This will be an interesting fight for several reasons. 1st., this will be the first major fight at Yankee Stadium since Ali recieved a gift decision against Norton.

2nd., Who ever wins goes on to bigger fights and paydays. The loser will be regulated to "stepping stone" status.

3rd., Migel hiring Steward understands the importance of this fight. If the Margacheeto and Pacman fights didn't beat the skill and punch resistence out of Migul, I expect to see an excellent Cotto on Saturday night.

4th., Here is Yuri's chance to show the world he is not a "novelity act" with all of the fighting rabbi nonsense. He is a prize fighter on the world stage. I look forward to see if he can take body shots from Migel.

Prediction: Migel Cotto by 9th TKO over Yuri. It will be a competive fight for the first five rounds. Then Migel will begin taxing Yuri's body, Yuri will welt with the stoppage coming soon thereafter.

Yea im gettin sick of his Jewish "heritage" being over played in the media, personally I hope Cotto will knock him out.Edited by: jcolec02

Good prediction Westside.  I feel Cotto will win the fight but I hope I am wrong.  Let's go Yuri.
The "fighting rabbi" thing is laughable!

I hope Cotto give this guy a beating like Vinny Paz did to Rosenblatt!

BTW, any news from the other fighting rabbi Salita?

I have no problem cheering for Yuri Foreman and hope he wins. I think the fight is 50-50. If Foreman does win he will probably be the most high profile white boxer in the U.S. He is already being profiled on ESPN, SI and HBO and has had appearances on late night talk shows. A win will lead to even more.

Go Yuri!

The reason is because he is a professed rabbi. I want to see if he has the strength to withstNd Migel's body attack we'll see.

Of course it is because he is studying to be a rabbi, though I think a Irish or Italian boxer/priest would attract as much attention.

I stay out of the Jewish/Israel debate - especially at CF as I think we should be all about supporting oppressed white athletes. Quite simply - I see a white man (pale skin, light eyes, light hair) fighting Saturday night.

It all depends on how much Cotto has left but I think Foreman may just outbox him and eek out a win.

I agree it's an intriguing matchup and a 50-50 fight.

It all depends on how well Miguel Cotto has recovered from his two terrible beatings, the first from the possibly plaster-laden gloves of Antonio Margarito, and the second from Manny Pacquiao.

If Cotto is not at his best, Foreman will use his excellent skills and height advantage to outbox him to a decision win.

Yeah Cotto has to bring his A game. If not he will get a severe boxing lesson form Yuri. One thing Cotto did smart is hire Steward for this cross roads fight. Funny a cross road fight for Cotto who is only 29 years old!

Yes that's the key I think if Cotto was the Cotto pre Margacheato he wins an easy unanimous decision. This fight could boil down to who has more in the late rounds.

From yesterday's weigh photos, both appear in supreme condition. I am starting to get exicted for this match. It will be interesting to see what each fighter really has, in terms of power, skill, stamina and heart. I think the heart will be tested. Cotto has shown he has tremendous heart, I wonder if Yuri has the heart when faced with the body blows and power shots that Cotto will deliver?

i predict a yuri win by decision, i think yuri will struggle to knock him out, amnny pac struggled to do it, so i think yuri will. But i think the beatings cottos taken will effect him.

f3dor, yeah you have a point about the beatings Cotto has taken, but he is only 29 years old and hired Manny Steward for this important fight. Yuri has never faced anyone on Cotto's level.

If Cotto pre-Margacheato shows up, it is over within 7 rounds, with Yuri left in a heep on the mat and his corner throwing the towel to save him! But...Cotto could be an old 29 and be clocked just the same.

i think predict it will be like paulie amir khan, paulies a old 29, and i think cotto will be the same. Not that i dislike cotto, mayweather blatantly ducked him.

Any streams

I understand Cotto got the ko in rd 9 from a body shot. And Yuri showed up in a knee brace! It seems he knew he would lose and just wanted the payday? Reminds me when Michael Spinks showed up against Mike Tyson with a knee brace. His body language said " I'm going to get KTFO".

My brother was feeling me in. Will view it this morning and later give a complete analysis.

Let's be honest, Yuri Foreman was being outclassed by the smaller Cotto, and so he wanted an excuse for losing. He faked a knee problem and then continued to fight, to make himself look brave.

The media will hype Foreman up as being courageous, but for 90% of the fight he just ran from Cotto, who almost knocked him down with a jab in the first round.

I have a lot of respect for Miguel Cotto, who seems a nice quiet guy, and it was good to see him bounce back from a difficult loss and win a world title in a third weight division.

All the Jewish commentators root against the non-Jewish white boxers and continually discredit them (like tonight when Kellerman went on about Martirosyan's "advantages" over the negro opponent Joe Greene. Max kept mentioning Vanes 1.5" or 2" height advantage over Greene, but never mentioned Foreman's 4" height advantage over Cotto). I've NEVER seen a Jew root for a white gentile boxer, unless he was his promoter or manager. With that in the back of my mind, I found myself rooting for Miguel Cotto tonight.

Since you didn't see the fight, you couldn't be more inaccurate.

Spinks was knocked out in the first round. Although Foreman was behind on the cards, when he knee gave out in the 6 or 7th round , he continues to fight several rounds on essentially one leg. He fought like champion who wanted to defend his title even if he had one functioning leg. He actually was more competitive since he had to stand there and trade shots with the harder puncher. Foreman was limping around the ring, but the fight only ended in the 9th round when due to his almost total lack of any mobility he caught a very hard shot to the liver.

Yuri , if he really wants to be champion again she give up this rabbi BS , get a real trainer, and make a comeback. Cotto looked better than in his last 5 fights mainly due to having Emmanuel Steward in his corner.

Kinda feel the same way regarding Cotto. Heverower I have heard Kellerman give credit to white fighters such as Joe Calzaghe and Mike Kasidis.

And the K Bros for good measure.
