Max kept mentioning Vanes 1.5" or 2" height advantage over Greene, but never mentioned Foreman's 4" height advantage over Cotto). I've NEVER seen a Jew root for a white gentile boxer, unless he was his promoter or manager. With that in the back of my mind, I found myself rooting for Miguel Cotto tonight.
ESPNs "E:60" program had a piece on Yuri Foreman, and how he was so special at boxing, and that he was studying to be a Rabbi.
The Jewish media apparatus clearly supports him, so I figure.. why should I? They're openly talking about his "JEWISHNESS" - so why should I treat him as if he were a GENTILE?
If the media did not "glorify his background".. then maybe my views would be different.

My biggest problem with Foreman is his lack of punching power. His record was 28 wins with only 8 KO's. If a man has no more punching power than that I don't see why he would even compete unless he's some type of defensive wizard - which obviously Foreman is not.
I think Foreman's handlers thought Cotto was on the down side of his career and being the smaller man would have trouble hurting Foreman. Apparently they were wrong.

As opposed to Clottey, who actually was dropped by a Cotto jab.
Yuri was outclassed, but there's no question that he is one tough dude. And he definitely wasn't faking the injury.
If not for the leg, Foreman would have likely lost a wide decision (like 117-111 or 118-110).
Much like Paulie Malignaggi, Foreman lacks power and will have an uphill battle his entire career.
Vanes Martrosian looked very good as usual and should take a belt within a year or so.

Another shock of the night that another over hyped Black NYC prospect came up short again. The "Chin Checkers", Giovanni Lorenzo(Afro-Caribbean Mulatto)and now Greene all have failed when they stepped up in cross roads bouts. In fact the only recent NYC hyped prospect that has semi-panned out has been Paulie Walnuts........

Ok, just finished watching the replay of the fight. A couple of things.
1st., Yuri demonstrated buku courage! I loved how he dug down deep and exchanged with Migel after his injury.
2nd., I think Yuri started the injury to his knee when his slipped pretty hard in the fourth round. And yes, the injury was real, but is it wised to fight with a suspect knee at this level....NO. He should have had that knee operated on years ago.
3rd., Yuri has the foundation to be a great fighter. My advice is to put that Rabbi stuff way back on the back burner, get the knee fixed, rehab it properly then fight again, starting with C level competion.
4th., It appears that Manny Stewart is working his magic again. Migel appeared confident and relaxed, as if he was sparring with an inferior fighter.
5th., Migel appeared to regain proper balance and footwork. And has his left hook working again. I was impressed as always with his perfectly timed power jab.
6th., The future appears good for Yuri, and brighter for Migel. I would advise Migel to steer clear of Sergio Martinez and Paul Williams though.
