in the top form of his career and is clearly Englands number one sprinter. He might go sub 10 by the worlds.

It's time for Craig to step up his game.I'm hoping for good weather and some nice competition at the Euros. He needs to at least get down to around a 10.10 to stay in the public spotlight. He has had alot of good publicity but that could change quickly if the times don't come.Let's see what he can do this weekend!

Craig just ran the opening round of the Euro Under 23 Championships in the quickest time of anyone in the rounds. He ran a 10.23 with no wind.He looked to be out for a daily jog.Craig will race in the semifinals later today. He and Jessica Ennis are the captains of the English Team.I want to see him break his p.b. in the semis or the finals.Let's hope for the best.I really can't see anyone beating him.

By the way.Darius Kuc and Christian Blum have also made the semifinals.

Craig is through to the finals. He ran a slow 10.28 to win his semi finals heat but I still don't think he is really trying that hard.Darius Kuc(Poland),C.Blum(Germany),E.Stergyioulis(Greece)and F.Cerruti of Italy will join Pickering(UK)in the finals. There are also two other British Guys that made the final so it could possibly be a 1,2,3 sweep.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that Craig will have a top notch performance tomorrow. He'll need it as the fastest qualifier from the other semi was a full tenth faster than he was. He still has a good chance to win it all, but he will really need to put forth his very best.

Wow, you nailed that one. Simeon Williamson ran a 10.10 for the championship title.

Pickering maybe petering out. It's been a long season for him. I hope he has more in the bank for the worlds. Williamson is the oldest looking 21 year old I have ever seen..

I was over at Europeanathletics.org and they were saying that Pickering was hurt yesterday in the semi finals. He was still going to compete but his back was hurting him bad.He pulled something in his second race yesterday.I forgot to post this but you guys can read it over there if you want.I'm not making it up.

Under the circumstances,I'm very happy with his result.I honestly after hearing about his back injury wasn't sure if he would even make the top 3.I figured he might even run in the 10.30's range. So for Craig to set a new p.b. injured is great news. The media will probably jump on Simeons band wagon like the idiots they are.He had a race of a lifetime but I doubt he will eventually be the star that Pickering will.Congrats on a silver medal and a new p.b.

Not a tough call. Give the modern white athelete a chance to roll over and lose to a black and they will do it everytime. I have been watching it for years and it makes me sick. Thank God for the Russian boxers and Jeremy Wariner.

Pickering is very similar to Wariner. He doesn't back down to anyone and is not intimidated by these black sprinters. He will be one of the best in the world within a couple of years.I just can see it happening. He is still only 20 years of age and running with the big boys.He has won around 4 races, finished 2nd today by an whisper, and he has had only one bad race. This kid will back up what he says and make you into a fan jaxvid.I know where your coming from though as I have had many athletes let me down over the years.

Guys like Wariner and Wladimir are showing how it is to be done.I'm just not going to jump off the bandwagon when I know what the kid is capable of.Craig Pickering and Michael LeBlanc are the two biggest sprinting hopes to be the fastest man in the world someday at the moment. There are many others but these two 20 year olds are bad to the bone!!!

Funny, whenever I see a picture of that Oden guy I think it's a pic of some veteran player. I'm betting he was "held back" a couple of times in school, I guess "no children left behind" didn't include him.
